- We need to retrofit an existing beaver deceiver on one of our beaver dams to better control the water level behind the dam and ensure the beavers have deep enough water to live in through the winter. In this video, Rob talks about the modifications he is making and how those modifications should help both the beavers and the Verge farm

1:13 "... I'll cut a slit in the bell end."
That made me wince.
I was waiting for the beaver to come and see what all the noise was about..LOL
Did you put a cage or anything like that on the other end to keep the beavers from clogging it up? Thanks.
Love that your working with the Beaver!!!! Maybe don't have everyone walking right on top of the dam. WHERE is the follow up to this?
Before I retired 25 years ago we tried this idea using stovepipe, found that an elbow turned down in the water worked the best. Our conclusion was that the beaver didn't believe that water would go up so didn't even try to stop it,
Got a good chuckle
I'm definitely interested to see if this works. I thought the monk pipe would have to go on the intake side.
yeah, would have done that^^
Hi, suggestion put the pipe on the other end inside the pond. There won’t be so much stress on the out going pipe.
I agree. The beaver deciver was already in place from the last land owner. Ideally the monk pipe will sit on the other side.
So...what happened next?
Cool & funny video. I wonder what the beaver thinks?
As a viewer from the UK I can't help but chuckle at some of the language used here.
I'm confused, you WANT the water to rise?
Use a No Hub coupling for pvc pipe if ya want to be able to adjust it.
How is the update coming?

Experimented
I would say you have a young inexperienced beaver from looking at that dam. That thing has leaks all the way down at the bottom. I watch Martin and his video about his beaver dam.
Beaver dams always leak. How much is by their design..
Beavers. The vigorous and busy creators of both wanted and unwanted wetlands. They have zero respect for private property. They also taste pretty good in a pinch.
Beavers are like Democrats. Give them a bite and they take your whole meal.
