THIS is such a FANTASTIC movie. EVERYTHING about it works! Love it Love it Love it!!!!!!! Eric Serra's soundtrack works so well. Almost 30 years later its STILL a classic movie! Superb!!!
Has it been 30 years? The culmination of Luc Besson and Eric Serra has made this movie a classic. His previous movie, The Big Blue had me hooked on this perfect partnership of directing and music.
LOVE IT - great movie, the acting the story. The Eric Serra soundtrack was awesome. Its just a stone cold solid cult classic. The camerawork gets me everytime - that jump through the garage shoot / the bullet through the wall. When Luc Besson was actually a good director - He's been constantly dissapointing me ever since aprt from Leon, which was great of course.
@@barryhercules6486 Constantly dissappointing really? I don't know many movies by him but I really like Yamakasi in case you haven't seen it I recommend it 🙏

This movie is a masterpiece, a great proof of the level of the french cinema, also when it goes on action movies! for me it is the best movie of Luc Besson, and Anne PArillaud was the b est choice, i think she was perfect in this role
That’s so sweet. Ever since I saw this film I told myself if I have a child one day and she’s a she I’ll name her Nikita. And a boy, Arthur like Rimbaud
Why am I a jerk??...I've simply made it known that I like this film and I love the style in which Luc Beeson makes his films...I don't see why that deserves slander....and if 'Place of Origin' doesn't think it's the best then that's his/her opinion and I respect that at least they have not called me names. At 2am in the morning you obviously had nothing better to do!!.
I'm not sure who she is referring to but either way it doesn't deserve being called something defamatory. I welcome criticism but let's make it constructive. But hey it is the best film by LB closely followed by Leon.....lol.....no arguing lol. Shawshank Redemption is best film ever!....it's just my point of view!...lol
Well there's 2 in your list that are in my top 10 and that's Fargo, Frances Mcdormand is just brilliant!.., also Buscemi and Stormare as the kidnappers couldn't have been better cast!. Also Goodfellas, Ray Liotta and Joe Pesci truly outstanding...I love Scorsese although I would put 'Casino' before Goodfellas, both films are in the same league but I personally felt Casino was slightly better. I could never get into Blade Runner and I've tried watching it half a dozen times but I just get bored even though I do like my sci-fi...it's just drags on to me. The Breakfast Club is the same and I much prefer 'Some Kind of Wonderful' from the Brat Pack era which again would be in my Top Ten. Mulholland Drive???...it rings a bell but other than that I don't even know what Genre it is but I will check that out!...But yes very similar taste!..so all is good!!!..lol
***** Do you have an alibi that can place you in bed at 2300 ? lol....it says 1.57am on your reply..... if so then you must have ghosts! (or it's the person that can give you the alibi)...lol. I'le let you off, I guess calling somebody a 'jerk!' isn't exactly crime of the century!...lol....sweet dreams!
***** Yes John Hughes is much like Scorsese...he writes and produces such in depth characters and really interesting story lines you can't help but watch!. SKOW is a fabulous movie and I have lost count on how many times I have watched it over the years. Planes, Trains and Automobiles is another great example. I think subconsciously you was thinking of the 'pillow' scene with Candy and Martin when you described Hughes work as 'fluffy!'..lol. Yes Buscemi is great but I can't for the life of me think when he came into the Sopranos, it must have been after season 2 when I stopped watching....I get bored easily, I tried watching Fargo 'the series' with Martin Freeman as Will.H.Macy's character but again after the 3rd episode I just gave up...way to long especially when the Coen Brothers knocked the story out of the ball park in just a couple of hours....why make a series of 10hrs when you can tell the entire story in just 2..??. Yes I've looked at Mulholland Drive, again I like David Lynch, if you want slightly surreal then you need look no further...Blue Velvet was brilliant...Eraserhead is as out there as you can get....seriously weird!!...I promise I will give MD a look and I will report back with my verdict (can't be any stranger than Hopper sniffing Nitrous Oxide and saying 'I want my mommy!!'....lol)
The 1st time I heard about this movie was back in early 1991(I was a senior in HS at the time) when the 2 movie critics on tv,"Siskel and Ebert", did a review about this foreign made movie.Rented it on vhs sometime during spring season of '91 at a local video rental store.
Remember the time when I saw it in France. During this time Besson provide trailer ONLY 15 DAYS after release. Only the poster and we know nothing about the movie. We guess it was different and darker compared to the previous "The Big Blue". Was blown-minded. Beautiful movie and soundrack (Serra). I had a crush for Anne in this movie and I go back watch it the day after in Cinema (the first and last time I did that lol)
@Moviebro ..while reading subtitle you basically miss half of the movie and than you have to watch it second time and that is waste of time. most people do not prefer subtitle for english movies.
Lol I speak swedish and 99 % of all films i watch are in english. So I´m gonna have to read the subtitles if I don´t want to miss half the point. Actually I would prefer subtitle even for a swedish film, I think it´s easier! The actors don't always speak clearly
@Moviebro ..i know but it just takes too much energy if you watch movie and read the subtitle at the same time. Only deaf people watch and read subtitle at the same time.
In just three years, a remake will be recorded in 1993, Anne Parillaud will be replaced by Bridget Fonda, and also, Tchéky Karyo will be replaced by Gabriel Byrne. The plot will be the same, the same excitement and tension, the same bitter but still happy ending. Will our heroine pay off her debt or not, will remain an eternal question ?! We wanted to believe that she had paid off her debt in full!
@cyrilconnection That's what we do. We make bad remakes of foreign films. Once in a great while, we make a good remake of one of our own, but...what are you gonna do?
I was a fan of Luc Besson's the fifth element, but I'm wondering if Nikita is worth watching. Although, I'm not generally keen on French cinema that much.
@cyrilconnection You're right it would be better if they only put subtitles, but as always whenever there's a successful foreign film Hollywood buys the rights for the American version wanting to make profit. Makes me cringe how many movies they've butchered like this, Darkprose did say we sometimes are able to pull off one of our own, but unfortunately its very rare. I wish Hollywood would start moving away from "remakes" and let a classic stand on its own.
Of course you can't compare Nikita 2010 canadian tv series with this. In fact they share nothing but their name and the idea of rehabilitating criminals by turning them into killers. I liked both.
@blaxican77 ...The main point of remaking of Nikita was it had a very good story but the language was french and you know majority of people in world don't understand french but English and im gald they remake that movie otherwise i wouldn't know there was a film called "Nikita".
@DahlemDorf They did it because dubbing it would've fucked up the movie, and people don't want to watch movies with subs. I'm not one of those people at all, and this one is obviously superior to the remakes, but get your facts straight.
@kazper333 Really? Do you know anything about movies or acting or originalty? That show wouldnt even exsist if this classic piece of cinema hadnt been made.
@Calle2k i agree whole heartedly! i watched this myself years ago with english subtitles and it was brilliant i watched (not even half of) it again afew years later with an english DUB and something was seriously lost in the translation and i havn;t been able to find the original with english subtitles one again...so sad! such a great film. lots of emotion yes and dont get me started on any remake, especially American!...*vomits*

I watch your Movie every Year Dude
Nice edit! Easily one of my favorite films of all time.

I've named my daughter Nikita after this movie. Somehow she turned out into a tough badass.
I was 14 then. I got in love with this movie. So powerful, so touching. I am now 47 and still the same feelings when watching.
naturally. because that's a man's name
I also named my daughter Nikita.
@@spintongues women are way stronger but okay

Just watched it again one of my favourites.

The most amazing soundtrack i ever heard
Masterpiece

Eric Serras music is a huge part of Bessons films. Good to see Besson back directing again too.
the soundtrack alone makes it worth watching I guess....
You guess? I hope you guessed you watched the film by now and realized what a moron you were.
+VNV Girl How is he supposed to know if he'll like the film before watching it? Dumb ass.
I used to watch this trailer over and over again as a teen, it was so good. And now.
Leon the professional was in this movie!
Sort of. he's simply called 'the Cleaner' in the film
no his name is Victor Nettoyeur, this character inspired Besson to base a film around a similar character
great score by Mr Eric Serra.
Great movie, even better music typical for those French movies in the end of the 80's and beginning 90's.
Great film! music particularly.
and then Léon: The Professional even better.
Stefan The Big Blue is good too, but very different.
I remember owning a tape of dark angel and it had this trailer along with johnny handsome and air america..awesome memories.
Un de mes films préférés de Besson !!!!
Luc Besson !!!!!!
i'm sorry, but she's a very talented actress so please don't judge before you've even watched it. pathetic.
Nikita ❤️ Tcheky Karyo 🔥🔥🔥
Best movie in Life 👍
Absolutely love this movie ❤
This movie is amazing a big favorite is something I saw some years ago in 2009 it was great the best
The original and best.
God bless Luc Besson.
jedan od najboljih filmova
Классика!!!
Anyone else came here after ANNA?
Yep
the French make great films
no they don't... this is was a one off
@Moviebro ..while reading subtitle you basically miss half of the movie and than you have to watch it second time and that is waste of time. most people do not prefer subtitle for english movies.
anyone know who does the song that starts at around 1:20? thanks.
All the musics are from Eric Serra, a French composer who made every single music of every Luc Besson's film. He is a genius !
I so loved her haircut in this movie. She was so pretty. Deadly, but pretty. LOL!
Very good 👍
My impression of France has not been updated since this movie🤖ニキータ
can anyone tell the guy with the transmitter can he tap phonesi n the movies?
Sublime flim
Love Nikita as much as Leon
Super film super music ......
Piece of cake! 😎
Love the look and feel of this movie, it reminds me a lot of The Bourne Identity.
Lol I speak swedish and 99 % of all films i watch are in english. So I´m gonna have to read the subtitles if I don´t want to miss half the point. Actually I would prefer subtitle even for a swedish film, I think it´s easier! The actors don't always speak clearly

all the catching moments from La femme nikita tv serie is just moments from the movie!

Tough film. Key is redemption.
@cyrilconnection That's what we do. We make bad remakes of foreign films. Once in a great while, we make a good remake of one of our own, but...what are you gonna do?
Joanna Dark?
You need to take this off of TV Shows. It's a movie not a tv show.
I was a fan of Luc Besson's the fifth element, but I'm wondering if Nikita is worth watching. Although, I'm not generally keen on French cinema that much.
try " THE BUREAU " - see imdb report
i agree with you but it's not a tv series it's a movie.
Leon
Nikita Sergeevich Chruchev!!!!
Eric serra soundtrack masterpiece

Nice.
Exactly you have for instance Nikita Khrouchtchev
I was under the mistaken impression that the remake was by the same director. At points it looks like a scene by scene reshoot, except crappier.
the remake isn't bad. this one just better directed... i.e, more artsy. the cinematography is better in this one.
Of course you can't compare Nikita 2010 canadian tv series with this. In fact they share nothing but their name and the idea of rehabilitating criminals by turning them into killers. I liked both.
Amazing…
After this dont get closer
thats because its a remake of this movie.
I bet it´s Eric Serra on the soundtrack
Yes it is!
Tausendmal besser als Codename Nina mit Bridget Jones!
@blaxican77 ...The main point of remaking of Nikita was it had a very good story but the language was french and you know majority of people in world don't understand french but English and im gald they remake that movie otherwise i wouldn't know there was a film called "Nikita".
fr. nikita was the best
Ich meine natürlich Bridget Fonda, sorry!
2:09 miren esa carita tan hermosa
the way he falls 1:46
oh my, it's exactly the same. why, why would they do this?
Lako ti je bilo da to primetiš pored ove krune na mojoj glavi i ove sablje. ;-)

and dont get me started on any remake, especially American!...*vomits*
so shes like 60 now in the show wtf?
Before Peta and Maggie.
the remake is horrible...
because when a foreign movie is great as this one hollywood tries to prove they can make a better version of it...
La musique de fond fait vraiment penser à celle d'orange mécanique
