Marlo, you are a stunning teacher to us all, and the messages in Free to Be... resonate decades later. Again this year I am showing Free To Be... in class in it's entirety to my 70 College students. The discussion it generated last year around gender stereotyping, racism and prejudice, was the highlight of the academic year last time. Can't wait to do it again this year!

I really like Free to be... You and me. I was very inspired to hear it. Now, I am starting to see that not everyone would benefit from all of the songs. It is very cisgender privilege. Young transgender people hear "boys grow up to be men, girls grow up to be women" from every direction as it is, and it might make them scared be themselves.
