46:03 I absolutely love how proud this man is of his grans works during war! I am proud of her as well and didn't even know the woman! She was a blessing at a time where expecting mothers probably felt like they were in hell!
Usually I find British versions of pronunciations charming - but bidet (pronounced here as 'b-day' vs 'buh-day') isn't one of them. I am glad they're finally catching on in the states - I put one in a few years back and will never live in a home without one again.
That grand tour album was so frustrating, he could have at least shown us some more of the pictures instead of concentrating on the few he did. I bet he had a look at them all.
I saw this first time round and never thought id get to comment. What an apalling and horrifying case of grave robbing. And by a seemingly "nice" person. Anne Shelton left DIRECTIONS IN HER WILL,and presumably had often mentioned to her family her wishes,as Wills are often not read or looked at until after interment has been sorted out. The singer Anne Shelton wanted to be buried with this ring that meant a lot to her and her wishes were overriden due to financial value. I found that uttterly shocking at the time and i found it just as shocking this time around. How shameful, greedy and disrespectful.
Could you be more judgmental?🙄 She loved her aunt! She was so clearly very proud of her. Who cares if she kept a the ring as a small momento. I think it's beautiful that she cherishes the memory. And courageous to be so honest in the face of small minded tut-tutting such as yours. What's truly shocking are all the insanely wealthy folk who through the ages have greedily clung to their spoils in death. They can't enjoy them yet they won't let anyone else.
If the woman wanted to be buried with HER ring than that is what they should have done! Shame on them for thinking about greed and their own wants and desires over that of the person who the ring belonged to in the first place! Some people have zero conscience when it comes to others. They always just scheme for their own personal greed & gain. Hope that ring is haunted!
While I understand your sentiment, what would you think if someone owned a Rembrandt and left instructions in his/her will that it should be burned? Is the person who wants to have a ring buried with her not also being rather selfish?
So your one with the art deco ring CHOSE to go against the wishes of the deceased so she could keep that ring. I have to say I’m floored by the selfishness. 😲
And yet, as a working historian in a National Historic Site, the tremendous cultural and emotional impact carried by items from deeply meaningful times cannot be underestimated. And I think, had she known the impact it would have on others, the memory of ‘hope’ in very dark times, she would gladly have left it behind.
@@Great-Documentaries not so great documentaries - ever heard of up-scaling? yeah, kind of like how you told an actual pilot - calling him a "Gamer boy" when the man has clearly shown videos of himself flying helicopters, military jets and is very easily verified a real pilot? so shut the hell up
I'm grateful, too! Thank you.
Thank you very much. 👍
WATCHING FROM GUYANA IN SOUTH AMÉRICA.
I love, love it that you are able to find do many items when you go picking!
LOL! That side glance from the woman after the estimate on the Galle vases, toward the owner of the vases.
Great from Brisbane Australia

That ring is so unique. The lack of symmetry is odd

Sebah was Armenian, not Turkish.

Isn’t it pronounced Dull-which
No. Dullich. English is an odd language sometimes!

Disgusting isn't it. "Nice" people get away with things like that.
