Thank you for another great video walk. Torres Novas is another example of a centuries-old town in centuries-old Portugal that proves that the notion of “15-minute cities” is nothing “novo” - or noble - and whose planners did not build the city with the idea of confining people and their activities within the parameter of a specific area. Indeed, the video suggests that Torres Novas has a good future ahead of it. The town seems to have a good generational mixture. My guess is that its hotels are host to businesspersons and to Portuguese tourists interested in the history of the town and the country. The town’s topography keeps Torres Novas interesting and never monotonous for both locals and visitors. Some of its buildings do need is a little tender loving care, but I suspect that the residents of Torres Novas are conscious of the need and that all the worse for wear buildings need to do is continue waiting until the right person comes along, adopts them, and transforms them from ugly ducklings into beautiful swans.
I would love to restore old places and live in Porugal.

1. Yes, there are plenty of cities without a castle. Places that were founded in the last 5-6 centuries don't have castles. There are also cities that used to have a castle, but it didn't survive the test of time. For example: Braga.
2. Ha, that's so difficult to say... 😅 Lisbon, Porto, Braga, Guimaraes (these two I have yet to film for the channel), Viseu, Coimbra, Évora, etc.... I can't choose just one. I live in Lisbon though, so it gets an extra point.
3. I watched the music video, but unfortunately I have no idea where it was filmed, it could be anywhere... 😅

Torres Novas is actually a pretty average sized city for Portugal. It has 13k people.

Uma cidade encantadora! Parece, mesmo, um local tranquilo e acolhedor. A vista a partir do Castelo é magnífica! E, na minha opinião, considerando-se o prédio em si, sua história e seu entorno, creio que a Câmara Municipal de Torres Novas seja uma das mais belas das que eu já conheci em Portugal!

Thank you so much Maria! 😊 Torres Novas is mostly flat, easy to walk, the exception being the area around the castle. Castles were almost always built on hills.

Just as a suggestion, we would love to see where you eat in these towns and cities and perhaps highlight the restaurant, food and price just as a side bar. Just kick your video up a notch. Lately, your videos are repetitive, death by history. LOL....
Hello Lorraine! 😊 That's a very good suggestion, thank you! I have tried to include information about the traditional dishes of each place that I visit, but one of the reasons why it hasn't happened is the difficulty in explaining/translating the dishes to other languages. Some of the names and descriptions are very unique and often cryptic, even for native Portuguese speakers. 😅 They would make no sense if I tried to translate them to English. So I think I'll describe the meals I had using general terms, in a way that is easy to understand.
I will probably not film the restaurants themselves, because I would need permission, privacy laws could be an issue (unlike filming in public spaces)...
