. We found something super creepy in this old shed! Lots of skidsteer action in this one, plus I got my new Actionhat half way through recording this vlog. If you want a hands free way of holding a small camera like a GoPro, these work great! My 2nd Channel: / @moreadventuresmadefro...
You're the best Fella keep it up ! Fun ride with Silas' Never disappoints !
I'm 70, grew up on a farm and Love your content, seeing all that old equipment. The wheat field is beautiful, we grew corn, hay, oats/straw. Happy Father's day!🥰
You made it. 70 is quite the accomplishment
Many don't make it
@@yungdolphin9130 you're right, my grandma died at 38, my dad at 53, so I've been blessed
I liked how the guys barely move out of the way when you're picking up stuff near them. That's a sure sign that they know how good you are with the tractor and trust your abilities when working with you.
Cool bugs painting. Funny thing though, creepy as it looks, that's how bugs was drawn in the original cartoons.
That motorcycle was so cool ! Never know what you'll find !
Good video but clickbait title
@@NoNORADon911 Yea, like real creepy, a hand painted
Bugs on crack.
Great work you do. The wheat fields were gorgeous! Carry on and cheers from Canada
The GoPro hat thing is cool
That rabbit is way cool!!! Glad you could save it!
Great finds. Thank you for bringing us along!
Glad I found your channel....thank you!
hey Silas, hi from Arlington! this just popped up in my feed, cool stuff! Treasure in the trees, gotta love it
Not boring! I miss the wheat field's here in Alabama and Georgia haven't been any for many year's. It was beautiful sight.
The first wheat field I've ever seen. It's beautiful for sure.
Kansas produces about 18% of all the wheat in the USA. One of our slogans is “the wheat state”
It's good to see all that old iron being cleaned up and put to recycle 🙂
Yup
great vlogs love the old cars thanks dude..
Thanks!
I wish you had left part of the older farm equipment and some of the older cool stuff! Seems like that should still be part of the farm. I remember as a kid we would often go to my grandparents farm and explore all the old farm junk and land. After my my grandpa died they auctioned the farm and equipment and all the old scraps, vehicles etc. and moved my grandma to town where we lived. I really miss it!
Your the right guy for doing something like this as I see so many things like the antique porta power for doing frame straightening and was in most shops who offered wheel alignments or other damaged vehicle repairs. How many flywheels, bellhousings, hemi engine blocks and this list never stops. I just never got over the hard times of the depression recession days. We were so poor that a penny was a gold mine. I cleaned out park places where people would pitch a penny in for their thoughts or wishes and all I came up with was mud that smelled so bad that don't ask, it was bad .... I see some potential in the stuff left, and if it doesn't attract attention, then its at least easier to load for scrap metal and I do not see it coming down for some time as this is hard times but its going to get much worse before it turns around. Just maybe the start of a deep deep recession depression.
Man lots of stuff there. That motorcycle would be a cool wall hanger
Frank, yes it would
My cool wall hanging? Complete chromed out 379(less drivetrain) with frame rails and sleeper thru wall. Cab inside full interior, sound system/light system controls, sleeper out side with fuel tank on frame to fuel shop heater. All up from ground ten twelve feet. Okay... got my babble dream outta the way thanks all
Great video. I was *not* expecting that music during the cleanup! :-D
Man what a lot of stuff. Yah I'd have trouble chucking some o that stuff too. Very interesting Silas
Not sure if anyone mentioned it yet (don’t have much time to go through the comments right now) but I believe that motorcycle is a 1951 Harley Davidson Model 125 or maybe 165 AKA a “Hummer”. Single cylinder corresponding CC size engine. The Sportster style gas tank was a forerunner to the later sportster where people took the big K model (British looking) tank off and replaced them with that Hummer tank (one hole was ignition the other gas cap) . The 48 to 50 Hummers had a rubber band springer front end so that one is at least a 51. Good condition un restored sell for as much as $10,000.00 a fair frame as much as $500.00.
I believe they were only built for a few years and towards the end they had a huge dumb looking seat so two could ride . That looks like that later seat. The early ones were solo seats .
Great Job! Your DOING, COOL!
Hello neighbor... watching in Wichita Kansas....went to Hutchinson a few days ago... outside of Haven they've already started harvesting and baling it up... I'd love to see that old motorcycle frame.... okay I got a better look at the motorcycle frame it's a Harley Davidson Hummer likely the 165 cc...
Cool!
@@AdventuresMadeFromScratch what's your plans for that motorcycle frame...?
Hats off to you, I would have kept some of the farm equipment.
with the amount of stuff he kept, the stuff he scrapped was mostly way too far gone to save
Silas you found meaning and purpose in life bravo!
We have corn fields and hay in the UK 🇬🇧🍀 as well lovely time of year when there bailing and the rolling hills have giant round bails .
I love how the fields look!
I want a quick look at that Lincoln Town Car!
I found you by a video suggestion from RUclips ended up subscribing videos are pretty cool
enjoy your videos ! thanks for the adventures
Nice Hat! COOL
I love watching messes disappear...
I know what you mean about the sound of walking through that wheat field...lived in the country when I was a kid.
Love it....it's like the soy bean fields in Arkansas near my dad's home..and just so quit out there..
Cool scrappin and makin clean
Kansas is beautiful, your place is beautiful
Thank you!
I have really enjoyed this channel
I like the hat camera, it’s not bad at all
Thanks!
@@bethgregory9388 I have come to enjoy it too, reminds me of growing up on a family farm, plenty of land and equipment to work with
Howdy from Northern California fire zone. That motorcycle you thought was yard art can be worth thousands to restore collectors. I seen way worse brought back to running condition. Please don't trash it have it checked out. Love your honest work videos. 🤠👍🙏
I bought amc at 12.00, I sold at 59$ Everything else is tanking.
So many cool things to do with that cab, but for me it would be a place to put tomato plants. :D
Hello Silas, watching from the northeast flinthills. Kansas is a special place and I'm always glad to come home and yes it has been a hot son of a gun lately.
I would be sneezing my butt off in that wheat field. That Dodge gets a workout
Hey, you can make a cutting torch bottle basket with those big iron wheels, and you can move your cutting torch setup across plowed ground our even pull it up into the back of a pickup by hand. Wide metal milk crate, two sticks of 1/2 square steel and a round piece for the handle. Just use a piece of inch round stock for the axle. I have one and it works so good I won't sell it, whoever made it balanced it perfect, you can pull it around with one hand!
I enjoy watching . I live in Mo and have hauled scrap for over 30 years on and off i have thought about getting out of it . I want to buy a bigger trailer like a 30 foot Gooseneck but there not cheap even for a used one. I have a 16 footer that i haul 3 cars a trip. Do you spend the money or not someday you dont make alot of money.
I spent $9300 plus tax on the trailer I use. 2 years ago it was $6500. Prices have gone crazy. Our rollback was $65k new and now a new one is about $100k.
Thanks Silas for the video! It's great that you save things, i've still seen thing you missed, but there is so much stuff on this farm and I know you can't save it all! Where do you sell the things that are saved, do you have a ebay link? Any chance of a yard video??
I can’t save it all, so I just grab the best stuff. I used to kill myself trying to save everything, but fortunately I don’t have to do that anymore.
I hope you got them old bottles out that car cause I'm watching every video .lol
I brought all the cars home and haven’t had time to go through them. I’m sure they’re still in the car so don’t worry lol!
Great Harvest! Come ing up
No way I could do that job . I’d want to keep to much of the stuff I find.
The start of the video alone has big meme potential
Wdym
Me, I'm a pack rat, how do you decide what you drag home or scrap? I understand alot of stuff is scrap & you have to make $$$$, but I noticed that steel wheel pull grader....very cool.....GOD BLESS!!
If I have a market for it and think I can sell it without too much hassle, I bring it home. Otherwise it goes on down the road.
@@AdventuresMadeFromScratch I get it....I love old junk, if I had the room....oh boy!! At least you put some of it back in circulation
First time watching; now I'm a subscriber.
Awesome!
Good Morning's I'm new - I added ya to my mess I had a Tree on the 17th hit my house - I Subscribed to ya - I like ya - Patricia here
The old motorcycle frame looks like it could be a Harley Davidson Hummer.
I don't know about your area, but around here people are more frugal with the heavy old implements. If you put some of it by the road with a sign on it, You might be able to sell it for more then scrap price . Maybe even a week or so before you plan on scraping it? Hate to see something that's getting harder to find go to the crusher.
They give it away around here. Scrap is way up, so it’s worth about double in scrap than it is for someone to use. If it was in good shape it would be different, but this is all rusty and stuck.
@@AdventuresMadeFromScratch wow ,that's very different then here. Around here you'll pay in the neighborhood of $400 to $900 for an worn out sickle mower ,and The thing only weighed 200pounds! Then someone was asking $650 for a hay wagon with the deck rotting off of it and the tires were shot. Too bad you couldn't
Get some of that stuff shipped up here .😉
I noticed a few people asking why you're scraping over selling old farm equipment. I'm Just putting a suggestion out there not trying to tell you what to do, but you could explain why you doing it in one of you're next videos. That way it may save you time from explaining it in the comment section? It's Just a thought .
Btw nice video! I know what it takes to edit these and you put a lot of time and good work into it.
Silas can u show us the faces u cut in the metal jack-o-lantern I would love to see what u make out of the stuff!!
I’ll definitely make a vlog about them probably around September some time. I don’t have any left to take pictures of at the moment since they always all sell.
Dude when that old guy was still alive you could not even buy one piece of his junk for all the gold in china....now look at 'all' that priceless.
@@karlelliott9254 you're right this small man is getting squeezed out but you got to remember back then that family only fed thousands... we need to feed millions and billions so the advancement in farming has come a long way for that.
More importantly if they were all small farms we couldn't afford to buy the products they produce
That's a cool rabbit. I saw a Servel gas refrigerator on that last load. I was in the used appliance business several decades ago, and those were my biggest money maker, but they were the heaviest things. Be careful with them, they are charged with ammonia, water, and a touch of hydrogen. If you break one open, that ammonia gas is dangerous. It is under a fair amount of pressure too. If you do find one in good condition, they can be converted to propane, and I'd guess that you could get $500 for one, or maybe more.
What about the two semis. For sale? The land looks a lot better. Good job.
They are sold already
its like one of them arcade games the claw with that skidsteer
New to your channel quite enjoy your adventures
Thats definately a farm kid thing, when i was a kid i loved drivin around chrekin the fields, and walkin through them
Have family in Hutch.Watching from NewtonKs.
You put an ass whoopin on that place, nice work. 👍
If I'm not mistaken that old motorcycle is an old Mustang would be a cool frame and what not to have
How Many Acres!! You Clean ing OUT?
There was about 8 acres
Scrap! Money! COOL
There are people that are looking for old engine parts. To them, they would be worth more to restore than scrap. If you run into anymore. I recommend you do a little research into how old and rare they are before scraping them. Some of them looked pretty rare. You could be throwing away alot of money without realizing it. Just a suggestion.
I’m pretty knowledgeable on what will sell vs what won’t vs how much time it will take to sell it. I’m sure a guy could sell everything to someone, but the time cost factor is what gets a lot of it scrapped.
Is any of the old vehicles for sale
Thanks for the videos, I do really look forwards to them.. We currently having heavy rain and thunder storms here In the UK, maybe you need them also, but not before the grain has been harvested I guess.. Ian - UK.
Wheat harvest has just started here. I saw the crews out in the field today. We are currently having record breaking heat, but I guess that’s ok for harvest.
That rabbit is worth checking provenance on. It hints at WW II B 25s
You got a cool operation
Maybe that's the original bugsbunny drawing, wouldn't that be nice for you , cool thanks for sharing
That was a Allis Chalmers snap coupler mower.
Do you get to keep the money for the scarp
Just a thought take one of those road tractors or a medium duty trucks and make you a car hauler
What part of Kansas are you in?
Find many copperheads? Live in Okla and have seen more than usual this year. Hate damn things!
They don’t live around here luckily
You got a eye for the abstract.
What is a black hawk?
A portable power unit
Love to have the iron wheels.
We have that in ky. Long hours!
What part of Kansas, are you from.,?
Thank you! SIR
Does the GMC cabover run?
They say he parked it there a long time ago, but I haven’t done anything but bring it home. I need there to be about 40 hours in a day lol
Advencha... Not, much of an Advencha without the shredda🙄😊😁
Thnx!
That one tire looks like its been there 60 70 years
I've really been enjoying your videos but at times like 12:11 the rapid camera movements causes motion sickness for a lot of people I'm sure. If it is possible to keep stand further away and keep the camera still or use a camera stand like in Andrew Camarata's videos which I feel are the best on youtube.
that hat is for flashlights in my opinion
why would you scrap all that antique farm machinery that cannot be replaced
i couldnt scrap that ever, probabbly jusz mow every year about it...
If wall painting of Bugs Bunny kicking back is creepy, hmm, sick mind, distorted definition of creepy.... I thought it was cool someone took the time to cut the painting out of the wall.
My sister had an alcove in a pitched roof for a bed room and her friend painted such a cool swan there. Total artist at age 12 that girl. Woulda coulda shoulda.
STILL being nodakota love those fields and tree rows full of old parts from now over 💯 years old.
The atmosphere of an abandoned farm with a rotting building and a rabbit staring at you was really a bit creepy.
Hopefully all that wheat will put to good use, HERE in the U.S.A. and NOT going else where....charity begins at HOME !
Barn wood, got an outlet ?
I didn’t save any of the wood. I only bought the metal
music sounded like it was from a Game Boy @ 9 min in 😄
I do differen then you, I seperate my no.1 steel from my shredder. In eastern NC sNo.2 shredder is $6.50 per hundered, No.1 is $8.50 per hundred, has to be cut up less then 3ft. No.1 copper is $3, No.2 copper is $2.85
You can get them on Amazon
8:57-12:00 That music sounds like Kraftwerk had Mario Bros. baby :)
It’s kind of like playing a video game when you’re running the Cat.
Sir how do you gain access to these properties do you own do you pay the owner or are you paid to clean an clear?
We have a metals recycling business and people sell cars to us all the time
I think the rusty motorcycle was a Harley Hummer.
Awesome!
Was this place previously a junk yard? Did the owner pass away and you bought the property?
We bought the contents of the property, but yes, unfortunately the owner passed away earlier this year.
See you On the Next 1!!
It is a Kansas thing. I used to haul grain, the smell of fresh turned earth is intoxicating
That motorcycles worth more than what's scrap value is
