- Throughout History, Henry VIII was one of the most notorious and brutal Kings of England and he would execute 70,000 people inside of his kingdom. He is most remembered for having six wives and executing two of these, (Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard) but there were many more barbaric executions the Tudor King ordered that have been forgotten about.

Henry had one of his cooks boiled alive. His cruelty knew no bounds. Thanks for your videos!
A cook was boiled alive. `Wasnt his cook though.
The cook wasn’t his. His name was Richard Rouse, or Roose, or possibly Cook, and he was accused of poisoning members of the household of John Fisher, Bishop of Rochester by putting a white powder into some porridge. He claimed he was given the powder and told to put it in the porridge as a joke. Two people died and Rouse was arrested and tortured for information. Henry’s part in the matter bearing in mind he was terrified of being poisoned, was to address the House of Lords on the case. He was probably responsible for an act of Parliament which attainted Rouse and made murder by poisoning a treasonous offence mandating execution by boiling and that is how Rouse died.
The prisoner ? Can't blame him.
Wow! I didn't know that Henry executed 1/3 of his population! What a meanie! Thanks for the video, I'm subscribing!
@@carlalindsey9371 You what ??
My x12 GT Gmother was Lady in Waiting to 4 of his wives. I think one had to tread a very careful path in Henrys house. Just down the road from here actually. She managed to stay out of trouble.
Amazes me how he is held in such high regard by people. He was a monster, much more so than 'Bloody Mary'.
No, not really, Mary was way worse
What are you talking about? Henry killed tens of thousands, Mary several hundred!
They were all awful. Everywhere throughout the world and especially those who held power. Unfortunately, it was the time period they lived in and almost impossible to comprehend or make sense of over 500 years later. Hopefully, we have evolved much more as humans and aren’t as ignorant, power driven and fear based but then again….. 🤷🏻♀️ Learn from the past!
@@michaeljohncolgan8142
Exactly! From what I’ve read, Mary executed less than 200 while her father’s total was supposed to be around 70,000!
@@hollycourtney221don’t worry. We haven’t. People are still stupid and those in power are still cruel and selfish. However it happens less often in the west. Look towards the Middle East instead an you’ll see some shit that’ll make guys like Henry VIII look like a fucking Saint.
I really appreciate this video. Bringing voices to those that had little to no voice.I feel this is a much overlooked topic. Thank you!
An 11 year old execution victim, that is heinous! Some of the people mentioned are not unforgotten, they are well known
Very intresting! Thank you
Henry was a cruel monster.
Absolute Power Corrupts
No, no he wasn't

Why do you keep defending this narcissist all over this feed? Just to troll or do you possess certified documents to prove otherwise that no one else knows about? 🙄
He was brain damaged as a result of his jostling

FORGOTTEN executions... and yet, the video covers nearly all the most well known executions of Henry VIII.
😂😂😂 exactly
Thank you.
That figure of 70,000 is very debatable.
You're absolutely right! Finally someone else who debates that! Glad I'm not the only one!!!
I think the whole number is misleading,It's like there trying to say he was personally involved in every execution during his reign,it would be like saying Queen Elizabeth the second was involved in Ruth Ellis, and Derek Bentleys execution during her early reign
@@jamiegormer1010 exactly! AMEN!! Thankyou for saying this! Finally!!
My 17 x great grandfather (Edward Neville) was beheaded by Henry VIII in 1538.
@@jamiegormer1010exactly- many of the executions would have been for criminal acts and passed by his judges.
Thank you for these. I find them sad. Henry was cruel!
francis I valois king of france,
distant cousin to Henry VIII ... is called tyrant or formidable king of france...
however, he executed far less people and did not execute any of his wives...
maybe we should know him as *henry the terrible or henry the tyrant*,
as in european history he is viewed as formidable for his long rule,
less so compared to his daughter ELIZABETH I TUDOR... that was respected far & wide as most intelligent queen in christendom,
even rivals and contemparies like queen catherine medici & her cousin queen mary stuart of scots , would have viewed elizabeth I as better ruler and less notorious than Henry VIII...
he must go down, in european history as one of the most , notorious and infamous kings in english-british history by far,
even his own nephew king james V of scots, thought so...
very few kings, ever execute bishops and archbishops..
even Henry II has a better reputation than henry 8th, even after the thomas a beckett affair...,
possibly for publically regreting what happened,
henry 8th did not regret anything he did...
tudor court politics, and even executing your various ministers, was a common trait of henry VIII,
probably thought the public fandom, was statisfied with here today- blamed and gone tomorrow...
as for HENRY VII, he often is called a miserable old welsh miser or worse.., in reality he gets few if any books, tv series and only had one wife that he loved..
often gets forgotten as the monarch that united the kingdom of england, wales & was lord of ireland...
from feuding
lancaster & york into peace after decades of war and depleted finances....,
of course there was going to needed, a time to shore up finances and have peace with the old enemy of france..., war was too costly and did not achieve foreign policy,,,, , marriage was prefered...
PROBABLY THE MOST FORGOTTEN
VICTIM OF HENRY 8TH
his distant cousin...
Rhys ap Gruffydd (1508-December 1531) was a powerful Welsh landowner who was accused of rebelling against King Henry VIII by plotting with James V of Scotland to become Prince of Wales., many historians regard this as part of a welsh & later irish rebellion... ,
wherby another distant cousin, the earl of kildare... was plotting to become king of ireland, therfore the acts of union and tudor conquest of ireland stepped up a pace...
He was executed as a rebel. He married Lady Catherine Howard (b. abt 1499 Ashwellthorpe, Norfolk, England), the daughter of Thomas Howard, 2nd Duke of Norfolk and his second wife Agnes Tilney.
By this marriage, he became the uncle of Queen Anne Boleyn and Queen Catherine Howard, and granduncle & distant cousin of Queen Elizabeth Tudor.
90% of historians never every mention him, let alone his ancestery , his grandfather sir rhys ap thomas the knight of bosworth fame, magnate of tudor wales..., cousin to HENRY VII...
Henry almost killed all my ancestors. Only 2 survived luckly one was several great grandfather
Pronounced koo de tar not koo de tart 😅😅
I am descendant of Princess Mary Tudor 👑
So everyone he was suppose to pay rather well for their jobs for Henry was beheaded or murdered for Treason. Hmm Henry was very very greedy for any assets including assets that were not his. All were really murdered for GREED!
😊
England is only a quarter part of the U.K. .🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🇬🇧
Henry VIII was a medieval Hitler .
Wales must me even smaller then. England is bigger and better than crappy Wales. 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
That’s a pretty misleading statement. It’s one of the 4 countries that make up the UK, yes, but like most things, it’s more complicated than that 🤷♂️
Theists are silly.
Kind of Reminds You Of Trump
Lmao not a trump supporter but what VAST comparison. The executions alone.
Fo it does!More like "I popped my pants Biden"
The vast majority of the executions listed were not forgotten executions but some of the most famous
The strange inflexiion in the narration makes this unwatchable.
Shame seemed interesting.
Why they N E V E R had to stand up for this terror ???
