LOL! When I was a teenager my Dad drove a 1980 280CE...while out flyfishing, we came back to a herd of cattle literally licking the paint off in patches...it's the road salts they were after.
Sarah - My wife and I are both Air Force veterans and very much enjoy watching your channel. You have a wonderful work ethic which is very rare these days. Thank you for all of your hard work.
That coupled with what ever renault is charging Mercedes for that 4cyl engine. And the standard added tech for this model year makes it balance out...yes they're overcharging since it was introduced. But give it one year depreciation and it may be a solid buy.
another great review! I lol'd when you put the graphics on the fake exhaust tips... you always add the best extras to your reviews. Thank you for all your hard work!
Love this car . Probably the best Merc for the money. The dct is a type of transmission most people don't understand. Excellent review, like always. Thanks Sarah.
I had a first gen GLA 45 AMG and aside from the fairly cheap interior and some rattles, the car was a total hoot to drive. I had the sports seats and exhaust which were well worth it. The handling was fantastic as was the drivetrain minus some of the DSG quirkiness. It's been the best I've owned for driving on twisty roads but a huge measure.
@@sgtmtrush Ah, yes... No frills, few comforts. At least...we had seat belts. Wouldn't do to go flying around inside smacking into things... The C-130s I flew in were made in the 1960s, and they were better maintained than any school I ever rode in, though. Memories...
Another excellent review with the added bonus of two things I have missed from you reviews lately; the penguin managed to sneak it's way into the review and you are talking to animals again! Yay! 😉 Thank you for what you do and Stay Awesome!
Sarah! Another great review. You have always been awesome, but you are really on point with this one. And as always, so lovely to look at and to listen to.
I was just thinking the other day how nice it would be if you reviewed a Benz on this platform! My mom drives a 2022 A250 4matic hatchback and there’s a severe lack of technical info out there. I agree with your assessment, fun handling, perfect size, and underrated. My mom’s was a dealer demo that was driven by a salesman for 6 months then sat for 6 months, we got it for 2/3rds the price of new, same price that GTI’s were going for at the time.
Hey Sarah…I hope you are doing great….thanks for all the awesome content you provide….could you please make a video on the vw gli comparing it to the gti justifying the price gap that the 2 models have
Can you update the car ratings on your website? Specifically add the wrench scores. Thank you so much for being the only youtuber I know who gives maintenance assessment scores on new cars!
Hi Sarah great review of the Mercedes it a fast car for being stock I love the new Mercedes thank for the awesome video you look fantastic . Enjoy your day don’t work too hard hard we all know you will 😊
nice vid. in europe the base model is the CLA 180. this has a 1300 cc renault turbo engine. The 1991cc in the 250 models (incl A class, CLA, GLA ,GLB) is a real mercedes enigine.
Hi Sarah, I'm in the UK and love your videos, so professional 😎 The a/c condenser looks very vulnerable to stone/rock chip damage and I can't believe mercedes hid the heated wheel button like that 🤭
I'd like to see a comparison of a cla250 and c300. The price is only separated by a few thousand, but the c300 is rwd, not fwd. Maybe the cla250 gets better lease deals, but I don't see the value proposition over the c300 like it used to when it started around 33-35k
Did you remember to put the car in car wash mode when the horse was washing the car? t also would have been more fitting if you were reviewing a mustang or a camaro (pony cars). Great review as always.
Looks like a lot of "in for service " potential with all the gadgets. I'm still looking at the Nissan Versa S manual as King or Queen, depending on perspective.
I have the CLA 250 e plugin hybrid and I have to say that the car is great all around. However, fortunately I have the 2023 model with real buttons on the steering wheel and the touchpad in the center console.
I love how this is the base version in America. Here in the UK (And the rest of Europe), the base model is a 1.3 litre turbo (Yes, a 1.3 litre engine in a 2024 Mercedes) with 134bhp, 148lb ft of torque and 0-60mph in a leisurely 8.7 seconds 🐢
Hey Sarah, tell the truth you studied at some Tibetan monk hideaway for years to do these reviews or perhaps in a coma for six months and woke up with this amazing power. I don’t know, but these are great already can’t wait for the next one.🐧🐧🐧👍
Curious on your thoughts of that cylinder head. My 2020 C300 2.0T just got diagnosed with a defective cylinder head at 60k miles. I’m being quoted $12k to replace at the dealer. It’s apparently a known issue..
well for some of us who have flown the C-130 it do make sense 🙂. A number of different versions actually. 41 years in the Royal Danish Air Force and a couple of deployments gives you that.
When Daimler divested itself of Chrysler I have always thought they took some plans for cars in development. Obviously the Viper, the Tradesman van and this would have been the new Stratus.
Another fantastic review classically, funny, utterly thorough, enjoyable as always! Highly comedic, cute pointer, peppered with British terms like aluminium and door cards. (You should use bonnet and boot more often)😂 So cute yet slightly ruff around the edges (fixed that nail yet?) Ih yeah, and I've never commented on any of your videos, even though I've followed you for years. You're my favorite car reviewer male or female and I did get the C130 reference. I was a flight engineer in the Air Force on EC-130Es a few years during the Iraq war. SO "mechanical" Anyway, keep doing what you do Sarah, love you! I wish I wasn't so much older than you, I would marriage you.. ❤ Have a great day!
Im really intrigued by this car and the transmission having so much extra capability. I wonder if there actually is any aftermarket support to get this thing up to 350 wheel horse and torque.
3:09 Sarah ends up answering the $61,000 question for us: Is this a 100% German-made car? You find out the Mercedes dampers are made in Slovakia and other parts are sourced from Spain! The only thing German you’re buying here is the brand heritage! 😊
This thing needs more modes. Like drop off the kids at school mode were only the passenger side doors open. Mall mode where the car doesn't pay attention to pedestrians. Hiway mode where the car goes 20mph over the limit with a sense of entitlement. You know, modes like that.
And extra credit given for broken nail, dust floating by and horse licking paint, the Most Complete Car Review EVER !

Gotta give Sara props matching color outfit
@TheSara200424 - agreed - hmm, this highly knowledgeable vehicle reviewer wears an outfit that matches the CLA250 color, sweet.
Always.
Also that incredible smile......framed with crimson lipstick!
I'm a sucker for that.
Quite a short skirt though.
Always on point
Like flying on a c130. As a former CH47 crew chief I completely appreciate your analogy. 😊
As a former 130 load, I dug it, too.
If you know, you know.😂
Thanks as always for doing such in-depth & amusing reviews for us 🙂 you’re just the greatest! ♥️
Love all of the graphics you're using! Another great review!
Thanks
12:50 - it's the hilarious little non-sequiturs that make Sarah's reviews so much fun!
Lost it until I realized you said "No fake TIPS" 🤣
Great review.
At least I'm not the only one that "heard" that.
Got my CLA 250 new in 2014, base price was only $29,900 back then! Inflation sucks! My sticker price was $47,352, fully loaded.
That coupled with what ever renault is charging Mercedes for that 4cyl engine. And the standard added tech for this model year makes it balance out...yes they're overcharging since it was introduced. But give it one year depreciation and it may be a solid buy.
I agree with you. I love dual clutch transmissions/gearboxes. I like that car also.
another great review! I lol'd when you put the graphics on the fake exhaust tips... you always add the best extras to your reviews. Thank you for all your hard work!
Those fake exhaust tips are a deal breaker, even at the price of the peasant model! Thanks for another outstanding video.
Yeah fake tips fake vents and interior speaker engine faking on so many cats its getting annoying!
Fake tips are there to stop the soot that builds up from DI engines, fake speaker noise is whack though.
@@mikehawk120 no exhaust out back then is my point haha
Thanks Sarah for pointing out the fake tips. The masses probably don't know or even care but us nerds know better.

Sarah! Another great review. You have always been awesome, but you are really on point with this one. And as always, so lovely to look at and to listen to.
Love your reviews and your channel! $61k for this is ridiculous. So many cars I would buy before this.
Don't know why I've never noticed it but all the sound effects and on screen icons are very reminiscent of old PS2 menus. Nice.

You were talking about the GTI; in fact, that car in its base model is directly targeted at the same demographic.
