If it’s over 50 for 13 it’s beyond insane and all parties need to remember fans pay for this bs at the gate even though the gate is only 1/8 of total team money.
*Net Worth -* Hal Streinbrenner: $1.5 bil Steve Cohen: $21 bil -Hal (who is no George) is on record many times saying Yanks payroll is not sustainable in the long run -Immediately after WS, Soto went out of his way to say no team has an advantage (meaning Yanks) -Scott Boras as an Agent who always pushes to get the most... ...are all advantages for the Mets. Almost all players in the modern era have signed with the team that has offered them the most money (outside of a few million dollars difference). Yea of course he could sign with the Yanks if the Mets offer say ONLY $10 mil - $30 mil more, but Cohen very easily can just add $50 mil to whatever Yanks offer. At some point Hal would cease countering & its very unlikely Soto signs for $50 million dollars less. So if Cohen really wants him, which all reporting says he does, the most likely scenario is Soto becomes a Met!
I was thinking the Adames thing could be Sterns helping his buddy out. A check in by him could help Adames market. He did bring the kid into the Brewers right? Could be just part of the game. Prob not, but it could be.
Hi guys , I ve been listening to these sports writers for two years now , I notice two trends 1. They seem to have a bias toward Yankees and dodgers when it comes to who the Mets want , potentially pre driving up price and 2. Spreading rumors to upset teams present players ? What do you guys think ?
@@gwong1544 I think both can be true. The Yankees and Dodgers will always be apart of the conversation because they are up there with the Mets when it comes to money and being a hi gf profiled team. The spreading rumors we just have to take with a grain of salt and so should the players. Cohen has a plan. I’m pretty sure him and Stearns know who they want and will have those conversations. Like we said. Unless you hear it from Passan or Sammon first then ignore it.
@@mikestiehl3665 Tucker is not better than Soto offensively. Don’t know about his defense. I will say this, not a bad back up option if things fall through but I’m sure the Astros will be looking to extend him.
I tell Soto do u want to be like manny and Ortiz to the met fans and be a god in queens or just another word for the yanks that most fans don’t even like even though without him they don’t win in 2009 and yanks are looking at 25 yeats without winning. It’s a big difference.
I agree 1000% if Mets get Soto they getting Pete and pitchers either burnes or crochet. If ur going all in ur go all in. Not half way. Not with how this dodger team is now and what else this will add this off season. NL winner is World Series winner for the next 3 years at least. Write it down
@@Frankie515pr the defense is a definite concern. But I think the offense is enough to override that. Don’t know if he will get the Ohtani type money though.

Cohen can buy the yanks and Steinbrenner 15x over. The Mets are that team now. The world is changing fast. Everyone gonna get used to it real quick
Soto and Roki makes the most sense at there age . Then try for burnes and Alonso roki crochet and Soto and then other moves

@@Standdividedfalltogether I agree. Think Stearns just checking in and keeping it in his back pocket just in case.

The Cohens love Lindor like a son...there is no way that Alex said that about Soto being captain.
@@MichaelAngelo-l5s Right! Most ridiculous comment that I’ve heard from a beat writer/insider this offseason.
If the Mets don’t get Soto , they have to get burnes and Roki

Get roki burnes soto and Alonso . F the dodgers
I’d rather have Manaea and Sevy back than just burnes
Soto Roki Alonso burnes crochet . Get me Soto and at least 1 or 2 of these guys besides soto
Again Roki Soto and burnes … after that is money

Alonso is not close to Gold Glove
Pete Alonso had His chance with the Mets, He rejected it.

And we still need Pitching
