This was genuinely helpful. As someone who played the whole game on easy because they’re just terrible at it, this was extremely manageable and a really great way to get that higher level gear.
Awesome guide. I did basically the same thing, but with a few small tweaks. 1. Hallowed Massif Farm lesser enemies until gear lv. 160, then I unlocked and cleared Western Keep to unlock the Marauder class. 2a. Unlocked Hallowed Massif level 200 and farmed griffin focusing mastery points on Charged Attack Break Damage, Ability Break Damage, Strength, then drop rate. 2b. Instead of brutal tackle I used the Tomahawk skill (unlocked from the dark knight skill tree but usable on marauder as long as you have a great axe equipped) as it allowed me to keep my distance until I could gear up, as well as being able to hit the griffin in the air. 3a. To make getting to the griffin easier especially the first time at 300 it is helpful to note that the chaos gate fight is actually skippable as well. During the fight you can trigger an avalanche which will reveal an illusory wall of ice that can be attacked to be broken. Taking the path through the cave will lead you out back to the main route shortly before the next cube. 3b. Tried to use gear with marauder affinity to get an additional 11.3% charged break damage and an additional stage of charge build up (250% affinity) and either paladin or pugalist affinity for the max hp break damage and strike break damage respectively. Can still be difficult to down griffin with 200 gear, but one can either also synergize and upgrade the gear, or alternatively grind the wolves at the beginning as mentioned in the video. Either way thanks for posting and showing this spot to the community.
This was great! There is also a few different dark orbs around the area that can give you item drops to boost your level. I assume you could restart the mission if you need more gear to kill the gridfin

same area but secondary mission : speed run to the door key, then to the boss, kill it = 13 animas in about 5mins and many loots using 400% thief geared with luck and drop rate stats.
How much do you have to optimize for level 300 missions to not feel like you're whacking on boring hp sponges that can 2 shot you if you let your guard down? Job master points are miniscule stat bumps that change literally nothing. What else is there to do beyond chasing affinity bonuses?

I already said this in the anime grind video but grindtime can be shortened if you have another player be host and camp the checkpoint cutting down the time it takes to run back to it
The problem here is that you will miss out on the loot drops for this if you do that. For the shards it’s no big deal, but for high level gear like this you want to get the drops to dismantle. However you are right though, this is good for the crystals and it’s also easier to get to this with the help of others too!

Level 300 chaos content is brutal. Even if you’re character is completely maxed you can still get 1 shot by some things. Imo most people will not be able to handle level 300 chaos content without being carried by good players. Also there is a season pass with 3 packs of content coming which will all probably be harder than what we currently have. The game has chapter select. Even before finishing it, you can replay any mission you want on any difficulty. So that's kind of like new game plus. The endgame is what you see in this video. Grinding Anima crystals. You use the Anima crystals to unlock harder versions of every mission in the game, which drops higher levels of that gear. For example, let's say you like the armor that drops in mission 3 but it's too weak now. Once you unlock the level 300 version of mission 3, you can get level 300 version of that gear. However, it gets expensive to unlock more missions at level 300. About 250ish crystals needed per mission. And the method in this video shows you getting 3 per Griffon kill. So it depends on how much you like grinding for completion. But you do not need to unlock every mission at level 300 if you don't want to. There is no trophy/achievement for it, so it all comes down to how much of a completionist you are.
At first I thought you were just running for the crystals and restarting the mission haha. It's an interesting farm. I wish the chaos difficulty was better balanced so A) this kind of cheese wasn't possible and B) you'd feel rewarded for progressing "normally" because at the moment the jump in level from one mission to another is too steep and you are punished too heavily for any item level difference bigger than 5 it's absurd.
Fuck off with "lol this type of cheese shouldn't be possible". The level 300 missions require 250+ crystals to unlock, and there's like 20 missions to unlock. If you were farming crystals the "normal" way you'd only be able to get 50 to 75 per hour, and that's assuming you perfectly kill all the mission bosses with no trouble at all. This amount of playtime padding shouldn't be acceptable. Thank god there's no trophy for getting every job to 99 and every 300 mission unlocked because that'd be 20+ hours of nothing but mindless grinding.
Yes. Your equipped gear is what makes you strong. Not your job level. In fact, your job level can't go higher than 30 UNTIL you do this. So you're fine.
Honestly this is sub-par. Good for early grinding tho.
