Hi I need some explanations pls. The dreams being refferred are accompanied with the wotd"we" .Does not include The Man?. If it is so then the last lines referring to only standing room for his dreams makes sense, because he The man came into town meaning that he has left and the poet has been the one to stay behind. So perhaps The man with the unselfish outlook was the one who had fulfilled the dreams that they all had as children . The man returns with the falling rain life has been good, but also to leave and become something in life and return. What about the TENSE in which the poem has been written? I remember. Then the past tense which might indicate that the poet is drawing a.contrast between the man of the village with humble character to this professional person. The role of the poet as villager with dreams contrasts with role of this humble person with his altruistic dreams . So The man left and the villager with dreams to have a professional stayed behind. The coming of The man has a clear message you can have a professional career but remain humble and return to your roots to do good.
