What is Flavor Profiling? | Slayer Espresso Extraction

- Slayer brews espresso in a brand new way. With exclusive flow control, enabled by a precision needle valve, Slayer Espresso machines give you the ability to manipulate and transform the flavor of espresso. Use the brew actuators in various patterns to take control of what we call "flavor profiling".

What is the different in taste of each type pressure??
This is great concept but what I didnot get is which way is the best to extract ??
Hello Sagar Raut, very happy to guide you into understanding our results. Feel free to send me a direct email, sarah@slayerespresso.com. Looking forward to a digital conversation with you.
Slayer definitely can make God shots. However, it’s time for Slayer to add true profiling to the shot. Going back to the soak position of the paddle is just “trying” to profile-faking it.. We’re now faced with Dalla Corte Mina, Lelit Bianca, and Decent DE1.4+, as well as Modified GS3 MP,etc. Time to see if Slayer can come up with it’s own version of what’s happening.
This is an old comment but that’s not true. While you can make fine adjustments, it’s a different technology. Flow profiling has massive benefits vs pressure profiling. Mostly because all pressure profiled shots are always basically “Bump shots”. The pressure goes above where you want the pressure to be before being ramped back down.
FYI: I owned a Bianca, upgraded to a GS3 and now own a Slayer.
Please consider, when ever you change pressure you will change flow also, vice versa!
Make coffee great again 😂
wait so there's only two positions for the paddle?
Technically there are 3: Off, Needle Valve/Restricted Flow Rate, & Full Flow/9-Bar.
Time for some new content guys. BTW, isn’t all dialing in, every aspect, including machine hygiene, “flavor profiling”?
Well, I suppose a dirty machine imparts a poor flavor, but we are talking about using pressure to pull out nuanced flavors (via finer grind).
Slayer Espresso Machines Cool. Slayer is alive and well. Any Slayer response to the newer “flow profiling machines”? Dalla Corte Mina, Decent, Lelit Bianca? Why doesn’t Slayer make the needle valve adjustment knob into a paddle so the flow can be controlled on the fly in second position?
(I’m familiar with what the machine can do)
@@laurencegoldman4639 Hey Laurence. Always love hearing what people desire in a machine -- that's how we end up creating the innovative features we're known for. Since you're familiar with using the needle valve, you probably also know that being able to set the needle valve and then fine tune via temp/grind/pre vs full is precisely what you need to get the delicious espresso we are all chasing. Focusing on the variables one at a time has proven to be the best method of dialing in for us. What about for you?
Slayer Espresso Machines I’ve had a one group Slayer on my wish list for years. And have been to nomadic to take the plunge. I own a modified r Strega, which has a pressure gauge and rheostat on the pump, so I have a lot of options. During lockdown I’ve been looking at a lot of RUclipss. Flow profiling seems to be available now in quite a few “pro-Sumer” machines. It seems it would be advantageous if Slayer offered the capability to manually adjust the needle valve during the shot. It wouldn’t take much to “exteriorize” the blue knob, or modify the paddle itself, to allow continuous flow control. (I’m sure without this Slayer does great for the most part.) People have been pulling espresso with Turkish grinds-via long pre-soak, a “blooming pause” and very careful flow manipulation afterwards. I think this kind of thing opens up an expanded space of what is possible with “flavor profiling”. Nice if Slayer introduced some changes.
@@laurencegoldman4639 Ah man, one of these days I hope you get one! Fun fact: you can definitely order a single group with the external needle valve, no sweat. It's just not how we make them stock.
very confusing! isn't full left full pressure?
Yes.
Good video tecnically, but nothing is clear about it.....
Hey Andrea - you can control a lot with each position of the brew actuator at different stages of your extraction, which is why each position can have multiple names. You can learn more about this in our SlayerEDU Advanced Saturation Technique Video here: ruclips.net/video/kdlh5cxl64o/видео.html
fake coffe machine
LOL, I assure you these machines are real. And really awesome.
