This is 11/10 times more watchable than any "Oh hey guys today we're unboxing" video. Well done boys :)
Many times those types of videos feel more like, "hey guys, look what I have and you don't" rather than "look what we just recieved and watch our journey on the ins and outs of our project"
I hate those videos, they are not very interesting for what “we like”, but if you sent this guy a present you would also like to have him saying thank you. Try once, otherwise just skip them😉@@IvanOoze1990
I just googled it, can’t seem to mail order a Dave, well atleast not one who knows how to do wiring
You don't have enough likes on Intagram to unlock that feature
If you find the right site, you can order a Dave who does wiring. He just doesn't wear pants... so it's a bit of a risk
I’m having the same problem. Lmk
@thenuffnuff We just normally don't wear pants, it's just what Daves do
Love that the mcm lads are getting a first run of haltech gear and sharing it with us. Shows how much of a name they have in the scene.
Well done Marty and Moog!
Haltech should make a dash that somehow has an analog dial. Like a big programmable analog dial in the middle and two screens on the side. Love analog dials.
You could make one with an Arduino and an off the shelf gauge from Jaycar
You could set up outputs to drive a gauge with various haltech products
I don't know why but the display on the dash gives me hardcore Need For Speed Underground vibes and the gear indicator especially seems like such a neat feature. I don't know why but that's just awesome! Awesome product! Definitely worth the investment.
Finally i can get the "Tabby" gauges IRL!
as a owner of a ic7, you dont need to sell me on it guys lol. I do appreciate the continued customer support though! just shows Haltech is a company that values its customers
My instrument cluster just shat itself, and ive been thinking about moving to a haltech ECU for a while, i think this just sold me.
This WILL fit your Honda !
Love it, awesome job I love civic content. Great looking dash.
I was just wondering .. is Dave a full on Electrical Ginger Beer, or an auto sparky? . either way .. he is a clever dude. .. Being able to customise the splashscreen/background I think is a really smart move on Haltech's part.
The sick drift got me good😂
Soo glad i bought a mk1 Clio 22 years ago i got all the gauges from factory oem. Magnesium wheels , 4 branch and rear disk oem ,just added down-pipe back stainless, piggy back Superchip, Spax, k&n,toyo Tr1, flowed head and a volt gauge where the analog clock was, avital max 3 alarm . Lots of maintenance needed yes full of dents but it lives in in the street not under a blanket.
That is Awesome, when I was reading live data on my car I found that PMC can see what gear my manual trans is in and the OEM dash doesn't show it. That is one of many items I wish my cluster would show... doesn't show temps of any kind either. I can see getting one of these as a Mod in the future.
This is freaking cool!
That Honda civic with Turbo it goes really fast out Road Race Track Well Done installing a digital dash Marty and Moog👏👏👏👏👏
Dave has the most ASMR voice and tone
Great option!
Great looking dash
Love it, awesome job I love civic content
Dave is such a great dude, big ups!
Everyone needs a Dave! 👏👏
Dave is amazing. That is all.
Haltech are just car dudes, they know what we want.
Keen as to turbo my d16, but can't afford to do it properly so it's nice to see this series for when I get money for an ecu and tune.
About time that Haltech give support for screen customisation. Personally i much prefer the display and versatility of the powertune dash, but its always nice having it all 100% compatible with your ECU.
its good that other ecu/dash manufactures like powertune and Link exist because thats proper competition that forces everyone to make the best product
Next step, OLED display for that perfect black instead of the greyish LCD-black.
Another great video guys.
Will we see you popping up with Tuning Fork at the Time Attack?
Love Mighty Dave Mods….
Love my iC7 dash and looking forward to these updates.
The fuel level gauge is the hardest to set up 😢
The best second four wheel drive channel on the Internet.
Yeah I'm down the rabbit hole on this stuff since I want to do full stand alone ECU and power management with a digital dash!
Haltech display!!! It's going IN THE BINnacle
That is super neat. And hell yes, sausage rolls is the way.
Big fancy when I changed mine over I just went with the one with the blue round it so it matched the crappy one with no taco I took out
Haltech needs to make that IC7 a little larger or make a version that the side buttons are separate so we can get a wider screen. I like mine, but having it in my Z it just feels small compared to the factory instrument cluster. 🤷♂️
Separate side buttons would be amazing. Would enable the possibility to wire the buttons into something like steering wheel controls or trip computer buttons
@@markusp9569 should be able to do that with its inputs
I hope this means we can now use and program the pd16 via the dash because atm as far as haltech are concerned you could only program and use a pd16 if you had an ECU to program through. So for those of us that still run a carby setup you couldn't previously program (send out ) from the dash to a pd16 because they weren't on the same nsp network system
Oh yeah. That would be great on my carby powered projects
If i could run a pd16 and dash.
Sausage rolls!! ... so miss those having moved to the US
damn would love to see yall install this on a frs/brz
It's great that we live in an era where you don't need to bolt on a ton of additional gauges just to have all the important information in front of you.
❤Im here for all the esoteric wisdom! And also David's stripper and crimping skills!
About time.
Been waiting for the Civic to return.
Waiting for an epic track day❤
Thats cool, I have a Del Sol and wouldnt do this because the Sols Cluster is retro aff, I would however like this in an all in one unit radio. I do have a Haltech management already
HALTECH IS KING
If Dave goes missing in next few days it would be probably me kidnapping him. Don't worry I'll treat him right!
Just pause ⏸️ 7:42 left⏯️ 3:42🐾 Iconic . Put that on the banner 🎋
I wish they would include a bar style tach template page in the new firmware.
David’s of the world, unite!!! 😊
Dave’s not here man.
More Hondas!
Finally!
does it have an inbuilt OBD scanner thing that would be cool
Do you bring over the factory mileage?
It's a bit of a requirement for safety cert/rego in Qld
do the haltech guys have any plans for integrating android auto or similar? would be cool to get maps in the centre of the cluster, among the virtual guags
These dashes are cool but im a 30 year old boomer and I love the aesthetic look of full analog dashes.
when I get the time to build a car my dream is to put a haltec in it
How about the ODO? Just wondering.
I live a hr away from Haltech & asked if I could pay for them to install my $12000 of Haltech gear & they said they do not work on customer cars. I pointed out that there are videos on youtube of them working on customer cars & left it at that. Should have used Motech or some other brand.
More of this on the main channel
While i have my own screen, this is very neat, especially with the IO expansion. I wonder if it could be modified to act as second screen, hm.
I can’t see anything preventing you from using it as a second screen assuming you have the full ability to customize the data displayed on it. Ie. Could be like the GTR’s that have the 6 small digital gauges on the centre screen.
Oh shit here before the notification even!
when are they opening a shop up in CPT RSA?
It's still a very small cluster...
does it work with stock ECU or do you have to have the Haltech to have it to work ?
Will they make a dc2 dash bezel? I would that
How can I just dump the screen feed to my double din? I've got other gauges already, but for tweaking and tuning why not a basic video out feed out signal for 2500T or R5?
Is that the OBDll version?
This is going to sound super picky, but I wish the screen was a rectangle
I am so jealous. My civic needs about $4,000 in parts just to make it safe to drive 😞
Making me think I need to ditch my link G4+ in my Impreza, already use a haltech WB1 and IC7 with it, but the extra features as I'm sure my link is too old to run them
Can you guys do a update on what cars you have ? There’s confusion on what is actually in your collection . Please can you include motorbikes too if you do the vid
Currently have an ic7 in EK myself, curious as to what the input data for your fuel level looks like 😊
Same here. Mine is definitely not correct.
@haltech pls help :)
@@bikgid81it's rather simple actually. I don't even come from an electrical back ground. I got mine working really easily. Go to channel select whatever avi u on and then input calibration. And use a voltage display for the same avi channel. I then drained my tank and made note of 4 voltages related to the amount of liters( gallons if u wish) as I added in the fuel. I then figured out what percentage each value was at that voltage and then filled 4 of the 8 bars on the input calibration. Works a charm. My voltage range is only between 0.67 @100% and 2.18 @ 0%....
I then added an alarm with LEDS to flash when it gets to 12.5% which is 10ltrs in my car
And just for fun it's in a 1991 Toyota landcruiser with a diesel 1KZTE engine. Not that hard fellas 😎
haltech should make an option package ecu+digital dash where you only get oem specs(temp,speed,rpm,fuel..) and cost like ecu-500€ + 300 digital dash so you can get digital dash upgrade but does not cost a fortune..
what is the tool dave is using?
God knows I should not earn a lot of money, because I would play with these stuff whole day.
2:20 so that means the ECU can poll the display for info and visa vera..
show us how to wire a hoaltech ecu into a stock dashboard
Wonder if Haltech has any plans for releasing specific components for people converting gas (petrol) vehicles to electric?
Why? and Who?
Preorder is not a problem. But Halltec is out of Daves.
Can you or do you enter the cars odometer? Cause if you pull the stock dash you lose that which would be a roadworthy issue?
The ICC software lets you set the ODO
MAAAAAAAD
One of the most important street car needs is a fuel level gauge ? Anything on that ?
Yes there is. I haven't wired mine in yet but it's definitely there
@@edvas02271 say your running a Link ecu but you wanna run an IC-7 dash still possible ?
already a programmable option. my cars fuel level has been set up to work with its existing ic7
@@reaperlux922 Yep, the Haltech dash is compatible with Link ECUs
Do a CRV AWD swap on it!
Apparently early CRV tacos will plug in to it not so fun fact
Mmm sausage rolls... mmm Honda parts. I had a fake sausage sandwich today.
When will the update be available for the new features your talking about in this video? I'm running a nexus r3 and ic7
No confirmed date yet. This is just a preview of an early alpha version that we're currently working on :)
@@haltech but the update will work on the older IC-7?
@@Doctork24a Yes. It will be a free update for you :)
@@haltech that's what I thought, you said alpha so it threw me off
@@Doctork24a alpha version of the firmware ;)
4:07 how does that work with the legal aspect of removing the odometer?
i believe it varies state to state but here in qld im pretty sure you just need to have a record of the read out prior to replacement and have no intention of misrepresenting the amount of km's the cars done if youre going to try to sell it. The same would apply if your cluster simply stopped working and you had to replace it with another one from a wrecker or something
i took a photo of my cluster and printed off a signed statement for safe keeping just in case but it really isnt an issue unless you sell
Odometer?
It's so easy..I see ..I click.. I watch..
Does Scotty (Tuning Fork) or Dave own Haltech or is it just a company that they use?
How do you guys pass emissions testing when running a standalone ECU?
I'm not sure about Australia, but in the UK as long as your car actually passes it's emissions check, then it doesn't matter about the ECU.
Of course, that means having someone who knows what they're doing tune your engine (via your new ECU), so that it does pass emissions limits. That's the complicated bit.
Dear Google, please recommend me more ads like this
If anyone wants to walk me through setting up the speedometer i would greatly appreciate it. Cant find info for honda speed sensors anywhere
Where am I supposed to find a Dave now 😰
3:31 Did Moog just call Dave a tool? He seems like a pretty nice fellow to me.
Not tool, tools
don't show me anymore digital dash stuff, its making me want one for my evo, the more I see it haha.
I want one... but the CAN bus on my VW ECU is like... Engine on: "yes/no" :)
Wait, who's the new guy?
I don't think we can all afford to buy a David for our toolkits bahahahaahaha
Botany Boyz
I hate it when my Haltech promotion gets interrupted by some MCM content
I thought marty's civic was yellow?
What about a fuel gauge
There's a vid on Haltech's channel showing how to get that into the dash. It is pretty easy.
