I hope they let us have a peaceful Christmas, I can't stand this vile woman. She's absolutely annoying. Now this guy, too. Ugh , rich people either entitled attitudes.
Assuming that’s correct I suspect that the brand of feminism commonly espoused today is not appealing to most men and so the men who do co-sign it are often chancers, setting aside their indignation (or perhaps not having any, shallow affect being a common trait of antisocial types) in order to profit off current trends.
The thing here is that Blake Lively’s character and previous behaviour are irrelevant- unless she has a history of making false allegations of sexual harassment- which she doesn’t. People don’t get a pass on sexually harassing someone just because that person isn’t a sweetheart- assuming that’s true of Blake. You can dislike someone intensely, but the law is the law, and everyone gets equal protection under it.
doesn’t mean it’s true. you can ask for respect in a contract when you know you’ll be treated with respect. unscrupulous people will put this in to use as a weapon later. these people have easy jobs and get paid enormously - they have no idea what being treated disrespectfully even means.
I understand your point, but at the same time, I think people are particularly tired of having to listen to people who live lives of absurd privilege/excess complain about how "rough" they have it. It doesn't make this guy's behavior any better (if true), but, yeah, at the same time, nobody is forcing Blake lively to stay in the industry. If it really is so toxic, then why stay? Why not leave and dedicate all her time to fixing it with the benefit of having been an insider? I'm willing to bet the fact that she makes obscene amounts of money (no pun intended) and never has to put in any ACTUAL hard work has something to do with it. Just my opinion. Particularly, people are tired of hearing spoiled Hollywood elites complain about their "terrible" working conditions, etc. It just comes off as ridiculously out of touch and selfish. It doesn't even matter that I believe she's likely telling the truth and the guy she's complaining about is a sleaze ball. These people need to consider how many people have it so much worse. Read the room, so to speak.
@@acc4465 You’re right. That one particular thing doesn’t mean it’s true. But the thousands, hell, tens of thousands of complaints heard throughout the years sure does prove it’s beyond likely. What a pointless thing to say.
@@AxelordSMIJES that doesnt really make any sense tho because its basically saying the fact that other people have it bad means this actress should let people abuse her and not say anything, which is kind of a toxic enabler attitude that works in favor of the people who want to do abuse.

The most alarming part of the story is that so many people look to Hollywood celebrities as role models and as people who have insight on social and political issues.
When I was growing up, my parents were like we were going to give you advice, but it seems like you are better off listening to Rock bands with substance abuse problems. 🤣 Everyone knows an alcoholic c@ke addict can really see what's going in the world, and their insight and wisdom will really steer you in the right direction when it comes to life. Putting Justin Baldoni and the movie aside, people hated on Blake just from her horrible behaviour in Kjersti Flaas interview alone. Women felt so strongly about it because most of us have experienced that kind of exclusive bullying that women can do (notably in high school), and this time we weren't afraid of calling out the bullies.
I just watched it- Blake is totally vile, what a horrid woman. I hope she doesn't have kids (I have no idea), they'd be so ashamed to have a mother like that. I feel for her parents too.
@@SteffiJ-gu1rrThe sad truth is that she has 3 daughters! I suppose that they'll turn out the same way as their mom, bullying those that don't meet "their standards," whatever that is.
I partially agree. I was absolutely disgusted by her behavior during the interview. Due to recent events however, it made me realize we never really know that full story. It could have been exactly what it seemed…Blake being a real b$&ch. However, it’s also possible prior to the interview there were agreed upon topics that would and would not be talked about. Perhaps the interviewer pushed anyway so she could have a better interview. We really have no idea. I do know one thing. I’ve never watched anything Blake has been in because it doesn’t interest me. That probably won’t change.
Excellent commentary, Dr. Grande. Many years ago, at the beginning of my career, I had a problem with a male colleague and I was afraid I would lose my job if I reported him. After deciding my reputation and self confidence was on the line, I reported him to management. He was fired the next day and after he left I found out I wasn’t the first woman who had a problem with him. I was just the first woman who reported him. You do what you have to do to feel better about yourself and what a relief it was to unburden myself of this creep and his unwanted behavior.
@@ouwebrood497 Yes, it takes courage, and legitimate reports should be made. However, I'm sure you can see how this same right, could be wrongly used. ... And has been.
It happened to me as well. I was 23 and was getting harassed by two older males colleagues. They had a lot of power over everyone in the department. When I reported them, the women in my department defended the two men and denied that there ever was harassment. Perhaps they did so out of fear, I don't know. But they were also mean and competitive. I was the one who got fired and it took me years to heal.😢 Those men are truly powerful and can bury innocent women.
I underwent sexual harassment situations several times, and I fought with it whenever someone was trying to attack me physically or mentally. I reported to my supervisor that one of my male consorts was verbally abusing and humiliating me because of the fact that I am being more competent and able to achieve the goals at work, by this, he told the others no man can HANDLE a woman like me . Unfortunately,no one dares to testify against him. I lost the complaint. But I don’t care and decide to upgrade the issue to the Executive Department. I am proud to report the unpleasant and unwanted experience to my office and department. Those who belittle and constantly humiliate females are SICK! They are menaces to females safety and always try to devastate themselves by expressing what they are. I m not the guilty party. He is.

Interestingly enough, even though Blake might be the victim here, how can anyone forget how she decided to bully publicly, and for no reason, the princess of Wales, Katherine for wanting to keep her health status private, which ended up being a cancer diagnosis. Shameful.
She also bullied at least one journalist who were interviewing her about this movie and refused to apologize when she was called out… they are both wrong in my opinion.
🙄😏…. She could have been fake and put on a mask in public but she has always been transparent, warts and all . Her openness , love her or hate her , should be commended . But, regardless of her interview behaviour , the issue at stake here is workplace bullying, harassment & abuse . That is the core issue
Sounds like a toxic work environment. She should have walked out and cost them a lot of money in the process. If they sued her it would have all come out in Court and she would have been on the front foot.
Is not as easy as you think. She cannot be quitting because then, the film industry would stop hiring her. Breaking a contract it’s a no, no in that environment. That’s why you have CONTRACTS SIGNED.
No, I can attest to wearing a hospital gown while I gave birth. It opens in front to allow for the bottom to be open. I would say that asking her to be nude is harassment.

Justin Baldoni, the actor accused of sexually harassing Blake Lively, has been stripped of an award he received just two weeks ago for his apparent support of women and girls. On Dec. 9, Vital Voices, a global non-profit focused on female empowerment, awarded Baldoni the Voices of Solidarity Award, which "honors remarkable men who have shown courage and compassion in advocating on behalf of women and girls." I agree with you, I see the toxic effects of social media in my son and his peers, late 20's to late 30's. I feel concerned for the even younger group, who have never lived life without social media. The most fascinating thing about this case to me is how easy it is to make someone a figure of hate in the modern age, with social media alone. Blake seems annoying, but having known very little about her, like Dr Grande, I was confused by the disproportionate reaction to her interviews, and this goes someway to explaining it. People are quick to grab the pitchforks these days.
18:07 my thoughts exactly. I remember when all of this was coming out about Blake and showing up on my RUclips shorts and video suggestions. I don’t even watch a lot of pop culture content and I barely knew who Blake was. It was like all the sudden this person was revealed to be horrible but the reasons seemed very vague and I was curious how it became such a sensation overnight.
This makes everything make sense. I was shocked by all the stories about her and Ryan Reynolds on set. It didn't sound anything like what everyone else had said about working with either of them.
This explains a lot. Why Blake was so edgy in interviews esp about her body image😢where she was ‘unusually’ rude to a french interviewer…as she was beloved one minute then suddenly hated…Blake was on edge, reliving trauma etc
Crazy, I saw some of this manipulation as it was happening, despite not being a fan or watching any of her content, these videos and articles came up in my feed. I watched a couple. She may not be the greatest person, but this is why people should take things with a grain of salt online. Thanks for the breakdown, Dr. G!
Yes, I also had my doubts from the beginning. But it looked like I was the only one. In hindsight, it could have been bots had taken over certain comment sections.
Highly highly doubt someone as rich and powerful in holllywood as Blake lively and Ryan rebuilds could be hurt by a no names “smear” campaign. What went viral were her own actions, words and attitude. She smeared herself 😂
Yeah I knew something was off. People were calling her a bully and monster because she was a little rude in interviews. It seemed like such an overreaction.
@@daynabailen4331Yes, it's superweird. She didn't even do that much in those videos. And now there are still comments like that. Even though harassment and a smearcampaign are way worse things to be guilty of.
Well, she did mock Princess Catherine’s cancer. She was really awful to the gossip girl cast and called some of them monkeys on a press junket. She bullied Leighton Meister also.
Just disliking a person for their behavior should not mean they should not be protected from predatory behavior. I don’t understand how people can pervert justice in their own minds just because they don’t personally like someone else. What mental inclinations cause some people to judge cases like this in favor of the predators? 🤔🤨
I agree. It takes allot for an entertainer to complain about their co star. Especially when they both are established. She has no prior complaints about anyone else she worked with in the time of her career. That says a lot. As a former pro model I can tell you predators do get away with crossing the line all the time but with less established younger people who are afraid of placing a complaint and be black listed.
I was all ready to jump aboard the anti-Blake train until I heard the term “male feminist” and then I was like, oh, no. Those guys are always the biggest creeps.
Lol yeah not a fan of her but it wouldn't suprise me if what she is saying is true. Of course this is all perfect timing for her, since her reputation is in shambles currently.
I knew nothing about HER, but the male feminist part instantly turned me against the guys. There's been too many cases of these type of guys actually behaving worst than ordinary non-feminist guys.

It’s so sad. The movie was so popular. I wish that it was starting widespread conversations about domestic violence. Instead, this is all anyone is talking about
Yes, I’m aware of that. I personally didn’t care for the movie myself but it originally started some important discussions about domestic violence. Now, no one is talking about domestic violence when they discuss the movie
What does that have to do with him violating her? The predators of the world certainly would agree with that rationalization but not many decent people would. 🤔
I don’t like her but that doesn’t mean she deserves to be harassed. I want to see this on trial and see evidence on both sides. Until then I won’t form an opinion
What upset me is that everyone was hating Blake unfairly for the way she promoted the film. I watched the film so I understand why she said the things she said. People greatly misjudged Blake. For these reasons: 1) She didn't falsely promote a domestic violence movie as a rom com. There were other characters too in this movie, and it had the amazing love story that wasn't related to the domestic violence character. Blake spoke about domestic too. But people kept getting mad and accusing her of making it a rom com. 2. Blake said wear your florals and take your girlfriends and go to the movie. Which made it sound light hearted. It offended people because it's domestic violence. But, the main character in the movie was a florist so maybe that's why. 3. Blake seemed to talk too much about herself and came across as narcissistic. But, Blake was talking about the character she played. And that character was very inspiring and charitable so I understand why Blake liked the character and focused on that. 4. Blake wore bright clothing and didn't come across seriously enough for talking about a domestic violence movie. But, Blake didn't believe in having domestic violence define you.

Then people immediately get on board the bandwagon both male and female about how awful the woman is. Sounding familiar? Just making sure I understand. So a guy that claimed to be a feminist harasses a woman and then tries to cover up his harassment by smearing her and relying on the sexism and the eagerness some have to go after women online to destroy her reputation. However, it backfires when people find out, so now he is the one with a destroyed reputation. The irony is strong in this story.
What really strikes me (but not really surprises me) is that he bets on the always present misogynie that can be evoked if you play it the right way. Obviously we have seen this with Markle, Heard, Lohan, Spears and so on, but also with political women like Palin, Bachmann, Boebert and so on. People pretend to respect women, until it is 'allowed' to hate on some woman. Then suddenly everything is fair game.
The big studio should just ban this guy and his buddy and let that be the lesson for the next "male feminist". It is weird how corporation can not handle sexual harassment by idiots. These are the easy cases.
The first time I heard of Blake Lively was when she became the most hated actress in Hollywood. I watched the supposedly damming interviews, and yeah, she did come off as incredibly out of touch and arrogant, but I saw nothing that would make her the most hated actress. @@deanadutcher5877 it is not based to this analysis. it is based on actual video with blake liveley mocking a person who was interviewing her because the interviewer congratulated her on her little bump (pregnancy) and she did not like that.
That reporter who was humiliated by Blake was totally sincere. I think Blake is trying to revive her popularity...not sure it's going to work. I think a lot of men are literally afraid of women because there can be a false claim of harassment.
There was undoubtedly a social media smear campaign. I don't follow ANY celebrity news, and even I knew that Blake Lively is the new most hated actress in Hollywood. Although her interviews and actions were bad, they were not "most hated actress" bad. The amount of hate she received was artificial.
Blake is clearly scared in that awful interview because she had agreed to announce her pregnancy only on Kelly&Ryan the next day and Parker Posey knows this and she is clearly trying to help Blake feel more calm, and comfort her, and help change the subject. It is so rude to congratulate another woman on her "bump" even if you know she is pregnant- it creates body shame in other women and Blake seems overwhelmed with how to handle the comment and still keep her promise to wait and announce her pregnancy the next day on a different show. That interviewer seems like the mean girl she isnt sensitive to the people she is interviewing and her tactic of asking unusual questions sucks- she wants clicks. Thats it. Justin and his friend are creepy and I think he really is like his character in the film. It was a powerful and helpful movie for survivors of domestic abuse. ❤
@Look4TheGood9 Body shaming? There is nothing shameful about a pregnant body. Also, Blake had already announced her pregnancy. The interviewer can't conceive, so it was hurtful to her.
A lot of men are down right terrified of false allegations. I have a feeling they aren't false in this case, but many, many are.. Especially in normal life.
Or she would have ended up in litigation much sooner and killed the movie. It's all a hard choice with negative consequences on both sides. The right choice isn't always an easy one. Still doesn't make her a good person but that doesn't mean that she doesn't have rights or should feel bad for exercising those rights.
@korie4198 How does any of this shine a bad light on her? None of her allegations are anything that ANYONE would allow! Frankly it's terrifying to imagine with what the movie is about that it was probably worst being a cast member where it's all real!!!
@iancowan3527 the reports about her negative behavior were already out when this hit. People already haven't liked her, which is the entire basis of this complaining. My point is even if she isn't liked doesn't diminish the seriousness of her accusations.
@korie4198 Sorry, I honestly haven't heard any of the negative publicity or anything beyond her being in a resent movie... It wasn't until this video I paid any attention to the co-actor! Didn't even know he was anything behind the camera! But I agree ~ regardless of who you are ~ you should always be treated fairly and ethically!
I definitely picked up on what you mention at the end. I'm not even a Blake fan and I did find her to be rude in that interview, but I dismissed it for what it was, it seemed blown out of proportion and then soon started to feel like a desperate attempt to find something to help that narrative, where there is nothing. They really wanted to make the "mean girl" lable trend. Ironically, that PR "expert" saying "you know I'm the best" referring to her smearing article gives true villanous vibes.
Knew nothing of this until Dr. Grande posted this. Saw the movie a few weeks ago. Thought it was powerful. Did not read book. My thought during the movie was wow, that actor (Baldoni) is really good. The character was very creepy and scary. That will be the extent of my thoughts about all of this. Let the legal system do what it does or doesn't do.
I believe her 💯 % she's been in the public eye since forever. So for her to come out now to say he did this speaks volume. He disrespected her and was out of line. I hope she sues him for everything she may have lost monetarily and emotionally. 🤷🏽♀️
I don’t understand why there wasn’t an intimacy coordinator in place from the beginning. Most SAG/AFTRA productions require intimacy coordinators per union rules.
@blackswan4486 He seemed friendly and professional. Talented actor with a lot of charm and charisma. Knew how to make people feel at ease around him. I never heard anyone badmouth him, and he didn't come off as creepy. He's the only actor to ever post on my fb page for my birthday, which impressed me at the time. I knew him from 2009-2011. I'm a male crew member who worked with him on a few Hallmark movies, which are never overtly sexual; so it's not like he had that same power or opportunity, nor was I in a position to experience his harassment directly. Anyhow, it's just disappointing. I will reserve my judgment for when the investigation is complete. I hope he's not doing all those things, but I'm sure the truth lies somewhere between both stories; and knowing what kind of halo effect he had on me, it wouldn't surprise me if he's capable of that behavior.
Agree that I noticed it too during August when that bad press came out. I thought it was much ado about nothing, but especially on Reddit, there was no arguing with anyone. The vitriol seemed unusual to me.
Thank you for covering this story, how horrible. I thing this actions shold be punished harshly, because the consequences are devastating and long lasting.
Dr Grande has made a fair, logical assessment of a group of adults who all seem to be struggling to move beyond their middle school personas and "grow up". I profiled, incorrectly. I had assumed that the studio exec that hired PR rep were both male. For that I apologize. That a female executive and a female PR rep who must have encountered problems in their own careers could still inflict such pain on another woman is beyond depressing. As Dr. Grande has said two things can be accurate at one time, Blake Lively might be somewhat self-centered and feel superior. While Justin Baldoni might be immature, impulsive and irresponsible. With this and what happened on the set of RUST in October 2021, I feel that the entertainment industry also needs to "grow up".
Self indulgent wannabees. Awful book, Hollyweird politics etc... Both sides are awful. No wonder the film industry is dead in the U.S Haven't wanted to watch an American film in ages.
I think both Justin and Blake are probably jerks. Justin is probably a creeper and Blake is arrogant, easily offended, and prone to instigating conflict. For example, the interview she and Parker Posey did with Kjersti Flaa happened way before any of this drama. She behaved disgustingly towards Kjersti. Those PR spin people hired by Justin didn’t go back in time and make her act like that. It’s so true how disturbingly easily the public is swayed to pick up pitchforks. Just as quickly as everyone was being critical of Blake the last several months, many seem to now be seeing her as a victim and forgetting that she can be a victim and also still be a villain; they’re not considering that just like Justin’s PR campaign, this could also be part of hers.
Well, that's true. But more interesting to me is why apparantly Kjersti never made a big deal of it until now. Even claiming the event almost made her quit her job. Keep in mind Kjersti is a big fan of Johnny Depp.
I believe that Blake was sexually harassed on set. People and the public are jealous of her and her reputation is bad so to have any reason to not believe her, people will go with it. Yes Blake might not be the greatest personality, the nicest person or humble or whatever the public want her to be but at the end of the day when a woman takes the brave step to come out with sexual assault allegations - we must listen. Even if we don't like her. I believe her. I support her. I'm appalled by how other women and the press are tearing her down. I don't like her but damn let her speak.

Assuming that’s correct I suspect that the brand of feminism commonly espoused today is not appealing to most men and so the men who do co-sign it are often chancers, setting aside their indignation (or perhaps not having any, shallow affect being a common trait of antisocial types) in order to profit off current trends.
But at the same time, when I tell people I’m a humanist, they insist on labeling me a feminist. Life is so confusing.

Thank you. I don’t know why people think being a bully and (if it is true) being a sexual predator is on the same level.

these people have easy jobs and get paid enormously - they have no idea what being treated disrespectfully even means.
Let this be a lesson to women about guys who call themselves "male feminists"
What about her behavior? His is merely alleged at this point.

Merry Christmas Everyone!
Dr. Grande - just a quick fyi: In the Complaint, it says it was Jamey Heath who showed Blake Lively the video of his wife giving birth; not Justin Baldoni. Love all your videos - thank you!!
A woman assertively calls out inappropriate behavior and lays out which boundaries need to be upheld. She is then labeled as difficult, controlling, and nasty. Then people immediately get on board the bandwagon both male and female about how awful the woman is. Sounding familiar? There is no doubt that what happened is pretty much exactly as this gentleman says. Exactly.
Excellent commentary as usual. Imagine choosing a career where your job is tearing down other people. It takes a "special" person to desire such a career. Hollywood is such a cesspool.
To be fair!! That story "it ends with us" is extremely graphic. I download it on audiobooks and could not finish it. It was literally porn. How can they make a movie without having sexual scenes?
😮😮
And the d v quite intense
Very triggering
Not a rom com
@@heatherhensley9183she marketed it as such that’s the problem it was all her marketing . Regardless of what the truth is she marketed this movie the wrong way and it was very tone deaf to d V survivors . She tried to pull a Barbie/Oppenheimer with her tone deaf husband also
Actually I think the book somehow establishes that the relationship was because of strong sexual chemistry that is why she was enamored with him
@@cristianasaras6898was it not said in the NYT article that she was contractually obliged to marketing it like that and Justin did a switcheroo in how he was marketing it to play into the negative narrative they were spinning about Blake to help downplay the complaint Blake lively was filing against him ? That was my understanding.
These feminist men are the worst, I tell you. A masculine gentleman would never treat a lady like this.
They are manipulators
Sadly they do
Domestic Violence doesn’t discriminate
@ yes there are men who mistreat women but not a gentleman. Can’t be a true gentleman and abuse women unless you’re a narcissist in which case you’d be a fake ie gentleman in public, monster at home.
A true gentleman respects women.
Yes, they do. And much worse. Also, if a man sexually harasses a woman, he is not a feminist.
Well that's wrong too lol
😂😂😂 The sickest burn at the end there. Thanks for the chuckle today, Dr. G. Merry Christmas!!! 🎄
Your comments at the end of your latest videos are spot on. Specially this one. You have my respect
Hear: male feminist Understand: misogynist
It's mostly women who hate on her, guys don't care
Guess he is not a feminist.
I agree with Dr. Grande, neither one of them have come out looking good. “They are playing who is the worst person and they all lost”
Happy Christmas Eve!!! ❤❤❤
The first time I heard of Blake Lively was when she became the most hated actress in Hollywood. I watched the supposedly damming interviews, and yeah, she did come off as incredibly out of touch and arrogant, but I saw nothing that would make her the most hated actress. It's amazing how not surprised I am that it was all a social media smear campaign.
I watched a clip of Blake harassing a female interviewer. I was shocked at Blake’s cruel and disgusting behavior. It makes me think that she might actually be the bully that they claim she is.
Blake is a bully. Blake faced sexual harassment from JB. These two things can be true.
Is there a link to this video ur referring to?
@@juliannajones6016 So, all you got out of this analysis was that she was a nasty person. Really??? It’s a shame there’s no way to investigate these comments like the one you posted. I would bet money that most, if not all, were posted by his lawyers and PR team! We really do need some internet sleuths to look into this! It’s a pretty wild and weird situation in itself. 😃😄
I think a lot of men are literally afraid of women because there can be a false claim of harassment.
and grande is trying to help her
There was undoubtedly a social media smear campaign.
There are contractual obligations when actors and actresses "sign on" to a movie... She may not have wanted to resume filming, but HAD to!
Those are allegations, and should be treated as such, not as facts.
High quality and balanced discussion. Text messages are fantastic evidence in a case like this one.
Feliz Natal Dr. GRANDE.
🎄
Thank you again Dr. Grande 🎄
Wow, I actually knew Justin in his early acting days. Nothing surprises me anymore, but I was hoping he was better than that.
What was he like back then?
Happy Christmas eve Dr. Grande. Thanks for making me laugh, and help keep a chin up, through some of the darker realizations in life.
I remember finding the explosion of bad publicity towards Blake odd as well. Hearing this later on explains it.
I don't know if an actor can "just drop out of a movie" without repercussions. They have legal contracts. Money has been invested etc.
Thank you Dr Big.
Have a very merry Christmas.!! 👍 👍 👍
I watched "It Ends with Us" a few days ago. I got a really creepy feeling while watching Justin Baldoni. I just felt very uncomfortable watching him.
It ends with a restraining order😂 always appreciate your dry humor!!!
This is so messy, all this proves that both Blake and Justin are awful people.
It’s all alleged so by definition, nothing has been proven.
Self indulgent wannabees.
Awful book, Hollyweird politics etc...
Both sides are awful.
No wonder the film industry is dead in the U.S
Haven't wanted to watch an American film in ages.
Nothing was proven. That's the problem with people like you.
So “they’re both awful” means she deserves whatever he wanted to do to her? 🤔.
@@emilygoogle6520it’s often hard to prove someone is a predator. They don’t usually express those behaviors publicly. You understand that, correct? 🥴😏
I watched a lawyer go through the documents. It made me angry just listening. What happened to professionalism and decency?
Agree!
Yup.. but because she’s a woman your not allowed to criticize or even question lol . I’ll be surprised if my comment stays up
Well, that's true. But more interesting to me is why apparantly Kjersti never made a big deal of it until now. Even claiming the event almost made her quit her job. Keep in mind Kjersti is a big fan of Johnny Depp.
Picture with the cat is so cute.
Dr Grande,
Thank you for doing what you do. You create great content.
Yes the same way she sided with Woody Allen saying he empowered women? Not giving a sh*t about Dylan.
Justin is a grifter.
thank goodness for your insights and free thought!! this is scary!!
