99/100 the adverts are simply for $$$. Take AR torture tests for instance. 9 years ago there were zero YT videos of AR torture tests. Firearm manufacturers send the best of the best to popular YT content creators & nowadays, millions believe ARs can stack up to AKs in every single way. If i see firearm content creators advertising firearm manufacturers, it's an instant hard pass. On the other hand, gun accessory adverts won't turn me off

AK rds absolutely devastate. As opposed to an AR, 7.62x39 rds leave what is noted as, miniature grenades going off in bodies.

Ar bolts tend to break more often.
Ar pistols are trash with astronomically high failure rate whereas AK pistols are gtg.

The root cause of gun violence is government policy.
I run a small 33,000 subscriber RUclips channel that mainly focuses on historical black powder firearms And I am currently dealing with a RUclips strike because I DISCUSSED how I built a chain for a wheellock musket mechanism from the 17th century. Most of my muskets I show I built myself and so therefore I guess I will have to say that they are not home built lol
You know what the damn funniest thing about that is? Black powder weapons are legally considered not firearms. If it uses black powder, it’s not a firearm in the ATF’s eyes, and is not federally regulated. So if you own a replica Colt Peacemaker or a Revolutionary War musket, those aren’t legally firearms, so RUclips has absolutely no right to be messing with you over your channel.

Here's a hypothetical. A RUclips channel that has videos on how to make rockets and also videos on how to make ecslpozivs, white phosphorus and electronic makem-go-off devices. Essentially, Hamas U on RUclips. Why do those guys get a pass? I'll tell you why. Because the numbnuts who watch gun channels then get a gun boner and buy an AR so they can show off to their numbnuts pals can't drag their drooling asses through a video with math and polysyllabic words. The people who watch the channels I described above are too sensible to put that information to nefarious ends.
To be clear, the Sandyhook Bushmaster was a Post Ban configured carbine. So the Sandyhook Bushmaster had a pinned brake instead of a removable flash hider. The bayonet lug was machined off the Sandyhook carbine. The Sandyhook Bushmaster did have a stock that looks like a collapsible stock but was permanently pinned in the fully extended position. The 30 round mags that were used were pre '94.
Of course all of this was buried to make more bad press against "Assault Weapons". The mother of the shooter at Sandyhook knew that her son was unstable, but didn't make sure that her firearms were secured against her son's use of those firearms. She paid the ultimate price. Because she worked as a volunteer at Sandyhook, her son went there to destroy students and teachers his mother cared about.

These restrictions are making youtube useless for everyone. Many of the people I followed are now banned, much of the videos in my playlists are deleted, and the creators that are left are self censoring in hope of keeping their source of income. The comment section has become a huge source of frustration as even totally innocent comments are deleted seemingly at random.
There are really no alternatives either as everyone has basically the same ToS. Our freedom of speech is gone and the world has become a dystopian police state.

Children can't vote, this about age restriction and monetization. If it was about Brandon they would just outright ban gun content. They have literally no incentive to keep it on the platform as it is not monetized. Worst conspiracy I've heard in months.
I think it's a response to gun companies getting sued for their marketing practices whenever a mass shooter kills someone. Odds are, many of those shooters watched RUclips videos (as many gun owners do) and RUclips does not want to be sued for anything that can be construed as marketing firearms or as using firearms in a way that may be illegal for the average user, or otherwise might be the subject of a lawsuit.
Seems to me the problem is these stupid lawsuits.

I love the fact that this sort of a policy change empowers the type of backdoor, under the table gun talk that most of these people creating regulations are afraid of. If a public platform isn't available for the discussion of firearms, then people will turn to non-public methods like forms, blogs, and sketchy sites that have a significantly larger ability to spread false information or seed hateful emotions. Changes like this send people off to find an accepting group, since the people who enjoy this content are made outsiders, and this leads people to falling into self fulfilling cycles or surround themselves with people who only believe as they do. This would further encourage fringe beliefs, which is what most of the attacks in this category are based on. The only way to create safety in a world with differing opinions is to allow all people freedom to see content they would not like, or that may be dangerous, so that the content can be questioned, understood, and properly analyzed. At least in this case we are all free to choose for ourselves.

You're not making a good argument by showing the percentage of a viewers that are under 18 because I think we all know that people that young are not broadcasting their actual age. Their accounts show up as 20 years old or older. Not everybody who goes to a nightclub is over 18 there's something called fake IDs the same thing exists on RUclips.
Unfortunately the only other options would be X or sailing the Sea, but those are FAR from optimal. Really hoping for a genuine, pro-free speech competitor. They may already exist, but RUclips is owned by Google…so…yeah…not likely to be promoted.
The obvious exception will be if you are highly critical of firearms and make hit pieces. Then I'm sure the rules are inverted and you get a YT home page vid.

Wow, when I was a kids I was naturally drawn to guns because they were cool. To grow my interest I had to go to the local pharmacy’s magazine section and stop spending money on comics and to buy a magazine to learn more them. Strange how I didn’t become a mass shooter. Eye roll.

I am not a fan of RUclips Censorship. However, I am definitely aware of the very large number of people who think children shouldn't be playing with guns so a gun channel is not going to sit well for those same people.
My take is obviously to teach kids about guns and gun safety. Because we have the data, we have the science, that is a very effective way to reduce accidents (which can end up lose of life which is tremendously sad) for children. If your channel is cursing up a storm, maybe not for kids? But I don't see you cursing up a storm.
I know this could be considered a "hot take", but.... Maybe it's not RUclips's or their creator's responsibilities to correct your child. Maybe it's actually the pare--

@GetTheFO No, they never let me know. One day I tried signing in and couldn't. Tried to change my password (because I thought I messed something up) and then I search for my channel and it was completely gone lol. Not so much as a warning or email.
My channel was about posting historic videos with music over them. Kind of like the channel "MajorSam" here on yt.
@ltstaffel5323 I'm not lying. The channel was up for I think it was 2 weeks. This was back in 2019 or early 2020. You can also read the other reply on here for additional info. But yeah, my channel was historical edits, so I found and took none copyrighted old videos and tweaked them a bit usually to try to make them look better. Edited the video. Added music over them and presented it in a nature that would be unbiased because it was artistic.

Honestly though it doesn't matter how many policies you make regarding guns and the algorithm there will *always* unfortunately be mass shootings it has nothing to do with firearm content creators it's bad parenting, lack of gun safety education, lack of mental health awareness and support. Finding another platform is not the answer. That’s how the community gets stuck in an echo chamber and slowly dies. We need to be here on RUclips where we can be found by people outside the community who might join it. We need people finding videos of guns they like in video games and seeing that they can be enjoyed in real life too. This sucks, but the fight is here.
