The $100 replacement budget for things I had decluttered but later might need was a game changer for me. It gave me the grace to make a mistake knowing I had a safety net. I was able to happily part with a lot more Justin Case items. After three years I've not had to replace a single thing. That tells me how little I really need to live my best life.
Some perspective on that $100 that will make you feel great. Dawn said she’s replaced about a TOTAL of $100 worth of stuff in almost 9 years of decluttering!
It is so nice to see the collaboration among the ladies that inspire us all. I have followed Dawn, Dana and Cas for years and never get tired of listening to them. I saw your videos and liked the sincerity with which you address every topic. Keep up the good work and help others.👍🏻🙂
If you have your own bathroom, attach a 21 pr. shoe organizer to the back of the bathroom door and use this to organize everything from cosmetics to vitamins to first aid, foot stuff, teeth stuff, etc. Buy the see through plastic pouches.
I love taking a limited amount of time and working on one area. Recently I was at my grandkids home and their mom told them to go clean up the playroom. They thought it would take hours . It was a mess. 😂. I suggested we set a timer for 10 minutes and I would help them. We finished the room in about 11 minutes. They were so excited at how quickly it came together. The power of a limited time as well as working together. 😊
I wish I had discovered minimalism when my children were babies too. I was so overwhelmed by those first few years and looking back I now remember how cluttered everything was and how I bought and prioritised stuff way to much when babies really need so little.
My husband and I have recently started a 10 minute pickup when things start multiplying. It’s amazing how much two people can clean up in such a short time!
Thank you for these tips. I have followed Dana and Dawn (and others including you) for quite a while and it is nice to have a 'refresher' course. I also love the comment about the 'stage of life' and how much do I want to maintain and keep track of. I am on the cusp of retirement and starting to look around and evaluate what do I really want to deal with now. I have decluttered quite ruthlessly (I think) but can see that some things that were so important to me are no longer anything I want to continue to keep up with. Many Just In Case items. Sigh. It's ongoing, isn't it! Thanks again.
Dawn was my first introduction to decluttering and it definitely clicked with me, so much so,that I just went to town on practically my whole house, clearing things out by the car loads. It felt so good and changed my life
Oh my, Dawn absolutely made decluttering make total sense to me. Marie started the journey, but everything sparks joy. Enjoy your content but Dawn is the queen
Yes-yes! Love Dawn’s methods and mindsets shifts! Thanks for re-emphasizing the power of chunks of time/categories -this definitely helps me all the time!😊
Candice, you have been absolutely so helpful to me in this journey!!! You were the first person I watched two years ago. I just realized I never subscribed and don't know how that is possible!! I have been decluttering my life for two years now. It was so hard ripping the band aid off and getting started. I grasped and cried and got frustrated. But today I am still going and I'm bringing years of stuff out of the attic and I can't believe how much faster I'm able to let it go. As you say...the decluttering muscle! Thank you so very much for your continued videos on this topic. You are a true inspiration! ❤ God bless you and have a Merry Christmas!!!
My absolute favourite tip is the first one. I would say that has saved me thousands of dollars and enabled me to declutter faster and better. It works especially well with clothing!
Love all of these tips!! I keep a box in my garage for items I find to donate. I just take them to the box as I leave to go other places. I never even look in the box again before I donate it. It works wonders for me! BTW, this lip color on you looks gorgeous!! It is the prettiest shade. 😊 Happy Decluttering, everyone!!
The maybes are killing me . I feel like I’m so close to finally being done 😭😂 most of my room I wake up now and feel so happy to see it . Just working on the vanity / under bed area . Wish me luck 😂
I feel like we really DO need all the diff “flavors” of decluttering/minimalist “guides.” Lol. I get a little something from all of you guys. Lol. I guess the main driver for me was “just start.” Or less thinking, more doing. Or something getting done is better than waiting for “perfect inspiration” or “perfect skill.” Half done is better than nothing done. Etc. Once you begin to take action, the ball starts kind of rolling as if to follow gravity. It only begins to “unfold” for you AFTER you get up and put you hand to something. So “doing” actually creates inspiration rather than trying to find some spark before you start. Procrastination/perfectionism and over thinking…before I would ever lift a finger…used to be my main issues.
I personally do nót like the broad idea of "borrowing". The item cost someone else money and if I break it accidentally, it may or may not be possible to replace it. I myself have only a handful of friends to whom I might lend something. Not all people care about your belongings as much as you do and I've learned that the hard way of not getting things back.
I finally got rid of coffee cups and saucers. I don't drink coffee or tea, so I never use them. My husband and I each have oversized bowls with a handle that we use for the occasional hot chocolate or soup.
lol, I was definitely that person who got fed up with my stuff and just shifted my frustration to the stuff. It did help to get it out though 😂 Great video!
Yes I feel I am the Queen of saving ‘just in case’ items. I have 5 kids and to be honest I use about 65% of those items throughout the year. How do I let that go?!
I absolutely love the minimal mom - question have your taken any of her courses or just fellow her on RUclips???? I have never taken her class but I’m curious

Dana, Dawn, Cas from Clutterbug, and Diane in Denmark have been my mentors on my decluttering journey. I recommend them to anyone who is on this path.

Candace, I’m loving these videos of you giving credit to other you tube minimalists. You all have been a help to me in the decluttering process. 😊
Wonderful advice! Thanks so much for sharing your story and information gained from others.
Love Dawn, Cas, Dana and YOU!!!!
I'm always rooting for you and your success!!!!!
Thank you so much!!

I just got up and decluttered the attachments to my hair dryer that I’ve never used! Thank you!
You did such a good job representing Dawn in this video, Candice! She totally changed my life in 2020! Great video! ❤
She really is an AMAZING authority on decluttering and minimalism =! I learn so much from her!
My absolute favourite tip is the first one. I would say that has saved me thousands of dollars and enabled me to declutter faster and better. It works especially well with clothing!
Bravo 🎉 You said all that very well! The Minimal Mom is who I started decluttering with.
I always love watching Dawn.
She’s the best!
I love @TheMinimalMom tip of having a donation box in every bedroom so you can toss clothing items in right then
I'm so glad you shared their course I'm a member and it has changed my life in so many positive ways

I've always been hung up on Justin Case items 😩. This video has been so helpful. Thank you!!
❤ the video & how you support other content creators. Thanks always for sharing.
Minimal mom rules!!!!
Love the minimal mom!! She’s awesome 😊

It's so hard to struggle to decluttering our stuff but I do love the tips on how to solve the problem. 😊❤ Genius.
I finally got rid of coffee cups and saucers. I don't drink coffee or tea, so I never use them. My husband and I each have oversized bowls with a handle that we use for the occasional hot chocolate or soup.
Not sure if you craft or sew at all but I'm struggling to maintain systems in my craft room. Could you make a video for that? Love your content ❤
Yes, Dawn helped me too!
lol, I was definitely that person who got fed up with my stuff and just shifted my frustration to the stuff. It did help to get it out though 😂 Great video!
I just found you, and really enjoyed your video! You’re a joy to watch. 😊
I've been a 'just in case' for years. My elderly life getting simpler it's easier to know which things I won't need. And wanting to simplify.
Great video! Also, where is your sweatshirt from! LOVE IT!
Thank you!! And target!
Isn’t Dawn the best ?!?!?!
Thanks!!!

I haven't ever taken her coarse, but I REALLY want to!
As much as I like your videos, I would love to see more of that cutie pie dog that cuddled up onto the bed toward the end of the video 🧡
same!
“Just in case” is my worst enemy.
I cant get rid of "just in case"
Items. I am just too damned CHEAP and i think of all the money i have spent on the stuff that i dont really need.
omg your dog❤ what's its name?😊
Her name is Suki!!! ❤️❤️❤️
👏👏👏👍💞
The "take it there now" is a good idea if you don't have ADHD lol
😋
Just in case not so much
♥️👍
👋🏾;)😘😘😘😘😘🇫🇷
I just keep stop wasting money whi h is not tooooooooo buy......its called a need or a want ....
Great tips. But actually, Dawn got “If it’s not a clear yes, it’s a clear no” from Cas at Clutterbug in their “Take Your House Back” collaboration. 😊
