I'd say any time has been weird, even before that decade's time :p Protecting your core for real and remembering what you were and what you want(ed) to be (before getting affected by certain things, in bad ways obviously) is what matters most on a personal lvl, I guess.
I agree. I was only 19 or 20 when first listened to this. This whole album. It reminds me of a time when I could have done anything. I still can tho. Now is the yesterday of tomorrow. But no. I want to go back. Or I don't know. I want to feel that freedom again. While the blood is still running through my veins.
Well resemblance is correct, I think its the voice. The Editors are great. Joy Division's music, for its time, was not radio friendly and Ian Curtis wrote such profound lyrics, haunting as I like to call them. Thats where I see the difference. Interpol is much more similar Joy Division, but Interpol is NOT Joy Division. Besides, no band wants to hear "hey you sound just like...." altought they damn well know they do.
Please... Editors will never stand were Joy Division was, Nor is the singer from Editors gifted like Curtis... He wants to be too clean... Ian Curtis was ultimate rawness, pureness. You felt his grief. I don't feel a lot with this except moving my foot a bit.
Awesome. Yes, both awesome bands, but I think Joy Division takes the lead with me. Something haunting about their music that sticks with me. But if you are feeling a bit more cheery The Editors is good for the mood.

Anyone see a resemblance between these guys and Joy Division? Just an observation, don't attack me with overbearing comments about which is better.
@Gutfree9
just vocals but then we can compare almost every band with another ;)

No, Birmingham :)
