    Thanks for talking about the cost of things there. You would think someone coming from America to start a business would have some common sense. You get so many business owners without common sense and it messes with the economy for the locals. I've never heard the term Colonialist in this day and age. I would have said, "Thank you", I think. Some people are just weird about stuff. You would think some of those owners overcharging would at least be able to afford fast internet. lol
    By the way, I heard there is a scam going around certain parts of Mexico where someone will ride up to you on a motorcycle and try to sell you "extra pizzas that can't be delivered" and when you pull out your wallet, they rob you and speed off. Not sure if they are doing that in that neck of the woods though. Be careful.
    What a great video. Thanks for the tour and glad you guys are back together on your trip. I'm jealous of the $25 massages! ha

    Todos Santos IS on the Pacific Ocean. How do I know - we live here and have since 2019. Many homes are across the street from the dunes. I know of one home built on the dunes - which ExPats seem to not like for ecological reasons. Did you make it to Punta Lobos, where the fishermen go out every monorng in their fishing boats? Truly, we ARE on the Pacific Ocean. I guess ya just needed to explore a bit more.

    • @GeneandRenee
      @GeneandRenee  8 месяцев назад

      You are of course absolutely correct! If memory serves me right, I was trying to explain that the town proper (downtown) is not sitting right on the ocean (as with a malecon similar to Ensenada or Puerto Vallarta) but inland a few minutes. We did hang out at Las Tunas quite a bit so definitely know the ocean is there. We miss Todos Santos, the beauty of the area and the wonderful people. Thank you for joining us on the Journey. We hope that you’re having an amazing week! 🙂

    You mention that the prices are high, could you include restaurant prices as well?

    • @GeneandRenee
      @GeneandRenee  Год назад

      Yes restaurant prices are higher here too. You really are paying higher on the Baja peninsula for everything in comparison to the mainland of Mexico. We’re told that it’s because it’s a peninsula and everything has to be shipped in. I understand that when it comes to food and gasoline etc. But real estate here is definitely affected by California both in rentals and sales. I’m going to do an upcoming video with a local realtor and we’ll explore some of that.

      I’ll ask around. Realize that Todos Santos is going to be Cabo prices and much higher than the rest of Mexico. I know a 1 bedroom casita, 1 bath, like what we’re staying in, which is fully furnished, runs about $850usd. That’s pricey! 🤔

    • @GeneandRenee

      Chaz we didn’t but intend to on future travels. Queretaro is not far from San Miguel de Allende (about 23 miles) and we would have gone but Renee broke her ankle in San Miguel and that limited our travels out from San Miguel. From the videos I’ve seen it reminds me of San Miguel. Hope you’re having a good weekend Chaz! 😎

    Gene, I really like your videos but the music doesn't fit... It's honestly kind of obnoxious. I'd rather hear some Mexican music or something very acoustic that's soft. It drowns out everything. It's very nerve-wracking to me...😊... Other than that, I love your little tours.

      CAE, I watched the video again and agree with you. It was different than what I usually use. Using Mexican music wouldn’t really fit either though for here. This town has a very “west coast American vibe. In most every restaurant we’ve eaten in the music being played is American ‘80’s rock. Kinda strange. Again I apologize for not using a better soundtrack for that video. I’ll do better! 🙂
