Great video. What oil do u use for auger geaerbox? Ariens manual says only Ariens L3 for my 13 year old 28” unit or warranty void. I see u use Lucas 75W90 gear oil. The L3 is $50 CAD from Amazon. Went to my local Arien dealer and they said use grease Red and Ready. I thought that was crazy so I ordered L3 from them and paid the extra $10 CAD to get it shipped right away so price was roughly $40 CAD. What is best website to order Arien parts from? They all seem to charge a lot. Local Arien dealer is cheapest here in Ontario Canada.
They don't have a strong parts presence in Canada. As for the oil i did buy some for a customer and it was not a grease. It is dyed red but flows like gear oil. In the video I added about 1/2 ounce.
those flange bolts are known to snap. cheap metal. plus water prob gets in there and light corrosion. I always lube them and light pressure when removing. 1/4 20 3/4 long grade 5 or 8 is what I put in there......
Good video as always. Dipstick is slick and the custom colours you can do with them help you see the oil
The dipstick helps me keep track of the oil.
HELLO MR snow blower its Called MAINTANCE Grease oil CRC or DW40 Will last for years we dont need them here in NZ
It’s not just the grease and oil but the wear and tear on parts like the gearbox.

Custom made my friend... Do you want one?
