This was very helpful. Went to La Spezia today. No excursion planned. We walked around found so many shops and pedestrian walks. Even went to mitili & mitili. It was great! No excursion no problem. Just walk and take in the area.
Very interesting :) It will be mid-August, it will certainly be very hot. As I am not very tolerant of high heat and a great walker, do you think I can take a taxi there to go to a specific location? Where do you think I will go to see as much as possible in the same area?
There were taxis available when you get out that should be able to take you around. We chose to walk so not entirely sure. 👍 we just chose to wander around and enjoy the day, our whole trip was very hot but being near the water it wasn’t so bad here
Some ports we were told not to bring back food like opened meats or fruit. This wasn’t a sealed food. Sealed food/snacks and drinks are generally ok!! Even drinks are ok!

A 15 euro round trip ferry ride to Porto Venere is a great way to spend a day (or at least a half day) while your cruise is docked in La Spezia.
