Mind Switches are the Nikke equivalent of a psychotic break. If you want another reference, it's like Cyberpsychosis from Cyberpunk 2077. Essentially, when Nikkes think too deeply on the fact that they aren't human, and are essentially just brains in a jar, they experience an existential crisis that more or often destroys their psyche entirely. And sometimes even a complete memory wipe isn't enough to recover a Nikke's mind that's been broken from a Mind Switch. Snow White is an extreme example of a Mind Switch that didn't result in them going completely berserk, but instead had "milder" symptoms of losing some memories and having a change of personality.
I had general idea of what a Mind Switch could have been but this explains quite a lot. Because it still seems Snow White still has a good chunk of her memory left over but you can tell she's still missing some. But regardless thank you for explaining that to you. That explains a lot 😊

I like to think Oswald was going against the government in keeping them on the surface. In RedAsh, Oswald says he's a big fan of the goddess squad and would try to help the goddess squad if he could. Some lore says that government officials say that the current nikkes don't compare to the goddess squad. If they had been allowed into the Ark, there may have been a small celebration, but then the government would render them unconscious to experiment and make the "next generation" of nikkes then spout some BS to the public saying that they returned to the surface to continue the good fight for humanity. No doubt it must have hurt him to say such things to them directly, but knowing they're free on the surface must have given him hope. 🧐
One of the most beautiful quotes I've ever heard I feel applies so much to Dorothy's regret: "I suppose in the end, the whole of life is an act of letting go... What always hurt the most was not taking a moment to say 'good bye'." She never got a moment to thank Pinne for everything she taught her, and how her sacrifice saved her life. It was only after her departure Dorothy could say good bye.
This event and its mini game show how the goddess squad are pained souls that deal with it in different ways. Scarlet tries to grow new life when she’s not drinking the pain away. Rapunzel does her best to honor and remember the dead and cares deeply about people around her. Dorothy [redacted] for spoiler reasons. And Snow buried herself in duty to keep herself going and to giver herself purpose. The writers make you love these girls and you just want to see them be happy.

Well, I have the proposition that its more that the Ark is desperate. For all the praises of how Goddess saved humanity, the actual truth is that of the billions of humans that lived on the planet, only a few a fraction is left alive. The Goddess squad has only delayed the extinction of humanity and basically coping by declaring it as saving them. Anyone looking at it from a realist point of view realizes this, as presumably the leadership in the Ark did. And even ignoring the knowledge that Chatterbox and the rest of the raptures found very early on or knew from the beginning where the Ark was, you have to be rather shortsighted not to realize if the Goddess Squad were to enter the Ark that would only signal the raptures that the last places Goddess was seen at is likely to be the entrance. So they're desperate to avoid the worst outcome. It's the desperation of a ruling class that is tasked with keeping humanity alive, and are very literally, if we take the story at face value, at the end of the rope. If they don't enact these cold-hearted decisions, the Ark crumbles on itself and humanity ends for good, at every point of the main story we're told the Ark is strapped for resources and are scavenging what they can to survive just another month or two. Any imbalance folds the Ark like a chair, in any direction. Even before it was completed and sealed, the Ark a dying society, and the higher ups are trying everything in their power to keep the civilians from finding this out and just doing something extreme... like taking themselves out or taking everyone around them out from the revelation. Besides that, and this is just my personal opinion, the writers could afford to also sing the praises of the humans fallen in battle against the raptures and not just the Nikkes. Goddess Squad "saved" humanity, and the Overzone plot is magnificent, I love it to bits, but those bitches weren't the only ones fighting to the bitter end, and some of them, like Dorothy herself, are entirely aware that humanity had been fighting for 2 years before Goddess and the first good batch of mass produced Nikkes came out. Millions if not billions of human soldiers died trying to defend humanity for 4 to 7 years or however long it took to destroy the last human military formations. They weren't winning, but without them putting up the fight, humanity would have lost immediately.
