I really love this car but boy! if you intend to repare it yourself be prepared for long hours of crying. Everything is thight, hard bolted, impossible to get off... You have to be 3 people pulling on some parts to get them off while it would just fall when you unbolt it on another standard car. I've spend hours in the rain and dark trying to fix things left and right. Biggest suffering was the suspension parts... But all of this was worth the effort.

You didn't have bad luck. Old Peugeots overheat alot so if you drive them alot after overeating the head gasket will broke and cooling water will go through your oil. The oil will lose viscosity and you brake your bearing. 😑 The repair costs alot considering that repairing a Peugeot is a mission impossible 🥲

So the exhaust really is restricting. I've got a deleted middle muffler and an aftermarked end muffler on mine and I managed to get it to 235, almost hitting the rev limiter.
@@benjidu78440 Top speed is relative, and a track is'nt the place either to go top. Ive bin there, from a Golf VR6 wanting it to be faster and owning a RS4 B5 with 500HP. World of difference if you ask me. Bottompoint if you want to go fast grab something thats designed for it.

I rarely go fast but it's nice to have a car that can do so when asked while being practical on a day to day basis. You can argue that's exactly what an RS4 does, yes on a bigger scale. It also drinks way more fuel. I didn't bought this car because it can go 200+, I bought it because it's fun to drive. Being able to go 200+ is just a bonus that I only used once.

206 RC is perfect daily drive car for make you smile every time you drove it except fuel consumption. =) At least mine was perfect daily / work car over 8 years. Now its sitting in garage for WRC and turbo conversion.

i own a 140ps 2.0 tdi, this seems way faster, but less torque ofc. i wouldnt compare the two engines cuz one is a daily driver and the other is a sport variant.

older 2.0 or later 1.6 engine? i have test driven the 2.0 like in 2006, loved the power, compared to my 206 1.2(duh) but on the autobahn you could literally watch the tank-needle move at full speed
I bought the 206 1.6 GTi at 19 and now after 2 years I started to enjoy it more and more while i learned it fully i can say its something near to RC but with less power,for 18 years old car i have it like new outside and inside.

@@sural89 because peugeot 206 is still producing here by one factory and due to sanctions we don't have any new models of it here and also peugeot 206 is one of the most selling cars in Iran. Most of younger people and teenagers love 206 and tune it therefore RC is a legend here.

It has a bigger oil cooler than the "normal" versions, and it has a much bigger oil capacity (5,5+ liters vs. 3,8-4,2 liters), and also the camshafts, pistons* different, and the water coolant holes are bigger than a stock car. It's made for high revs, it's made for fun ;) *prepared to attach a turbo such as in 206 wrc.
I had to chose between the 206 and the Clio when I wanted to replace my 1.4hdi 206. What really made me chose the 206 is the interior. Renaults interior are bad and look cheap, everything is missplaced in it. The 206 is more practical and as I already had one I knew I liked the driving position. But the Clio is still a great rival on the track

Try downhill, 220 is possible. With sixth gear 230/240 should be possible. And i have Convertible version of 206, which has 150 kg more. Same S16 engine 136 hp. I don't know what's wrong with this RC
I really like this car! It handles so well and this one loods very good. However, I am a bit dissapointed about the performance. 215 km/h top speed is too low... it must be 225 from factory. It is stad, but not lot moor than 150/155 hp

I have a MK4 Golf, 1.6 petrol, 105 hp. My speedo is very accurate, +1 kph at any speed compared to the GPS. No surprizes here with this car.

RC's are getting more rare and expensive. Honestly its way cheaper to buy a gti and do a couple engine mods if you can do that.

For a 2.0 with 180hp weird it doesnt even reach 220...seems fast until 170/180 then it just "stops"...

A 2.2L bottom end will give turbocharger-like torque while being much less complex and costly.
