- Tesla Model 3 - Don't Pull That Lever! If you are new to the Tesla Model 3, this is a simple how to get in and out of your new ride! Do not pull the manual lever to open the door. It will shatter the window! It is a manual exit lever only to be used in case of emergency. In the event of loss of power or life threatening emergency, then by all means use it. Just know that you will be replacing a window in the near future. (would you like some butter for that toast?).

that window thing is just plain odd. What happens if someone new is siting in the car and wants to get out? Breaks the window, "sorry!" ☮️👋🏽🤠🖖🏽☮️
Apparently a new software update fixed that issue.
It’s so if you are getting kidnapped or brake failure duh
The new update fix this and now if u pull this the window get down if you do so

yeah, I would've too had they not told me about it. Thought I would put it out there just in case.
Indeed or at least hide it away Abit better? For example, you pull a plastics cap off that exposes the latch, they could make money this way to by selling new caps, or just eBay it 😂
Really wish they didn't do a windowless frame, it would make the emergency release less deadly.
"deadly" lol? I'm assuming that's sarcasm, considering the only thing it will do is slightly tug on your weather stripping if you quickly whip it open
I was one of the very first owners of the Model 3. This was NEVER an issue. The manual release has never, from day 1, caused the window to shatter. I don't' know who told you that but they were mistaken and you're spreading misinformation. Thumbs down.
The original owner told me that when I rented it. I was also told later that a software update fixed it. Just shared what I was told.
