Earth was definitely fucked up by alot of missed shots. though considering it was overrun by reapers, i doubt anyone really cared, though i kinda wished they'd at least acknowledge that, saying something like the reapers intentionally parked themselves right in front of the Earth, so that the united fleets had to fight at reduced effectiveness to avoid missing shots, or something to that affect.

    I really wish we had a part of the cutscenes where you see a reaper get absolutely wrecked. If your war assets are terrible, you get extra scenes seeing our fleets getting destroyed and Shepard commenting about it. I wish if we had at or very near max war assets we got something similar but seeing a reaper get wrecked and Shepard comment something positive like "they're doing it..." or something more bad ass. • @Brandonatron711

      I think there definitely should've been a lot more benefits to having incredibly high war assets - I don't tend to beat on the ending as much as a lot of other people but it still seems absurd to me that you can't avoid the negative consequences when the threshold for the "good" ending is 4000-5000 and I finish the game with 8000.
      That's not something I'd ever thought of but it would be really awesome to watch a Reaper getting hit from all sides and not being able to focus its attacks enough to escape before it's destroyed.

      @id9907 2 года назад +21

      Agreed, in game the ratio to destroy a Reaper was 6 dreadnought main gun shots per one Sovereign, and that was with the standard guns, not Thanix cannons. Consider the number of ships in Sword fleet and that more than a few were supposed to have both there should have been a lot more Reapers getting shredded in the opening volleys. Probably another thing we can blame EA for because of their ridiculous time schedule for the game's original release, we probably only got to see a quarter of what the devs wanted us to see.

      The reapers would still win, but I think a great compromise and secret is if you had 100% completion of the series and reject the star child, that you get a cutscene where human’s and some other races come out of cryopods. The implication being that the reapers were given such a challenge that our cycle succeeded where the protheans had failed in staying alive in mass past the extinction event.

    • @OGXenos
      @OGXenos 4 месяца назад +1

      I think as-it-is is good for getting the message across. The Reapers have access to technology a BILLION years old. Exterminating the galaxy is practically a job to them, like an exterminator that kills ants. Even the galaxy at maximum power pales in comparison to the Prothean empire, and the Protheans were just the most recent extermination of millions of others. If you enter this cutscene with horrible EMS, you are getting OBLITERATED. What few people are there are either not enough or not really motivated and it shows. But at high EMS, you've rallied nearly the entire galaxy together in spirit and in person. The galaxy still doesn't stand a chance in a straight fight, but you can make it SO hard for them that they have to really try to kill everybody.
      Ultimately, they still can't be defeated without Shepard getting aboard the Citadel. The difference is whether the galaxy can take a few down with them and survive until Shepard saves them, or whether Shepard saves the galaxy while the fleet gets ripped to shreds as a diversion.

  • @aldenpadilla1773
    @aldenpadilla1773 2 года назад +158

    This scene still gives me goosebumps and we have expected something like this will happen but still I wish they really showed all races fighting together in ground and space. Just a 5 min scene of mostly human ships doesn't do any justice for our 100 hours of gameplay. All respective leaders of asari, turian even batarian should have said 'we are reporting' and give a little speech instead to motivate. Where's the balak's batarian fleet, volus fleet, elcor fleet, blue sons, eclipse, vorcha, salatian fleet, where's rachni, geth, quarians, asari, turian, krogan fighters all fighting together and take out brutes, banshees.
    Bioware really missed an opportunity of a lifetime. This is the most important fight in million years yet they just show a 5 min scene for formality and ignore different races for rest 2 hours of gameplay. Any scene of 'all fleets coming' is guaranteed to give us goosebumps, they should have shown different races a little bit more and it might have been the most epic fight of all time.

If you listen to Javik, the Protheans gave the Reapers hell, reducing the reaper numbers till they were betrayer, yeah the Protheans lost, but halving their fleet that they have trouble replacing, helped future cycles have a chance of finally defeating them) if you follow the reapers in this battle, they behave generally suprised that something attacked them. If I could make a couple DLCs to this game, it would involve the humans of Alpha Centauri tangling with Cerberus, and it would involve protecting the Andromeda Initiative vessels from the Collectors.
    The Alpha Centauri humans would have stumbled upon an Inusannon warning beacon, that would tell them about the Reaper invasion; with their knowledge galvanizing the Alpha humans to start building an armada tailor-made to combat these Reapers.
    After several decades, they manage to successfully construct one ship, capable of going toe-to-toe with a Sovereign-class Reaper and triumphing. The initial goal would be to send a whole fleet of these into Dark Space, but they only manage to complete the one by the time the Reapers invade. And the Illusive Man catches wind of this, and seeks to use this prototype vessel for his own ends.
    The other would involve the flotilla of Andromeda sleeper ships being detected by the Collectors, with Shepard and a group of Alliance Corsairs fending them off in order for the fleet to escape the Milky Way.

When I first played Mass effect 3 I really thought that when you collect the war assets that you actually seen him in a cutscene... For example like let's say you saved Jack and her students.. you will see them on Earth doing airstrikes on the reapers are protecting you with a bear or if you got the blue Suns and the other gangs and you see aria leading them into battle where they can cover you.. or see volus bombers dropping bombs on the reapers or see the game destroying reapers on Earth so they can carve you a path that makes it much easier.... Because I collected all the war assets and I was thinking that it's going to be a badass Indian to see all those war access and I was really disappointed 😞.... Because Mass effect it's supposed to be one of those games that your choices matter and has a effect at the ending throughout the all three games.... I think it would have been a awesome ending where you had a choose your crew or your romance partner and if you don't have a romantic partner than Anderson will be that person and you will have to choose between them and you will have to sacrifice one of them in order save the other but let's say you did all the missions and you have a very high score when it comes to war assets then you can save both of them... Or if you had a decent war assets then maybe you can sacrifice yourself to see them both.... Hopefully Mass effect 4 it will knock out of park.

    The scene is really cool, however I just noticed how unnecessary / unrealistic it is for Shepard to give the WHOLE fleet and ALL fighters the signal when to engage, shoot and whatnot.

    Fun fact: Those bullets that those ships fire are so tiny and look like they will not do that much damage but remember, Space is HUGE, and those bullets are all RAILGUN rounds.

      Their pellets compare to what the UNSC use, they fire heavier & faster rounds. A single MAC would most likely rip a reaper's kinetic barriers clean off.

      Halo weapons don't really make much sense, logic dictates the heavier a projectile the slower it will move for a given amount of energy.
      So either Halo MAC's have so much energy that their ships would probably recoil backwards out of a solar system, or their slugs move at relatively slow speeds.
      You also end up with issues where if we use canon numbers for ship and MAC projectile weights, something like 30% of the ship is MAC ammunition.

    • @GyanPrakash
      @GyanPrakash 2 года назад

      @@ThatZenoGuy Or maybe they are using something like a Mass Effect field to negative the projectile's mass, so it's like firing small ammunition. Still, as soon as it leaves, the barrel effect field disappears, becoming heavy again without losing kinetic energy.

      Halo doesn't have any weird magical elements like Mass Effect does.
      Make no mistake I love Halo, but from a lore-perspective it is 100% smoothbrained.
