Rocked by a spate of students in Kota, the coaching hub of Kota is roping in warden mess workers and tiffin service providers to look for any signs of depression or stress among the students staying in hostels and PG accommodations. One of the major reason is price hike of hostels and mess which puts pressure on some students.for ex: the room rent in 2022 was 10k and in 2023 it is 18k for same room

Lekin electricity bill 8.5-9.5 Rs/unit ki jagah 16rs pr unit le rahe hai ye parents aur bachche ki majboori ka fayada uthana hi to hai, kyanki hostels aur pgs ka number to coaching me admission lo lene k bad hi aata hai, room shift karane se pahle 10 rs bataya, और room में शिफ्ट होने के बाद जब शाम को हम parents को वापस आना हुआ तो कहा 16rs/unit देना है। Auto वालो का अपना ही ड्रामा है 1से1.5 km के लिए 100,200 मांग कर एहसान जताते है, और आप कुछ कह नहीं सकते हो, नही तो.....

More focus needs to be on counselling children .I have a suggestion Sonal , please get an exclusive seek on on Kota with Dr. Vikas Divyakiti his approach towards education is very balanced and may be something from him could solve parents and children’s anxiety.
One observation, that children in this segment ( which is kids app reading for neet)look more cornered than civil service aspirants , or civil service applicants are not getting reported , would like to know about this.
You’ll notice that children at IIT and med schools also face a similar problem , gosh it’s so difficult and a terrifying situation. Any information on this would be appreciated.

I'm regularly following Lallantop Kota ground reporting and after viewing all the interviews I have noticed that no one is ready to take the responsibility of these things. Parents are blaming coaching institutes and the government, coaching centres are blaming parents and government, hostel people are blaming coaching, parents and government, some are blaming society and systems. No one is still ready to address their failure.

main factor is goverment collage.when college increased their seats students wouldn't panic .
Hostel and room rent is flourishing business in Kota. Many of them don't care what financial background one have ..they want rent at fix time.
Mental health can never be improved with motivational seminars which are to just ace in your preparation, it's about addressing your mental state, how to improve well being and focus on your career in a healthy manner.

ये बात तो सही है की पहले सिक्योरिटी मनी जमा कर दो और एडवांस रेंट भी।एडवांस rent तो जायज है लेकिन यदि आप हॉस्टल या pg से निकलना चाहो तो आपको सिक्योरिटी मनी वापस नहीं होगी , ऐसा रूम में शिफ्ट होने के बाद कहा जाता है, और उसके लिए कारण बता रहे है की बच्चा बीच में जाता है तो उनके बचे हुए महीने के rent का नुकसान होगा।
अरे भाई! अगर आप का pg या हॉस्टल में बच्चा बेहतर महसूस करता है, तो वह जायेगा ही नहीं, क्योंकि बच्चा भी जानता है की उसे छोटी छोटी परेशानियां को हैंडल करना ही है, लेकिन किसी वजह से बच्चा मिड सेशन में बच्चे जाते है, तो आपका better देख कर बच्चा आएगा भी तो। सिक्योरिटी मनी डूबने के डर से बच्चा बंधक बना रहे।

mere ghr ke pass bahut sare log govt job ki preparation kar ghr se nikal kar yaha rent pe rehte hai. Bolte hai ki ghr me rehke pardhna nahi ho pata akele reh ke hi pardh pate hai. but is chakkar me anjan sahar me akele bina dost ke rehte hai aur mentally depressed rehte hai kafi log.

Hostel wala is not really concerned about the students! They're predominantly concerned about their business only. One can clearly see from the kind of answers they are giving....
And yes, it's true that kota alone cannot be held responsible for these suicides, but I believe real efforts should be made from both the sides, that is both the student and his/her parents and the institutes operating in kota must take decisive steps to overcome this problem.
You cannot simply put a random statistical data of the students who have studied in kota in all these years and compare them with suicides. It's like trying to make these suicides as random, like they are inevitable.... No, they are not!
That's why students and parents really need to be sensitised on this issue and move forward with their career options, which is thoroughly planned, keeping in mind all kinds of career options out there. Seriously, it's high time now!

15 saal pehle 12th pe aake sochte the ki ab kya focus kiya jaye. 10th se pehle kabhi koi coaching classes ki jaruart nahi padi. Ab 6th pass hua nhi ki bacche ko ya to IIT karni hai ya NEET. Seems there are no other options. This is not a life one should be living. Parents apni life ki problems ka solution apne bacchon ko samajhna jab tak band nahi karenge tab tak ye aise hi chalta rahega. coaching, hostel ye sab iske aas pas faile hue business hain bas.

Sir biggest problem is that, you can understand better if we have senior most family member in our home and suppose his/her age is in 80's if he expires then all family members becomes sad ,as far as a young teenager suicide , how Naveen Mittal, Kota hostel association president going to calculate on behalf of percentage, ask that donkey most families never becomes normal after years!
1. Main reason is parents pressure.
2. Coaching institute should keep more doctors for their mental health.
3. Cctv camera should be installed in room of each student.
4. As soon as doctor or from camera it comes to know that student is depressed, he should be moved to their parents.

Lets talk of one point how many parents will think of not sending their child to kota next year ,will they stop.
When there is a race and the children are turned into a drawing room showpiece to boast the ego of parents this will tend to happen.
When u are in a competition every student want the best and kota is providing that.
And the anchor who has been asking question on 1:1 ratio of councellor for studnet should understand, that giving advice is very easy. If the hostel start providing one on one counseling and charge 500 per session ,will the parents willing to spend 3000 per month on councelling.
