KArl, I have followed your channel for about 1 1/2 years now. I'm 71 years old so I have a request for you. Could you please finish something before I die?
🤣 The ramp truck will be done soon!
😂😂😂
Well said, I’m a mere boy of 69 I love watching this channel, but you’re right so many projects on the go, ummmm bit like me really.
Awesome
@@OldsmobileCutlass1969Vanobody cares about the ramp truck..too big for the average home builder..get back on the cars..
Yeah, chop it. Paint the top white, cut & buff!! It looked great all wet coming off the trailer.
Just to add a quick trivia comment.... when you have the 3 speed shifter on the steering column it was called "Three on the tree,"
Lv the idea of you shifting and seeing caddy emblem..cool
They must be different up there, cuz down in the States the 51 had the split windshield and the 52 was one piece. My house had a 52 and an experimental 54 that had a flat black paint job, power steering, a sun visor, and most importantly Air Conditioning! It was a GM test car that was built to test possibilities for future use hence the heat absorbing paint and the other “ custom “ parts. Spooky was its name and unusual was the game. GM had a test track in the desert outside Chandler and they did all kinds of “different “ stuff out in the boonies and my stepdad worked as a test driver, explaining the purchase of an experimental test vehicle. The AC unit was in the trunk and it had a house type air vent in the “ package shelf “ and he said that at speed you could turn the fan off for a short period of time and then when you turned it back on it would shoot ice from the vent. Spent a lot of my childhood in that car, a drunk passed out with a cigarette going and it was a rusty wreck at its end😢. Then West Chazy switched to Packards😊. That’s around ten years of experience 😂😊
The real question we all want answered- where in this day and age did you get a truck with a manual transmission? *jealous* 😄
A very subtle 2 1/2 to 3" chop would be ace....👍 but that's my opinion!!😂
Very cool Karl. Your talent & persistence for excellence is outstanding. Billy J..... Queensland, Australia.
Yes Sir!!!
She has nice lines Karl. A guy like me would leave the roof where it (due to lack of skill). You'll make it nicer!😎
Awesome
If you have an extra spot in the chop class, I’m all in. Just let me know. Cheers
Super cool!
Super nice project car Karl. 👍👍🎉🎉🎉🎉🤘🏻🤘🏻 Chop in the Shop!
Looks like Langley / Surrey. When I was a kid my dad had a 52 four door chevy.
Looking forward to watching this one! Take care
My ADHD kiicked in...I noticed you kept shifting when you were driving. It looks like you're in a Tahoe or Suburban when you back the trailer up. Don't think I've ever seen a manual trans version of that body style. Pretty cool.
Tipping the "B" pillar is a must! Keep me posted! That would be class I would take if I can!
Wish I could attend!
Looks like a great project. 👍
You do such good work ,and chopping is counter productive !!!
I love this channel!
Hi. I just stumbled across this channel and thread of chopping your '52 Chevy Coupe. I have one myself and have been thinking about chopping it. I am very interested in following your project to see how you go about it and what direction you take it. I was thinking of basically shaving to "bubble" off the front of the roof then lowering the windshield to match the flow of the resulting rake from the rear of the roof to the "A"-pillar area.
What is the latest update of the project and when do you think you'll have a new episode?
Keep up the awesome work.
"Build & Buy to Drive" is my motto. No trailer queens or lawn ornaments.
Great project cant wait to see your slant on the chop
Love watching learning so much. Your a legend 🎉
My first car was a1952 chevy coupe. your project brings back many memories.
Looking forward to watching the chop! I already know it's gonna look great thanks to your artistry and fabrication skills! Go Japhands, keep moving forward!
Nice !! Looking forward to watching it happen … sounds like it was this car’s destiny to be in your chop class !! Love the make her a driver aspect !!
Looking forward to this from the start! Have always been curious about the methods of chopping and the details like factoring in glass & windows among other things.
looking forward to this chop.
BADASS!! My favourite body style of cars. 49-54 Chevys and Pontiacs.
Karl I love those early 50 Chevy's. Maybe Brent will get inspired to get back on his 54 Bellaire
Looks like a fantastic base for your chop! Can't wait to see the new body line with a lowered roof, gonna be sick!🤘
Following this Build
That is going to be a awesome chop Karl!
Looking foward to the chop.
After the class you need to invite Mr Gambino up to do one of his killer paint jobs on it. Looking forward to the class!
Hey Karl, Maybe you could offer the takeout engine to Kyle at Carter Auto Restyling for his Chicken Truck project... Just a thought
Car will turn out looking real good when you are done with it.
The roof will look great in metalflake gold with that dark red.
Tell us more about that diesel/5 speed swapped suburban! I have been following the main channel for a couple years now and only just learned of that vehicle on a very recent video.
This oughta be cool. I had a 53 chevy 210 4 dr. Just drove it for several years then sold it when I realized I wasn't going to do anything with it. Loved driving that car, it ran great.
Let’s do it im in cali can’t make it for the actual class please video it and throw it on the channel
Looking forward to seeing this. One of my long term projects is a 54 Plymouth 2 door coupe, identical body style. A previous owner hacked apart the frame and attempted a gasser style look by grafting on a S10 front end with a step. It is atrocious, needs a lot of frame work. Body is super solid, I will be attempting my first chop on it eventually. 👍
Chop it and ghost lace the top
Looks like it's going to be a good chop. Looking Forward to seeing you chop it.

Paint the top some crazy color with big glitter metal flake!
That 52 is KOOL. There's some cool hop up stuff for the 235, Fenton split exhaust, multi carb intakes, aluminum dress up items. The later 250 is cool too. Not sure if they're still in business but Clifford Research had a lot of hot rod stuff for the sixes. Please don't chop it too much...in my opinion there is improving the styling of a car and turning it into a Charactature.. the styling improvement will be classic forever...the Charactature is next weeks market place fiasco...a standard that an old friend taught me (now understand this is really old school) is don't chop it so much that you can't get an A&W rootbeer mug through the door window! That really screws up old school cruising vibe. Will be looking forward to the chop videos and I really like your new channel!
Was wondering about it when I saw it in your shop. Sweet car. I saw one guy that gets his window shapes for the doors, makes a template, and uses that to build it around, by making the doors first that function ie open and latch, then rebuild the rest.
That's a cool car wish I could attend that class
love to do the chop class
Love the car. I watch Bella's Customs. He awesome fabricator. Made me think of something he does look cool on that car maybe. Put smaller split window in back. You awesome fabricator too. Just suggesting. Love channels. Content. Thanks for great vids. ✌️👍
Happy Days, 😊 Great project 👍
Im on Vancouver island, id love to attend the chop session!!
Very KOOL Should be a good Project
Car is in nice shape
Will you be making a video while doing the chop class? Would be awesome! Wish i could attend a chop class. I need to learn more. I agree, chop and drive!
👍👍

From Down Under 🦘
Cheers
Andy 👍
That’s awesome 👍
What happened to the Zephyr? Or the Cadillac for that matter?
Hello there Carl, I’ve been watching your sessions for some and they are a pleasure to watch. I’m restoring a 72 Camaro going to work on my fenders. However I have a fender inner structure I need some advise on. How can I share images of these with you please? Thank you and hi from Australia
I want to see you chop that top and use the least amount of filler to finish it off.
I have seen a lot of chop videos but no one shows how to chop the GLASS ! Just once i would like to see someone show how to do the trickiest part of any chop job. Cutting that 70 year old brittle breaky glass!!
I hope you record and share the chop! Might give me some inappropriate thoughts on my '53 Sedan.......
😎👍
How about finishing the Zepher instead of starting another car?
Great video man
Pode cortar vai ficar top 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷 mais um episódio pra conta
Hi Karl, why chop the roof 6 inches (for example) when you can chap the roof 3 inches and the body 3 inches?
Hell yeah!!! Put hydraulics too much love from so cal CA
My first was a 40 chevy pick up
Please, swap the engine to V8 350, fuel injection, a new trans, tubular suspension, disc brakes 😂😂😂😂 please, Congrats great car
Karl, you should sell the blue straight six to Kyle for the chicken truck
How is this Escalade a standard transmission? Haha I'm so intrigued
Really annoying to see a good example of a 52 coupe cut all to crap. There are fewer and fewer of the coupes that have survived due to ignorance of what make a classic car a classic. It’s all about the original design concepts in the 50s. I drove a 51 coupe to high school and they are still my favorite body styles. The original top on these cars looks just fine thank you.
Come on G Wilacre‘s 🤓👍
I think your title should have been "watch me ruin this classic car"
Extend the quarter panels.
👍🏻🇨🇦🤟🏻
You call this car a "coupe" and the other body style a "sedan". The proper names from Chevrolet are the body style that you have is a "Styleline" the other body style is the "Fleetline". Just a little tidbit for you.
chop talk
Why would you take a beautiful car, and destroy it by chopping the roof, and putting fender skirts on it, and wide whites ??????
What a waste of a beautiful car !!!
