    The hooks don't irritate the worm. The hooks pry open parts of the worm that are sensitive to sand. It's the sand that irritates the worm, which is why the worm rotates upward, to reduce the amount of sand that touches its body.

      That’s why the hooks irritate the worm… they let in sand.

    This begs more questions like do they retrieve their thumpers before they ride? Also, how many worms or thumpers to get to South Arrakis? And finally, how do you get cargo like the carriage of the reverend mother onto a worm in the first place?

    • @GiantFreakinRobot
      @GiantFreakinRobot  5 месяцев назад +19

      Thumpers are disposable. The worms eat them, I’m pretty sure!

    • @FelipeKana1
      @FelipeKana1 5 месяцев назад +2

      Why would you think they need to retrieve the thumpers?
      Also, the sandworm Paul rode was much bigger than the regular ones they use later for mas travel. Probably much easier to board them.

      the theory is pretty simple...
      someone who is already riding the worm, just turn the worm and pick them up with rope in a circle motion.
      or everyone just wait at the top of a dune and the worm just crash into the dune and every thing ontop of the dune falls onto the worm

    dude if the worm is sinking into the sand, the sand behaves like quick sand that even the rider will sink into the sand, you are talking like as if the the ground was concrete

    I mean it looked difficult for Paul to get on, and his teacher who said “just as I taught you” I’m assuming he did it and they all do it the same way. So how does everyone else get on? They’re not going slowly. How do kids get on?! And the “last on, first off” theory doesn’t explain how they get on or off without incident or how they get the paladin and very pregnant rev mother on…I still have questions after watching this
