The man in the picture is Field Marshall Musa Mwariama from the Meru community. He fought for kenyan independence . He was never captured left the forest with his 2000 soldiers. They didn’t even know Kenya had attained independence, they had to find them to tell than that Kenya was supposedly free.
When they left the mountain, they were told to give up their guns and they had to cut off their locks.
Locks are spiritual, they carry a lot of power.

@@Melanatedsince2000 there are some human figures, some historical human figures, some human & historical figures with names lost through translation, and some human figures with with names lost in history and translation with a story that became allegory, and then there’s just plain allegory and poetry; that great book has everything. You right, many people have taking certain allegories too literally, that’s why it’s recommended to be read with understand, a dictionary, and secular knowledge of history, archeology, sociology, geography, cosmology, numerology, astrology, astronomy, genealogy etc to be truly appreciated it & get the full scope of its benefit.

I agree. "When we" (this channel and I) found each other - I appreciated hearing the patois of the speakers, I felt like I was listening to family speak. (And bc I am not Jamaican) The captions gave me a deeper sense/connection through clarity ABOUT what I was hearing AND I APPRECIATED THE COURTESY/THOUGHTFULNESS of the channel bc of the captions as well. It's why I continued to to revisit and subscribe.
