Rammstein can't be compared with any other band, it's just pure art. If you're really fluent in German, great, you'll get maybe 50 - 60% of it, but if you grew up with the German culture and get all the subtleties, inspirations and whatnot, it's just something else. And I don't say this lightly, I love many other artists. They're special.
We're the children of the cold war, lots to rebel about. Also, the current marketing strategies, all channeled through social media, are directed to children, basically, and much of the music today's influenced by that plus the possibility of producing creative stuff with incredible ease. It used to be that people started bands in their teens but reached some sucess, if any, as a young adult or later, after having gone through a system that didn't make things easy, so they had a lot more to say in their songs.
Was nice to see, that you know Blind Guardian or Sodom. Of corse there are many bands missing like Feuerschwanz, Maerzfeld, Callejon, J.B.O., Knorkator, Richthofen, Lindemann (Solo), Atrocity, Crematory, Die Krupps, Emigrate, Doro/Warlock, H-Blockx...
These clips are way too short to get an impression of any of these songs sadly. It's better to take the songs you like most and listen to them fully imho.
Especially in the late 80s and early 90s, when the wall in East Germany came down, rebellion was the order of the day for us. Punk rock in particular was in high season.
I think it definitely is the channel for this - and yes, Rammstein are joking about never landing on the moon indeed in that music video ;-) I would recommend looking for videos with subtitles or reading the lyrics beforehand, maybe even look up what the videos are about. Amerika by Rammstein would be a good start, remember it was around the Iraq war as it was published. Almost all their songs are very deep, have multiple meanings and are more like poems. And if you just want the show - go for them live, biggest concert with fireworks and pyro you will ever see.

This is because their music is simply excellent and the singing and sound are also very special. Even if you're not a metal fan, you can still relate to their music emotionally.
Didn't know that you're a Metal Connoisseur! 🤘🏻 But don't agree on Rrrrramstein...would consider them as Pop music. 🥱🤭😉 Sadly these clips are most of the time by far to short to represent the real track (and for sure not the album behind). So everything sounds more or less the same.
Most German Singer singing on English because our Country is overloved in English which makes me sad because German is a Important Language with a long History and should be more present.
Imo the strongest German Sub-Genre is Black Metal. German BM is really good, and has no unique german style like other Countries have their own style that you can hear ( for example Finnish BM, Norwegian, Icelandic etc.) Blind Guardians "the bards song" hit me with a nostalgia hammer in this video. same with guano apes.

Their frontman is a rapist.
Mit einem perversen als Sänger.
You like Blind Guardian!!! Awesome, made my day.
I'm missing the genre of mideval-rock like "Feuerschwanz", "Saltatio Mortis" for Example.
And of course Doro Pesch and Warlock
At least one In Extremo song was in there...
Yesss! Saltatio Mortis is my favorite band.

Great stuff.

Irgendwie vermisse ich doro pesch..
fun fact the band that made you talk about gen x (Oomph) is actually older than Rammstein and was a major unfluence for them.
And they are better than rammstein imo

4:55 saw the lead singer at a local punk concert few years ago . He was moshing in that small venue xD
I just made myself clear how long Rammstein exists. I listened to their music in high school. Last year I turned 40. Time flies bro.😮
Ja unsere Jungs haben dieses Jahr 30 jähriges Jubiläum 😍😍
And before they became Rammstein they were in the Band "Feeling B".
i entered the Rammstein "game" pretty late, got my First CD in 2001 (Mutter) .... holy shit time has passed.
