Rammstein can't be compared with any other band, it's just pure art. If you're really fluent in German, great, you'll get maybe 50 - 60% of it, but if you grew up with the German culture and get all the subtleties, inspirations and whatnot, it's just something else. And I don't say this lightly, I love many other artists. They're special.

We're the children of the cold war, lots to rebel about. Also, the current marketing strategies, all channeled through social media, are directed to children, basically, and much of the music today's influenced by that plus the possibility of producing creative stuff with incredible ease. It used to be that people started bands in their teens but reached some sucess, if any, as a young adult or later, after having gone through a system that didn't make things easy, so they had a lot more to say in their songs.

I think it definitely is the channel for this - and yes, Rammstein are joking about never landing on the moon indeed in that music video ;-)
I would recommend looking for videos with subtitles or reading the lyrics beforehand, maybe even look up what the videos are about.
Amerika by Rammstein would be a good start, remember it was around the Iraq war as it was published. Almost all their songs are very deep, have multiple meanings and are more like poems.
And if you just want the show - go for them live, biggest concert with fireworks and pyro you will ever see.

    Current:
Sieges Even, Subsignal, Soulsplitter, Sylvan, RPWL, Seven Steps To The Green Door ...
    In the past:
Michael Schenker Group, Kingdom Come (especially "Twilight Cruiser"), Uli Roth, Zeno, Straight Shooter (especially "My Time Your Time"),, Birth Control ...

To get a feeling about how Germany is ticking you should listen to a few songs in German and please, please do it with a translation of the lyrics. The first three are from around German unification.
    1. Die Ärzte - Schrei nach Liebe
    2. Die Toten Hosen - Alex
    3. Marius Müller-Westernhagen
For the last one you need an explanatory text to get all the little details and the connection between lyrics and video (there are some under other reaction videos) or you react to the song and get your own explanation in the comments
    4. Rammstein - Deutschland
I'm between boomer and genX and these songs reflect my own view on my country.

Making English texts is not a marketing tactic. German is a difficult language. To write music in German, one must have a great linguistic talent, otherwise it sounds bumpy and strange. English is easier, even for Germans.

    • @all-stargamer3333
      @all-stargamer3333 7 месяцев назад +1
