Sarah Brightman Discusses Her 15th Album, "Hymn"

- The world’s most successful and best-selling soprano Sarah Brightman will unveil her much anticipated fifteenth full-length album, "Hymn," on November 9, 2018. This marks the multi-platinum, Grammy Award-nominated, classical crossover pioneer’s first new studio recording since she released the international chart-topper Dreamchaser in 2013. The spiritually themed "Hymn" is an inspirational collection of orchestrated, choir-based songs that Brightman says felt soothing to record at this moment in her life. The album was recorded over the past two years in Hamburg, Miami, London, Vancouver, Los Angeles, New York and Budapest.

I really enjoyed this. You can tell the interviewer was so joyous to be interviewing Sarah and was a huge fan who not only knew her stuff but also did research. It was a pleasure to watch these two interact. It didn't seem cold or robotic whatsoever. Great job.
I knew of Sarah but after seeing her at the Hard Rock in Hollywood Florida last night , I have been Brightmatized !! What an AWESOME show from start to finish. I have seen many concerts in my life she is not only an awesome live preformer but a first class entertainer deluxe . Really conects with her audiance and it was truly Top 2 concerts I have seen in my life. Thank you Sarah for one of the most AWESOME nights I have had in many years . Her dresses , choreography , attitude on stage , humbleness make her a First class diva . I will see her again .

I was so fortunate to interview Sarah by phone 5 years ago...That is when she was preparing for her space travel, which of course she did not pursue. She was so very friendly and happy to speak with me. I have adored her for years and her latest album Hymn is wondrous.

Just saw her PBS special on Sunday, Nov 24th here in the States and it was wonderful! Can't wait to buy her "Hymn" concert DVD which also includes some of her classics like "Phantom of the Opera", "Figlio Perduto" and "Who wants to live forever".

I have enjoyed Sarah's music for many years. Tonight is the first time I have seen her interviewed. She strikes me as a very cognizant yet humble individual; something you don't see in the entertainment industry very often these days. So, when and where are those North American tour dates?
These are the goddesses of opera. Must've been something wonderful in previous lives; to deserve to be so lucky in this one. The funny thing that she described herself like I do when I speak languages: "a parrot " 😂

One of the best interviews I've ever seen of a celebrity. The interviewer is a long-time fan and has an intimate understanding of Sarah's music and career. She was excited, but asked some very poignant and interesting questions. They weren't the same canned questions that many interviewers seem to ask. I loved when she ask Sarah, "What do you sing around the house? How do you preserve your voice while traveling on tours?" She also got more into the creative process. These are questions we all have, but are never asked. Where does this amazing ability and creativity spring from? I loved how Sarah explained the physical aspects of where she feels the actual tones arising from in her body, and how she works with singing coaches to keep that all fresh and correct. It was almost like the "yoga of singing" if there is such a thing. It sounds like a gift mixed with the work and understanding to maintain it and the creatively and freshness to keep it exciting. Great Work!

The title track, "Hymn" (which is about drug addiction), was composed by John Lees, lead guitarist of English progressive/art rock band, "Barclay James Harvest" in 1967, when he was aged 19. It finally made it to the band's 1977 album, "Gone To Earth", which spent 197 weeks in the German album chart and is 6th on the list of longest-running albums in the German album chart. John Lees' Barclay James Harvest still perform it (as of 2018), usually as an encore at the end of their gigs. I’m really missing something. Emmy Rossum played Christine In phantom of the opera she also played the girl in the wildly underrated movie the day after tomorrow so I don’t know who is this Sarah Brightman lady is and if she played another version of Phantom of the opera I can’t figure out where because it’s not pulling it up on IMDb

6 world tours. Multiple awards and tv specials in over 46 countries. Sang with andrea bocelli twice. 36 million albums sold since 1992. Was in "cats". Had a #1 dance album and many #1 opera albums. 2 movies and Sang at the Olympics twice ☺ number 1 soprano.

She was the original Christine - Andrew Lloyd Webber wrote the part for her when she was his wife.
Are you joking? Andrew Lloyd Webber wrote Phantom with Sarah Brightman in mind. She was the first person to ever play Christine on Broadway. The cast album is her on it. She’s been forever known to have started her career in Phantom.
