I once watched a Chiro on YT who was a trained doctor (medical licence, far more qualified than even a physio). The guy was Australian, and he was incredible. He took x-rays and MRI's to diagnose and then treat people with very specific issues. He had videos of him reseting joints/vertebra of people that literally couldn't walk before years, and then fixed the issues non surgically adjustments. It was honestly incredible. One was him helping people in India with concaved spines, and helping them stand up straight.
That said your typical YT Chiro is some bozo in Texas who does the same generic adjustments to everyone, and then yeets their spines 6 inches north for tiktok clout and a quick payday.
I agree Chiro is a YT fad, but from my experience I do believe there are a small amout out there that can change peoples lives in amazing ways. Also in the UK you need a graduate degree from a select few universities to be a Chiropractor. In the US you just need fold up table and towel.
    Btw you're smokin hot..

I think chiropracty definently helps with some specific pain issues, not just in the lower back, but elsewhere too. It definently isn't a heal-all magic solution to everything, but it has been shown to help people with pain, like massages and physiotherapy.

The first thing I do every morning is crack my back and I will from this day blame it for my failures and thank it for my successes.
    I mess up at work:
"Aww shite, must've cracked it wrong this morning"
    I win the lottery:
"Hell that crack this morning must've been just right"
    🤣

I do think there is something to it though. I myself had horrible sciatic pain once to the point where I could barely move. I did a stretch/twist of my body and it popped and then I immediately felt relief and it never came back. I did that myself by doing a stretch that my body felt naturally inclined to do.
But if I could be healed that way, surely others could be too. And that method could be studies and replicated (which is what some chiropractors qre trying to do). And I know I'm not the only one who has had experiences like that.
I totally agree that the practice needs way more regulation though. So many of them cross/walk the line of pseudoscience. And I'm sure many of them call themselves "doctors" without a doctorate degree. Not to mention all of unprofessional chiropractors who sexualize their patients on RUclips or other social media, it's just gross.
Anyway, I think there is something legitimate there. But it needs a whole lot more studying before people should be snapping eachother's necks and backs like they're currently doing

Anyway, great to see someone that plainly refutes some of the supernatural pseudoscience out there with proper references and all.

A real Chiropractor is someone who readjusts your body to give you the chance to make it right. For example if you have bad posture that has brought you pain in your lower back, it can be extremely hard to make it right when you physically cant keep good posture for a prolonged amount of time. A Chiropractor is meant to be there to temporarily reduce those problems (usually muscle knots/cramped muscles) and then help you with exercises to strengthen those areas, making you able to gain a good posture pain free. Its supposed to be a tool and guidance, not some magical rodeo which instantly makes you superhuman. And its sad to see so many fakes taking advantage of this to gain money elsewhere.

unfortunately my aunt, who's illiterate, is more inclined to distrust well educated people like doctors. i do love her and i have tried to convince her that she shouldn't keep going to chiropractors and alt. medecine healers.. to no avail. in this case the only solution is for these alternatives not to exist in the first place

Well i guess you didn't try, its ok if you read the studies lol. All studies you use as a source said the chiro is working on back pain and biomécanicals pbs... You didn't read the studies and didn't try it, shit, and you talk about critical sens and science?
BTW if you had some medecine knowledge, you would know the vagal nerve trigger the sympathic system when they are back lock, he is responsive for many inflammations regulation, from the cytokine production to mastocytes reactivity, thoses one can trigger depression, anxiety, alergy ect. Back lock can also compress nerves, dependind which on can have different effects, from heartbeat rythme to intestinal motility.
So no, its not magic as some stupid capitalists chiro try to sell it, but when posture is the problem, and only in this case, it can effectively "save lives".
Medicines researchs are fking problematics, they never try to understand, they just put big data, ask result and try to answer by yes or no on only 1 critter. Its way more complexe, in this way, medicine is way closer to a religion. If physics research was done in such a stupid way, we wouldn't even be able to discern gravitation from drag. Medicine is from a dark age, and clearly this exemple is not the worst.
