  • Beating The Grünfeld Indian Defense
    With The Eternal Attack Line
Matthias Bluebaum used an interesting line to beat Velimir Ivic in the 5th round of the European Championship in Slovenia. It lead to advantage and a great game where white got his bishop trapped on h8 and used the H-pawn to free it. Afterward they got a position with a 'bad king' and an eternal attack. So this video is a real Kinderegg - with 3 good things in one!

    That's a really amazing weapon!
As a Grünfeld player, this is exactly the scenario I dread : having no way to pressure my opponent, but instead struggling to draw.

I play the grunfeld all the time. I read how it’s such a strong defense but I lose at least 95% of the time despite my following all the tutorials.

What elo are you at, and how familiar are you with the Grünfeld ? If you care to share. I am by no means an expert on the Grünfeld, but I find surprising how you seem to struggle with the resulting positions. Maybe I can share some advice :)

@@AadikLenin I guess you comment was deleted. I don’t know what your apology is for. But don’t worry I have a thick skin and no ego about my game.
