the combs you picked up were wool carding combs, used in 2's to pull and stretch the wool fibers to get ready for spinning into yarn or thread. The crescent shaped dish you calleda spoon rest was actually what was referred to as a "bone dish". It was considered bad manners to leave bones on the dinner plate, so bone dishes came with each place setting
You did well with the engraving. The frame and acid free matting alone would be more that what you paid. When it comes to art, how it's framed can make a huge difference.
Prices still too crazy!! I agree, if you like it & want it & will enjoy it….. I say,buy it!! Antiques are only worth what someone will pay! Same thing holds true with your choice to buy things from Walmart or big box stores!
I think the picture was a great deal especially since it was for your house. Other stuff seemed pretty high….they have a limited number of customers so they aren’t going to fetch eBay or Etsy prices.
I feel most prices were on the high side. Like your picture, agree frame is really pretty. I buy vintage frames to put my artwork in, if it needs cleaned I use Murphy,s oil soap then go over it with Howard’s Feed & Wax. What do you use? Thanks for making your Videos ❤!
Prices are still high. Maybe the things that were half price were good for direct buy and I guess some of the stuff at 25% off isn't too bad. That little tea light lamp you looked at, I have seen online for half that price.
Lovely antique picture with frame and a decent price, though I wonder why they charged you tax? Non-profits would not charge tax. I thought most of the prices were high, even with the discount. It would been great if you had checked out the quilts!
Their prices are outrageous! $20 for that piece of CorningWare you can pick up in any antique store even a thrift store for less than half that even at 25% off their prices were not very good
With tax? 🤔 So they are charging taxes when none of the $ generated there will be reported to taxes and if theg are it will be written off to the church. What a way to squeeze a few extra bucks out of the people with the already overpriced stuff. 😔🤦🏻
I agree that they shouldn’t be adding a sales tax. I coordinated a thrift for my church for years and we never added tax. We also sold everything very fairly with most clothing priced at $1. Everything was donated to us for free. My philosophy was to sell to the community very cheaply so that everyone could afford to shop. We definitely attracted resellers and we were glad to support the small business person looking to support their family. Overpricing and having the same items over and over is a form of hoarding and is not in the spirit of service to the community. In my opinion.
Wow 😳 if this a church most likely all this stuff was donated left over estate items and donations from members. These prices are ridiculous! They are definitely trying to make 💰which is just a little odd. My goodness our church sales are great! They start on Friday with great prices then Saturday Is fill a bag/box for like 3-5.00 dollars. Unless the church is running some sort of side business, prices are still too overpriced.
Not reseller prices lol you should know that by now lol. They are trying to make money too. Oh boy it’s not easy nowadays a lot of hoarders out there scooping everything up and collecting for resale/profit. Expensive nowadays expenses to have a shop and for storage and for antique stores rent
Thank you for your feedback and for enjoying the videos! I'm currently learning audio and doing my best to improve the sound quality. I'll definitely be making some improvements on the next videos. Thanks for your patience and support! 😀
Remember your time I’d worth money too. I know you are making utube videos and making a little money anyways, plus I am watching your videos and my time is important too
I have been going to their sales for years. There are no bargains until the last day. There are a few sprinkled here and there. They are selling it for retail. They do clean outs. There are 4 to 5 separate companies that come together to do this. I have found some gems there. My family have been in VB since 1619.

Thank you so much for sharing that insight! 💛
The red transfer ware curved plate is a bone dish set at the table next to or above a dinner plate to discard bones while eating
Thank you for sharing! It was so pretty!
I thought most of it was priced high. I love a good sale but some of the prices were crazy. Be safe and have a blessed day. 👍
Thank you! You too!
I agree with what your saying, If you love it buy it ! The picture is so my style too and I definitely would’ve picked it up! 😊
Yes! Once you find a perfect picture you can't pass it up! 💛
My favorite new channel!

I’ll say the picture is awesome…
Thank you, I got lucky!

Yes I agree, really pleased with the picture though!
The spoon rest was a bone plate.
The pink and white crescent shaped dish was not a spoon rest but a bone dish.
Thank you so much for that insight Rosalyn! 😀

I completely agree Sonja, thank you for watching! 🙂
wow, i agree, buy if you need or love buy it but i thought the start out prices seem a bit high for my area in Michigan. ❤👍🏽
Yes, definitely passed up on quite a bit!

I'll be sure to look at the quilts next time!
Their prices were retail, really high. Even at half off, still high. My opinion...
I agree Jen! Thank you for watching. 💛
Kinda high priced but it’s for a church so that’s a win win.
Very true Janeen!

Agreed!

The church just rents the space. They are a clean out company and several estate companies together. They have to charge tax.
Yes. Fair prices.

Oh my! Sounds like you have the best sales where you are!

I felt it was over priced
Agreed Debra, thank you for watching! 🙂
I enjoy your videos. BUUTT, please work on the volume. Can barely hear you with my volume all the way up except in your car.

Way to much money on stuff that's not even antiques. 85 dollars for that bowl😮
I was quite surprised to see some things priced so high! Thank you for watching 🙂
They were so very overpriced. No deals there!
I was hoping for much better prices Joanne, thank you for watching!
Set up like a store! Prices too high!
Agreed!
A lot of anxiety so much stuff oh boy not much room for profits
Remember your time I’d worth money too. I know you are making utube videos and making a little money anyways, plus I am watching your videos and my time is important too
I can barely hear you in my left ear.
Too high
No bargain!👎 The sale should be at least 50percent off; rip off sale👎
I agree, wish I could have seen better prices Ellen. Thank you for watching! 💛
