    I can't get over how expensive the FWP pen ended up being for you. Everyone is entitled to their opinions and thankfully there is such a variety of pens available. That's why all these videos are so interesting to watch. Have fun with the pens you do have and enjoy!

    To be honest, you really don't have to apologize when giving your own opinions about fountain pens. As a newbie fountain pen user, I understand that some people may not agree with your personal ideas. What matters is you have tried using certain fountain pens at various price points and you have discovered which ones are great and which ones are not so great. But don't worry, there are other fountain pens that are worth trying. You can try Pilot, Eboya, or fountain pens from India, China or other countries. And please keep making videos like this one. More power to you and your channel!😊😍☺️🇵🇭🖋️

    For me, the writing experience is most important. I have bought quite a few pens that look absolutely beautiful but they write terribly. I’m sure we’ve all experienced this.

      @@corysoxydiaries I have had bad luck with Pelikan nibs and S.T. DuPont. They were especially disappointing because they were pens I paid over $500 for. On the other side, I have never used a Diplomat pen that didn’t write beautifully. I also find Japanese brands to be the most consistent.

    Great video. Not sure why you kept apologizing for your opinions but I understand internet ppl can be bullies. My pen I probably won’t buy again is the Kaweco sport. Although the new royal purple has me reconsidering. I agree aging has sparked up my carpal tunnel and it’s so small. It was the first pen I bought myself so I’m holding onto it for sentimental reasons.

    This is a good topic. Others will have different experiences, but that's fine. One of the reasons I won't buy again is horrible customer service from a maker. I have one such person on my list but I won't mention them again, since I have done so many times. He knows who he is, and he has disappointed several people. I have also stopped buying Lamy Safaris because the grip doesn't work for me at all. And I may be done buying Sailor pens because their prices have gotten too high. I love my pens in two brands you mentioned -- yStudio and Opus 88. However, I wouldn't buy an Opus 88 Mini. Their full sized pens are fantastic on my opinion, and among the best pens to travel with.

    We pay 20$ for those little FWP pens in Canada. They are good starter pens, but I would not pay more than 30$ for those. I'm not a fan of Lamy as well. We are all allowed our own opinions. I haven't tried the other brands you mentioned, so I can't comment. Great video!

    2 of my favorite modern pens are Narwhal but I have a vacuum filler and piston filler. I won’t do Lamy only because it forces me to hold it a certain way that I find uncomfortable. One thing I love about this hobby is there’s something for everyone at all different prices. There’s even vintage options. Always great to see another video from you.

      I think you need to clarify that you are referring to the weird triangular grip of the Lamy Safari. They have other pens that have cylindrical grips-like the Lamy Studio and the Lamy 2000.

    My first pen was a Monteverde Ritma. I have purchase about 20 pens since then, and now that I have some experience with other pens, I find the Ritma to be too heavy. Early on in my pen life, I also bought a Monteverde Invincia Vega, which is too heavy. The second pen I got was a Narwhal,and a big chunk of the cap cracked off the first night I had it. The pen store I got it from took it back with no questions. The resin is cheap. I won’t buy it again. It made me hesitate to get any resin pens at all. Now I save my money and get good quality pens, preferably with a gold or rhodium tipped nibs. OR, super-cheap pens that I can stick a shimmer ink in and not worry about it if I wreck them while cleaning.

      interesting..i don’t have a Monterverde pen yet. Heard a lot of not so good reviews so Im still debating to buy or not😅 thanks for watching!

    Two things i realised, one is that i like faber castell nibs. Two, is that i like pilot pens for drawing but not for writing. Each one with their own preferences i guess. 😄🖖

    I think for me the big no buy is Lamy - they have been a bad experience, I can't make them work with anything. I know people love them but I am just done.
    The other one is Kaweco - again I know people love them but just never had any Kaweco nib that worked for me.
    I really have enough from other brands that I probably don't need anymore anyway. I say "probably" because we all know that there is always another fountain pen! 😂

    I stopped buying Conklin and Monteverde pens a few years ago already. I never liked TWSBI, but still bought two, and then gave them away. Not buying modern Sheaffer pens again. For me, FWP pens and inks are both not worth buying anymore.

  • @r.w.sinclair8363
    @r.w.sinclair8363 5 месяцев назад

    For me TWISBI is my brand I'm done with. I've owned 5 of them and 4 have broken, either the section or the feed itself. Even being careful never to over-tighten, I decided to ink up my Vac 700 the other day and the feed had just snapped in two right inside the section, even thought it was in a case the whole time! The Micarta is the only survivor of my TWISBI purchases. It's a shame because I enjoyed the styling, writing and affordability of them all. (And yes, TWSBI was great about sending replacement parts at no charge but those also eventually failed too and I am a hobbyist, not a pen repairman.)

  • @siyanaba
    @siyanaba 5 месяцев назад +1

    I think writing with brass and aluminum for extended period will make your hand smell, that’s why i only have plastic Kawecos. But the aluminum is okay just for pocket short notes. The brass will still be heavy on the pocket for 30 grams like having too many coins in your pocket. Salamat.

    I'm pretty new, so I don't even have a Lamy or TWSBI, they are in the mail though. 😂 My only bad experience so far is with the Waterman Allure and Monteverde Ritma - they seem to have slight issues feeding

    Like you, I don't think I shall ever buy again a Lamy Safari. In fact, the only Safari I have is the Petrol, which I might end up selling or gifting away. But I do like the luxury looking Lamy Logo line which I plan to keep in my collection. Thanks for your honest opinion of pens you don't intend to buy more of.

    Luckily for my wallet, I tried one Sailor and it’s not for me. And while I like my Pilot 74 ok, but their converters drive me nuts so probably no more Pilot either. Plenty of other pens to choose from, we all have different tastes. 🥰

  • @PlanYourOneLife
    @PlanYourOneLife 5 месяцев назад +1

    I've been having problems with my FWP FP since I got it. I have the grape colored one.
    The converter keeps coming off on its own. The nib has always been "off," and it skips as if I'm writing with a ballpoint pen.
    I recently gave it another try with their Poison Envy ink, but I still had the same problems with it.
    I cleaned it and it's been sitting in my drawer ever since.
    I'm not usually a fan of yellow pens, but your Narwhal FP is pretty.
    Lol at having enough Lamy FPs.😅
    By the way, how do you like the paper in your GL notebook?

    Sometimes it’s hard to resist a Lamy in a new color, however I agree, why do I need another. I have at least 2 TWISBIs and may not buy another, however it is not because of quality. I too have a Narwal and am not particularly impressed. Thanks for your video.
