Sayyid Ahmad Kabir Rifai is the founder of the Rifaeeya silsila, a tareeqah of Islam. He is also one of the four major tariqah sheikhs, or Aktab-i erbaa, which are the four highest spiritual masters after the holy Prophets.
Rifai was a Sunni Muslim preacher, ascetic, mystic, jurist, and theologian. He is known for not being inclined towards worldly things, owning no more than two garments at a time, and distributing his wealth to dervishes and others who came to his lodge. It is believed that he restored eyesight to the blind, health to the sick, and resurrected the dead.
Rifai's tomb and shrine is located at a mosque in Al-Rifai, a town in southern Iraq near Baghdad
