Just finished a class with Ezra Sensei at the Wits Dojo in Johannesburg South Africa. The man is a very good aikidoka, martial artist and teacher. Respect.
Sensei Ezra Shian. If you took the time out to visit Komyokan Dojo. You would witness Sensei Ezra providing his individual attention to students regulary. Komyokan Dojo is one of great efficiency,The youths seperated from the adults to ensure the more progressed can keep progressing and not slow down,Equally it allows him to provide individual attention by keeping the class sizes down,Seperating the youths and adults...To do this Komyokan Djo has become his life,
Sensei Ezra. Opens the Dojo early daytime and shuts the doors late into the night. Commitment is the esce here ,And Sensei Ezra could not e committed. Taking into great considration.Sensei Ezra has been committed to his chosen path now for over FortyFive Years,And opened the doors to The Komyokan Dojo in 1990. Sensei Ezra takes pride in his students...He likes his students,And is evident. And can be seen in the respect mirroed back to him by his students.
The idea of the Sensei applying a degree of pressure to the technique upon the student is to allow the student to feel the the technique being applied correctly and the pain it can inflict. There is absolutely nothing to learn her by applying excessive force to the technique where pain and discomfort,or even damage can be caused. Lets use more logic....Would you go back to a Dojo where the Sensei used excessive brute force with a speeding punch landing it right on your nose,Breaking the nose.
