Great for share / toms, good background noise rejection, good EQ for that application and work well when supplemented by overheads. Spoken word? Not the best...
Hello Brother🙏🏻 Great video as usual, I think the Mojave is pretty MAD at 3 inches, quite bright for my taste but ots got some nice proximity, the Sennheiser is a classic and I love how it sounds, but with none of the HP filters engaged, the 421 sounds thin as the levels of HP filters are increased even in the proximity effect, I think the MD-421 is the better microphone out of the two, but the Mojave is pretty decent too especially for people who like bright sounds. The Mojave’s weight is nicer but maybe for some heavy voices it can give headaches. I think I prefer the Sennheiser in he end. I do have a request tho, your last MD-421 ii video was 4 years ago, O think this needs to be re-reviewed and retested in the newer settings with newer mics for comparison, its a good one, I think that video will benefit a lot of people looking to get this mic! I hope you are doing good, take care, god bless🙏🏻
I have used the MD421 on toms and they worked well because of the upper mid range focus which shows off the attack of the drums. The drums had to be mic'd closely to minimize the cymbal leakage which sounded very filtered. I tried them on group vocals but the off-axis coloration made them unusable for that purpose.
MD421-II sounds surprising good, balanced and can utilize low end while on-mic with hpf I suppose. I'd assume they both excels at narrations(VO) than m201tg with a mic foam?
I like the Sennheiser with the high pass filter. That sounds like the perfect dynamic mic sound to me.
A Love to hear you compare TLM 103 to Mojave MA-50
I never fail to be underwhelmed by the MD 421-II.
Ditto. How it's so expensive and so crappy sounding is beyond me.

I love it more than the SM7b or RE-20. It has such a nice tone!

I came for the quick toxic heated air vent review. It was very refreshing.
Mindblowing comparison of my choice.
I have a feeling you've done this before? But if not you should totally compare the OC818 and the Neumann TLM 103
Bro, what have you been doing? You lost weight! Looking good bro.

That Mojave is BRIGHT
I like your voice better on the Sennheiser. Mojave is too bright. The Sennheiser looks cooler too 🙂
Mojave slays sennheiser...Much better to my ears.
No DM appear to sound better than MA- D.
