great to hear from you Maha after a long time, all your programs are amazingly brilliant and very exactly/precisely explained to us from region to region wise. Thank You
I love the arabic language but I cannot learn the language from you Maha. Your beauty distracts me eerytime from what I have to learn from you. Thank you very much for the lesson.

Hello, I watched a different video of yours and you talked about raw kibbeh. My grandfather is from outside of Beirut. My grandma is from Poland. She made her version of Lebanese food. She made raw kibbeh. She had the butcher grind the meat three times, she used ground beef and lamb. She used bulghur and salt and put slices of onion with it. Then we drizzled it with olive oil. Loved it!
Respect, but even though i share this pronunciation of hummus, not all dialects of Arabic are the same. My family from Bagdhad say things different than family from Marrakech, because they're in different regions. The Arab speaking world is large, which human beings always forget the world is bigger than them 😂. Human nature, i suppose, but i do get your point on people who do not know, acting like they do know something. Just offering wider lense for you.

@@LearnArabicwithMaha I could pronounce it correctly.....as i was brought up in U.A.E. But now i am even more sure of pronunciation after watching your lesson. Thanks Maha ❤
Because English spelling is very inconsistent. Majority of languages around the world knew that it is 'oo' like 'u' in Latin. Should've been spelled 'Hoommoos for them. Just like how English speakers said muzzlm.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! I've been mispronouncing this WORD for so long🤣🤣🤣🤣I was saying "HUE-MOUS!!!" I was wondering "HELL's KITCHEN," and one of the COMPETITORS pronounced it CORRECTLY🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
i really love to listen the way you pronounce arabic language its been 6 years working in saudi but i can't speak arabic very well and i dont understand even to read and write in arabic words😂😂😂
The real pure formal pronunciation is حِمَّص (HimmaS)!!! But yeah, only few people use this pronunciation, we say حُمُّص (Hummus) just like the way Maha teaches you here.
No matter how hard I try, no matter how carefully I listen: In 99% of the cases I don't hear the slightest difference between the Sin ﺱ and the Sad ﺹ . I really wonder if native arabic speakers can really "hear" the difference without knowing the spelling of the word...
It is like a regular "s" but a bit "whistling". To pronounce it, put the tongue just above the front teeth and say "s". But pay attention you produce a whistling s and not "th" (as in English word "thin") 🙂
@@levimusitz9186 Thanks Levi, I mean ..not pronouncing is the hard part for me, but hearing it. For me it sounds just the same somehow :-/ (maybe when i hear the word in superslowmotion :-)

Hi! I love your videos but wanted to make one small comment on this. Just because that is how you pronounce it in the middle east doesn't mean westerners say it that way....English has incredibly different pronunciations of words and you can't expect people in an English-speaking country to say it with an Arab accent haha.
I used to pronounce U in English as ü 😂 so when I saw this word I read it like: Hü-mmoos 😂 I try my best English with my Spanish for an Arabic word, sorry! Now I know, hopefully I won’t forget.

Are you talking about students of Arabic, while speaking Arabic, say it badly? Or are you talking about anyone who says the word, says it wrong? I'm not really sure from watching the video. I found it odd that you would give people such a hard time over it. Try not to beat people up too much, as it's worth keeping in mind that hommus is also an English word, borrowed from Arabic. So when people, who aren't native Arabic speakers, say the word hommus, they are saying the English word hommus, and not the Arabic word. It may hurt less if you realize that when people mispronounce it, they are saying the English word, and not speaking Arabic at all.
Your teaching style is fantastic as your openness gesture, smile, energetic approaches and all together we love it. I am seriously trying to learn Arabic as I love this language and people. Thank you

Maha, could you explain difference in pronunciation of ح and ه
The *ح* is like the sound you make when you wanna warm up your hands with your breath .
The letter ه is same like English *h*
this ح is like you are whispering to someone. No vibration on ur throat.
this ه you can feel the vibrations on ur throat.
