Hi Peter, Many thanks for your comment, fingers crossed we get a good Summer nectar flow and with a little luck I'm ready to take advantage of it! Stewart
Hi George, Yes we used split boards last year and they do work really well. I did find, that with the Langsdtroth ten fdrame boxes it was quite a weeight to lift of on my own. The system we use now works really well for colonies we want to introduce queens into rather than produce queens from that specific colony. Stewart
Happy your bee's are thriving Stewart and you are happy too! Our apiary has really grown and I'm grateful for your instruction a few years back.
Great explanation 👍 Let’s hope the new queen is accepted and the colony builds up quickly 🤞 Thanks Stewart 👏👏🇬🇧
Thanks Glynis, Fingers crossed indeed!

Very useful. Do you use Snelgrove boards when making splits? I experimented with them last year and found them quite useful.

@@TheNorfolkHoneyCo yes! The lifting. Or avoidance. I recall you have or had back issues?
Hope you are doing well there.
How is you honey harvest this year? I am also in Norfolk. A very rainy season!
It's OK for the Millionaires with new plastic hives
Indeed some of us have motley collection of old wooden boxes!
These are all secondhand boxes, you should see some of the poly hive kit I've got, it's mostly filler now!
Not for the marine world though. Absolutely devastating
I was going to ask where you got those technoset hives... I could not find a UK supplier@@TheNorfolkHoneyCo
