    The interview is honest. Thanks! And the series is damn funny! Ratna ji carries the whole show with herself like a breeze and there is a host of talents, old and new, who give the due sangat. Reminds me of Sarabhai series, as if Maya, a little more Gujrati in her younger self, has aged and become Hemlata! Thanks @Primevideos to being so much laughter in these days of violent and abusive stories.

    Ratna Pathak Shah's expression is classic when Ayesha kindly says those 90s male actors still deserve to be around! She is right... Look at that lot... They have weathered and withered, yet, they stay on... Doing lead roles. Think of Salman Khan! Such a waste! The worst films ever, with no role to brag about... Bad acting at its worst... Yet, it's all about the facade of stardom.

Genuine ppl wud love her for what she is..I can sense the hurt in her for not getting befitting opportunities. Reasons could be not fitting into the mold, overshadowed by her celebrity hubby whoz a numeruno in parallel cinema and she being too genuine..an indigestable bit of substance to givers and controllers of work opportunities in acting..Unfortunately!

    Ratna Pathak Shah is so full of herself. It is a travesty that she is not allowing Ayesha to complete her sentences and keeps belittling her by saying that thankfully she didn't have to do the 'bachaooo' kind of roles. That was the flavour of the era and Ayesha did what she was asked to

      Totally! She does know a lot (thanks to her exposure to various platforms), however, she should have carried respect towards the fellow actor. Moreover, the subtle belittling could have been avoided, since each person has their opinion. Thankfully, Ayesha seemed quite poised and collected, yet put her opinions across hither and thither.

    I didn’t like this interview. I think it was an interview where Ratna mam sounds very frustrated and keeps cutting the other speaker off. I believe the frustration is with overall trend of this era. I think some key feedback could have been given and I think she could have been a bit more thoughtful before sharing. I understand her frustration but just reacting to something without suggesting solutions isn’t going to work.

    Highly intelligent people both women. That's why they are so animated. Ratna ji seems critical to some people because she has experienced a lot in such a long journey. She knows the good and bad of the whole process. And it's true that a lot of films are flopping. She is trying to teach the right thing to the younger generation. Not to be self absorbed and focus on skill.

    @archanakumaridasgupta5536 Год назад +5

    Ratna Pathak Shah has been a delight to hear and be seen in interviews as this, but Ayesha Jhulka, I believe it's important for these actresses to be speaking specifically because women and even men, and their idea of women in society or in general has been soooo deeply impacted by what was portrayed on screen back then, so naturally when they come up and speak, it just simply shows that the women who played such narratives, probably written by men into stereotypical boxes of should and shouldn't, are actually people who aren't like that. What they are is that they have their own minds and opinions and thoughts, and if cinema impacts people to whatever extent it does, the one thing that is expected of men or women is not to be like what u saw bk then for men- main tumhare izzat ki rakha karunga wagerah, and women- of an abla nari, tragic queens... But just being your own person. Perhaps then the voice wasn't as clear, but now it is. Noone's saying men shouldn't be protective, all that's being said is not to look at women like they can't defend themselves. And for women, femininity is a much wider aspect and it has and also doesn't have at times to necessarily do with the way you think or cerebral capacity, i mean that shouldn't be gendered. Now you know, that even Ayesha Jhulka, even back then, was not the Ayesha Jhulka that women saw onscreen or showcased women in a certain way only, and not anything apart that.

    Ratna Pathak Shah is probably one of the best actresses in the country with the kind of versatility she has displayed in the past years. But dissing the past actresses is so not done. Isn't her view very myopic when she thinks the heroine is only focused on looks and dancing? There was Nargis in Mother India, Nutan in Bandini, Shabana in Ankur, Sridevi in Sadma, Madhuri in Mriyudand, Urmila in so many of her films which was much beyond looks and dancing? This is so not done, yes it is a welcome change with all the experimentation and acceptance but no, our heroines in the past DID NOT just cry and dance.

      I believe she did have a successful career but unlike other actresses she decided to put a stop to it when things got monotonous for her as an actress in her career like she mentioned in this interview. Though I do agree that the industry could have offered her roles which could have done more justice to her as an actress for her craft! I guess times were different and competition was also fierce….but nevertheless happy to have her back with a bang😊✌️🇬🇧
