Also what is strange is that disney animators were skeptical about the working on lion king while they were excited and prepared for the adaptation of pocahontas, but everything went 180. The Lion king because Disney's Surprise blockbuster and greatest achievement ranking at the top with snow white cindrella and little mermaid, breaking box offcie records worldwide for a traditionally animated feature film and became a overnight and worldwide sensation with a lasting legacy, while pochaontas failed to meet all expectations as the box office only made half of the lion king and critics hated it as an inaccurate, poorly executed and boring film with an unfortunate excuse to rewrite history without realizing the reality. I have watched the lion king and it is far superior than pocohontas. I beleive the music, plot, theme and charming characters has what made lion king a modern classic. It is insane that it sold 50 million vhses in the 1990s.
