Being a hybrid build that can wield a giant crusher while also being able to cast rennala's moon and the dragon communion spells on ng7 is one of the best feelings ever. Game becomes a lot more fun ngl
This is simply why I always run str/faith builds, you just naturally work in amazing ranged options while still being able to bonk something into oblivion if you don't wanna spend FP
@@dutchvvcap , have a 150 for pvp and 300 on ng+7 its fun to be able to have multiple options like for instance im on a dex , faith , arcane build its really fun
Hell yeah! As someone in ng+5, it's nice to finally get some insights for what's best at maximizing the number-go-up! With 60 Str/Dex/Arc, bleed infusion basically turns into quality, usually trading ~10% AR for 110+ bleed. Str and Dex contribute pretty decent damage up until 80, thought Arc drops off on AR and bleed past 60.
I'm at close to 80 at str and dex and 80 arcane and found that Bandits almost outclasses Scavengers. Bandits gives me ~650 AR and 115 Bleed while Scavengers gives ~610 AR with 87. However, Scavengers still has Bandits beat in terms of its occult scaling. Though I think Bandits is still better overall.
I think the problem with the gravity thrust build isn't rune arcs, it's that great runes dont carry into ng+ and you need to B-line straight to malenia every cycle to maximize build efficiency
Since launch I have only ever created new builds. Just decided to start a ng+and lemme say that it is a freakin blast. Going back through and being able to use whatever weapon and spell fits the occasion feels so freeing. I am lvl 220 currently so its still got room to improve
Sacred Bloody Flesh is a two-component buff. If you cast FGMS after Sacred Bloody Flesh, you get the body buff from FGMS and the unique portion of the Flesh, which is the buff on bleed part. You miss out on 10 Arcane and 7% physical damage, but FGMS obviously outclasses that.
Never understood why Rune Arcs aren't more abundant, upgrading your weapons cost runes, you can't buy certain great arrows and my biggest issue is....... Twin Maidens are NOT right next to the Blacksmith 😢😢
I used to run a faith/ quality build with black flame, the Bloodhounds Fang and heavy armor but since the bosses in the dlc have a special resistance to the DoT of black flame/ destined death it has become a lot weaker. Conversely holy damage is solid in the dlc so int/ faith with the golden order seal and rings of light incantations are strong even in ng+7. Whether you can poise break is highly dependant on the boss since trading attacks is a lot less favourable in ng+ but when it works an uchigatana with unsheathe is as effective as ever. Boiled Crab is useful in almost every area and knowing the map makes preparing elemental resistance incantations really easy, especially because having like 30 faith is a small investment for ng+ while consistently offering niche but super powerful buffs (like 60% holy resistance for Elden Beast/ King Consort Radahn). If you want to light roll, boiled crab + dragoncrest greatshield talisman + opaline hardtear give you decent physical resistances without armor since damage negation stacks multiplicatively (0.8*0.8*0.85=0.54 -> 46% damage negation). This is good enough to not get 1-shot by most things even in ng+7 though I still usually use the ritual shield talisman and heavier armor on top if the drip allows it. Also you'll probably want to keep a light weapon with assassin's gambit for areas like Ordina or the Haligtree if you already got all the items there and just want to go to the boss/ progress to the next area without having to deal with regular enemies that kill you in 2 hits. ng+1 through ng+4 is still relatively chill, but after that trading hits with bosses is really bad because 1: they have more health and hit a lot harder 2: they have significantly increased poise 3: they have higher thresholds for status buildup like frost and bleed which would normally stagger them very easily, so for the most part you can't fight enemies like it's Dark Souls 1 anymore unless you use shit like the Ironjar Aromatic. Big spells and skills are a lot more risky and get you killed most of the time when using them carelessly, so you gotta actually learn the moveset of tough bosses on the highest ng+ cycles if you somehow haven't already. Most spirit ashes become very weak but tanky ones can still help out a ton when fighting gank bosses like Godskin Duo.
I made a fresh ng+7 occult playthrough recently, collecting every weapon that do well on pure arcane and it was the most fun adventure I had maybe ever. I don't tend to redo specific runs but man that was fun. Almost every weapon type has at least 1 weapon with some bleed build up or something so you never feel like you're missing out.
I’m glad you made this video. The level 150 meta is for PVP. For actual NG+ or SOE+ it’s suboptimal. Level 150 NG+ and especially SOE+ is a skill shot. Great builds!
@@pachong1933 Why is it more boring than any other weapon that you use mostly for their AoW? Also the moveset of the sword is very good , with good range & damage. And having to spec in Faith give you access to plenty of fun incantations. I don't understand why this weapon would be considered boring.
@@fafapapa1271 Because the AOW is so overpowered that 80% of the time youre just gonna be spamming it and melting bosses which is the part that gets boring really quick its not just about the aow for example i consider one of the most boring builds is dual cs bleed since it just destroys everything no matter what ng youre on as long its optimised. This is all mostly subjective but I would say for most people they'd have more fun in the long term with a basic samurai build with uchi, nagakiba or even moonveil rather than a build like blasphemous blade with an op aow
OMG, i'm playing NG+6 same way and builds as what worked for me in my first playthrogh... i have found out the hard way what worked in earlier runs does NOT work as good in later NG+ runs... wow... latter main game bosses and dlc bosses are far more difficult in NG+6.. and yes, i am at level 596, ALL legit and proud of it.. NO "cheat engine" for me... i love exploring this game... youwy and Rusty have been great help to me in my runs.. keep up the great work, youwy....
Would love a ranking of more themed builds (eg. crucible knight, cleanrot knight, madness Vike build, Erdtree fundamentalist, dragon communion, etc.). I prefer that to optimizing damage with buffs and everything, and it looks cooler also
The first and last builds can be done on the same toon basically. Just swap spells and take off armour and use the priestess heart. The amount of damage you lose is negligible but gain ability to use intelligence based spells and skills. So, the last build is easily the best simply for it's utility.
An intelligence/faith build at high levels is definitely the best build in the game. Highest spell damage in the game, access to all spells, all damage types, scarlet rot, and amazing weapon options like sonaf, anvil hammer and smithscript shield.
I have a character that i do coop with at level 140 that basically uses the last build, and it's awesome. Since it's just for helping defeat bosses that will have their attention split i don't have anything for survival, just pure damage. Instead of the dragoncrestshield talisman i use the ligthning scropion charm for the added 12% damage and on the flask i have the ligthning tear and Bloodsucking Cracked Tear that add 20% bonus damage each, the regen helps with the health drain of the bloodsucking tear. I also have the flowerstone gavel for the ability that when fully charged debuffs enemies ligthning resistance by 30%. Man, this build absolutely destroys bosses healthbars, i feel like Gwyn using knight's lighting spear, and the ancient dragon's lightning strike just obliterates bigger bosses like Elden Beast and Astel. When the boss is standing on puddle each really feels like cheating. It's really fun!
Dunno if this sounds ridiculous, but if you did a video series on explanations of the ng+ difficulty spikes or on different playstyles that become more and less powerful relative to each other in different ng+ levels, I would watch the hell out of that.
im on ng+7 with high stats and i test stuff a lot and malekiths black blade weapon and incantation do wayyyyy less damage than weapons and spells with actual good scaling, and are much less effective than bleed and cold builds. i think they just have low damage but make up for it with the percentage based health drain, so they are good for earlier ng+ but at ng+7 basically all the damage they do is from the health drain and its just not that much for how long the animations are
I guess i woud prever the flower Hammer for the lightning build. Just use the aow once and get a good buff for your lightning spells against this target
I mainly use my high level character to help in co-op. And zamn the enemies are TANKY. Any black flame/ blade of death, poison, bleed, etc became extremely useful.
Same here i have trying other stuff but always end up switching back after a few min. The only other thing i use is the great katana for when i fight malenia
I never knew until 10:00 that you have to use the rune arcs to benefit from the great runes…I thought they were always on I never bothered using rune arcs. No wonder…smh
Unfortunately pairing spinning gravity thurst with Malenias Rune can fall off a bit by ng7, at least when fighting RadahnMiquella, in phase 2 he just does too much damage relative what you can get back, even with high damage negation and the godskin swaddling cloth equipped as well.
Hello! Im starting my first NG+ but im not sure if i should level up or not, i fear it would ruin my pvp if i do but im also insecure about not being strong enough to fightn the NG+ monsters

Day 1 of Asking Youwy to make ranking videos for all the Soulsborne games weapon types
Pretty sure he did this awhile ago as a short
#1 rapiers/thrusting swords in ds2
#2 straight swords in ds3
#3 halberds ds1
The answer is blasphemous blade build, always is.
