I started my career with 22k in hand now after 6yrs my in hand is 90k and US visa is in process from the company. Just after my college I joined and for not even a single day I was unemployed. But still a government clerk gets more respect than me. The money he will earn in his lifetime will be my 10yrs salary. but still kids will run after the government job. Also with the new trend of UPSC people are going crazy. People should always have a backup plan before going to government job preparation.
Which company & work?
Some of the posts in Govt job has very good Bribe....that's y people are running behind Govt jobs

@@travelingcrazyvlogs how many goverment officials get 90k in hand salary my dear ? if we talk about state goverments then very few higher ranking officials and engineers may be, he has only 6 yrs of experience, we can assume that he will do his job for another 20 years atleast, then calculate the growth at that time.. In IT sectors salary increments are more than 100% sometimes if the person is skilled enough and change companies time to time
I saw the darker sides of government jobs too, but people still thinks that it'll change their lives forever...one day, we just come to know that our lives didn't bear a meaning

Superficially you're right. Build your skill set and all. It takes time to build and create that level of skill which creates value and be valued in the market. The charade about the skill is all about promoting some brand like Skillshare/Udemy and these platforms provide superficial content just to impress someone who is naive to that technology/skill. Building skill looks like a great concept but right now it is nothing more than a click bait and exploiting the insecurities of the unemploymed/vulnerable young people.

And if you can work hard and don't care about a stable income then go for private sectors.

Our education system should b modified . This is high time. We r living in 21st century, technology is growing faster, where as our education system is 100years old.that’s the reason why after being highly educated it is difficult for d students to become fit even 13:24 for small very low package job.another major factor is population growth.there is very little vacancy both in govt. and private sectors in comparison to the No. job aspirants every year comes out for jobs. Govt should take immediate steps in this direction.

But believe me i am getting no satisfaction here and getting grade pay equal to govt primary teacher
From my experience The only govt job whch you can get easily is primary teacher with starting salary from 45000 - 50000 with annual increment of 10% every year ....40- 50 days summer vacations....80 % less load than administration jobs...no political pressure ...most important home district posting in most states...
And also large no of vacancies as compared to other jobs so more chances of selection...
After 2 years salary will cross 60000 as d.a will cross 50% ....
The only thing you should have is B.ed and graduation degree...thats all..

One of the biggest reason for this problem is, although students graduate but a major chunk of them graduate with a bachelor's in arts. Which lets be real have no real world value. They are only as qualified as assembly line worker in some factory, but because they are graduate they won't do that and will try to get a job in government. This is the same case with me currently doing ba English cause a liked it, will try for Government job or otherwise theres literally no alternative for me. Other than going for entrepreneurship, but let's be honest if I had brains for that i would've been doing some professional courses right now. The only reason i took this is because I got reservation in 12 states and on Central level too, so an attempt or 2 is all it gonna take for me. But sadly this is not the case for everybody

Controversial opinion - Here we go:
I've been teaching since 2009 in India AND the problem IS NOT 'under-employment' BUT people not realizing that soft skills matter in this day and age. Lacs and lacs of people each year getting their bachelor degrees BUT can they really do anything that the third decade of the 21st century requires?!? Tragically, the answer is a NOPE!!!! Worse is the whole 'MBA' scenario and the Masters gimmick (I don't even want to do the PhD lot since that's a whole different story)... General awareness isn't just there. There is life beyond government jobs and I keep getting flummoxed with the fact that even with 5G now being introduced and the 'youth' being in position to access it are still so clueless. It's just blatant ignorance on the part of the majority of the young ones to not utilize the resources available and try for anything that would get them to survive and eventually thrive. Let us NOT blame the government totally for everything (And this is in no way supporting the current one because it is HORRIBLE... I imply in general)... Cheers!
👍👍Sir
It is reality.
Can you pls tell me about the whole 'MBA' scenario in detail.
Mere parents and family chahte hai ki Mai government jobs ki taiyari Karu aur jaldi se jaldi Govt Job lu 2-3 years kam se kam prepration Karu. Agar government job nahi hui to phir mujhe koi private job karni chahiye esa yha ke logo ka mindset ban chuka hai aur kahi na kahi Mai bhi isse pravavit hu. Jab bhi mai apne gaon me un logo ko dekhta hu jinki govt job hai to lagta hai sach me Govt Job lene ke baad jindagi hi badal jati hai. Esa nahi hai ki maine government jobs ki preparation ke alawa kuch aur nahi kiya maine Graphic Design sikhi online aur mujhe kam bhi Milne lga tha lekin is bar central government ne bola hai ki wo 10 lakh Government jobs degi to Ghar se pressure tha ki Ane wali vacancies ki taiyari Karo agar nahi hua to phir Graphic Design me kuch karna to abhi mai phir se Govt Jobs ki taiyari kar raha hu.
Mere hisab se iske kuch solution ye ho sakate hai -
• Parents ko bhi abhi ke jo adhunik career options hai unki jankari Leni chahiye.
• industries ka vikash ho Bihar me.

Now I am not the most motivated person and have self esteem issues maybe. I was a good student but since 12th have been average at best. I always thought of doing some creative job where my skills would matter. Clearing some exam, how will it provide the skills necessary for the job. I think it's irrelevant, the job and the exam. So why waste all that time studying just to become useless while you can work on you employability skills and progress in the mean time.

Very long but necessary post. Best to go for a private job if you are well educated and eligible for something more than a clerk. For someone who wants to be clerk or lower post for whole life, government job is best. Because private will never pay the salary that government pays them and most of the times they are protected by unions in government jobs. But for rest, it is private.
Reasons
1. Opportunity - government jobs have far more demand than supply. such adverse ratio means that very less people will actually get it. Just for example 10 out of 100. What about rest 90. They will have crucial years wasted in preparation and will have to take a private job as fresher at age of 28 or 30.that is worst.
2. Work life balance- work life balance in some government jobs is proving to be a myth.even more so for IAS. Mainly because government does not have more money to recruit more people. So for the work of 10 people, 8 might be recruited. That increases work load on existing employees. Banks and police are best examples.
3. Options- politics, nepotism, favouritism are present in both government and private. More in government than private. When you are sick of it in private, you may change the job and probably you will get one with a pay rise. In government, apart from ex servicemen, not many can change. Just stay sick of it and die because less private companies are willing to offer job on the basis of government job experience. For many, the politics becomes unbearably harsh in government.
4. Perks- in government, old pension scheme gone, it is just nps now. You can get that in private as well. Mediclaim, same as private for some government jobs like banks. Salary lower in government for anyone above clerk than private. Only benefits, few more leaves, claim on job after unpaid leave of one year in case of critical illness.and yes, government job is more secured than private but if you have skills, you will get a new job after recession or whatever crisis is over.
5. Location flexibility - in private, you can choose an industry and city where that industry is prominent. Then you can live in the city. You may also get job abroad. That is dream of many. In many government jobs, people above level of clerk face frequent transfers all over the India. It is big disadvantage.
6. Growth- in government, most promotions are reservation and seniority based. So no output for hard work. In private you have better chance of your hard work getting appreciated.

Work life balance - government job
For example IT industry

I Am a government servant myself and i totally disagree to your comment stating govt job to be underloaded, just think why are so many people unemployed, because government organizations are under staffed and each person has to do work of several other because of never ending vacancy, this results in odd working hours ranging upto 19 hours and minimum 14 hours daily.
Gone are the days when govt jobs were lucrative open your eyes and join buisness, even private jobs are not that great.
Ive seen many young people destroying their lives because of government jobs. A sure fire way to tell if you can crack a government job is to check your attempts. If you can't crack in the first 2 then your chances are extremely low. Rather prepare for CAT and study MBA.
