Shahanshah is my Childhood Favourite, I watched it repeatedly in whole summer vacation back in 1988 at VCR. And whenever I got chance after that I watched it again and again.
Shahenhsah was a good movie. Even now when you watch its entertaining. So was Kaalia. Main Azaad Hoon was the best though, but no one talks about it as it was a art movie.
....Congrats....🎂... n thanks for this interview with legend dear tinnu sir...about the BTS story of "shahenshah"....the whole scenario was amazing from the initial adv booking till jubilee celeb n the main highlight was that dress worn by legend big b sir....became emotional recollect of nostalgia...the era of late '80s....n mind u at every centre first few months were running packed houses in metro cities, including small centres...n though meenakshi madam was comparative new with big b sir....the scenes of amit ji n amrish sir were the highlight n scene stealer including the climax court scene...n ofcouse those iconic milestones...." rishtey mein toh hum tumhaare baap hote hai.." n others...all his 3 movies with amit sir were the best of his n amit sir career also... .👏....thanks....👍....
Finally someone said it clearly that bollywood movies are in Urdu language. Movie title, dialogues, songs and culture too. But still many sleeping idiots call it a Hindi film industry
Same year 1988 Jackie Shroff was in a movie Aakhri Adalat which had him playing a vigilante in leather suit. Guess Jeetendra wasnt the only one stealing..
I watched Shahenshah on the same day of its release in 1988 on VHS in Peshawar and bought it's music on tape cassette in 1987. The craze for Shahenshah is exceptional; cannot be explained in words. The new generation had missed it. Vinod Khanna, could have been the only option had Amitabh refused the film.
I was a teenager and a college student,, many Controversies was there,, and after the release the film was rated as Avarage/ Semi hit,, but now we came to know that the movie was a Cult Classic,,

Brother, Shahensha was a super flop movie.......poorly written script, over the top dialogues, and Amitabh's career was going downhill during that time......Kaalia was a hit
