@@pretzel4805 not exhausted from the fight, exhausted from ego usage (base verg wouldve probably handled it the same) + sanchos half hp doesnt equal to her actual health in lore, in reality we probably made her have a very light nose bleed even with attacks like lament mourn and despair, also it just says "this is the most exhausted i've seen vergilius after a fight", doesn't say "vergilius was visibly exhausted" meaning vergilius put in effort into the fight you have absolutely no idea how powerful a second kindred is considering that this isnt even about being well fed or not being fed anymore, she was carrying LITERALLY the thirst of every single kindred in the manchegan family and you can guess how aggresive and powerful that would make her you're extremely naive for thinking this way and going "oh well vergilius is weak!!" because we saw the fight between true don and bari, did you even see how fast they were attacking?? did you even see how long they fought?? do you understand how powerful true don is?? the only reason we beat true don is because he was weakened a lot from the golden bough, not because "offense level and defense level low!!" if he didnt have that golden bough status effect he would practically roll up to 150 or so, besides im pretty sure sancho didnt cook our ass immediately because don quixote was trying to stop her from doing so vergilius is infact not a fraud and this makes him look even better, we couldnt do anything to sancho in the real fight with her in the dungeon but we fought against dulcinea (same kindred ofc) and BEAT THE HELL OUT OF HER. does this not show just how powerful sancho is???

There is a possibility based on that statement that being the last member of her family she "evolved" into a first kindred when we took her shoes off this time. If that's the case it's all more the reason for Verg to go all out from the get go.
As far as I'm certain, personal EGO, born specifically out of intense emotion, obviously needs intense emotion to manifest even after the initial manifest (Think Kali in LoR, both her bossfight and the keypage needing to reach either a certain amount of health or emotion level). He had real bad blood with the ring that is not only shown in Leviathan but he also mentions it in Limbus Company. He likely didn't need to manifest EGO, but he really wanted to drive home just how much he hated the mfs.
