Watching this episode and the whole Goa series in a Monsoon like this reminds me of my childhood days in Goa when I used to come home from school (Sharada Mandir, Panjim) wearing Flip-Flops decorated in bright red mud (in Goa Flip Flops are officially part of the school uniform during the monsoon season) and was pampered by my Maa with a sumptuous lunch of Daal Bhaat accompanied with a large piece of freshly caught Bangde (Mackerel) stuffed with a spicy marinade based on ginger and garlic paste and coated with Rawa and then Tawa fried till crisp and cooked. She made it exactly like the Goans did and even when I am writing this, my mouth is watering and the memories are bringing a smile to my face along with a sense of happiness. Even though I didn't have the best of childhood memories from Goa, I have always been in love with the food there. Another person that comes to my mind is uncle Anthony who was the caretaker of the guest house maintained by the organisation in which my Baba used to work. I still miss and crave for his coconut based gravies of Prawn and Chicken and of course his humbleness. I remember, when we were temporarily staying in the guest house, I used to spend time gossiping with uncle Anthony in his kitchen as he prepared those lovely dishes and the odour of the delicacies prevented me from going out of the kitchen. I don't know where he is now or how he is, but I often crave for his dishes. Maybe, that is how food helps you to remember people you miss. People go to Goa for the beaches and the alcohol, but I would go there only for my love for the Bangdes, Prawns, Kingfish, Bambils, Vindaloos, Xacutis (my absoulte favourite), Cafreals, Goan Pork Sausages, Sol Kadi and last but not the least, the warm and fresh Pois sold by the Poder on their bicycles as they go honking through the streets. Thank you so much Sid and Shanky. Loads of love for you two BIG PETUKS (in Bengali Petuk is a person who loves to eat). Wish I can accompany you guys someday And I hope the Gods are treating Ramesh sir well
This is such a beautiful message anirban.... Thank you very much for this.. You're right food is memories.. Like people associate a song or music to a place or person they met, the both of us invariably do that with food we ate, served or cooked... It'll be great to catch up some day and share a meal together... Until then.. Peace ✌️
a sad ending but a fitting tribute to a true blooded Goan who not only filled the hearts of people with love but their bellies with food as well. Well done Sid and Shanky. Thank you for such a beautiful episode.
Everything was unexpected... Didn't realise 17:08 minutes were over.. Can't believe Ramesh is no longer with us... May his soul rest in peace... That's the kind of magic you guys are doing... Ramesh still lives on through this epic episode and in our hearts... Even though I haven't been to Ramesh's place, I was planning to go there after the normalcy resumes... Though Ramesh is no longer with us, his legacy will live on... Thank you for sharing him with us...
Ohh the end ..... No on saw that coming... this episode was one of the few food review episode of any goddamn review show which is full of human emotions... May Ramesh's soul rest in peace... And U Forkers have really changed the meaning of food review all together... When you pay for the food you eat then only you can give an honest review .... Hey Big Fat Global Food Channels kindly take a queue from our Desi Big Forkers on how to review food.
Bunch of friends enjoying food and life that’s what this show is all about. Ramesh we will miss you. Kadakman and the two ladies sid and shank were awesome 😜😜.
A fitting tribute to a humble soul who had magic in his hands. RIP Ramesh @Sid Mewara & TBF, if you looking for offbeat places with delicious food, I can give you a lead of place in Central Goa
Wow. How is it that you guys manage to get each episode after another to be absolutely pitch perfect? There isn’t a false note. Keep ‘em coming, else your fan base will give you both some pat pat!
"..and the gods shall dine well.." pure goosebumps boys, thanks for keeping it real, for Mr Ramesh🙏🙏 Also a big shoutout to Kadakman (I hope we get to see him in future videos as well!), the world will be a better place with more souls like him around : )
This episode had so much emotion to it and the last quote, "God's would dine well", what an absolute, brilliant tribute to Ramesh! LOVED THE EPISODE! NEVER STOP YOU GUY'S!
Moses, Goa's Best RUclipsr ❤️ A humble request please find gems like Ramesh and show it to the world. Big Forkers, our Country's best at what you do #RIPRamesh ❤️
There is so much content to mine in Goa, nhi re? If you remember, I had suggested trying out the quaint old bars which are (usually) run out the front of houses .... please try and plan for those also. Good to see you here dude. TC.
Rocky and Mayur created a benchmark in food reviewing in India and now the baton is in your hands guys and you are sprinting like bolt so happy to see you everytime and the genuinity and the originality of your presence is so amazing with amazing vibes running around 👍👍 cheers guys susegad style keep munching keep snacking keep boozing coz you know we are gonna watch it 👍
Ramesh has a hippie story. I too have one from my dad's college days. Dad is a doc and now a senior citizen This was recounted in one of their reunions. His med college planned a trip to Goa in late 70s. Dad's friend rented a camera with a roll for shooting the hippies. The friend got caught red handed and was chased down by a naked woman on a beach while my dad and his friends saw the chase from afar. The friend ran to his professor and hid behind him. The starkly naked hippie lady came, snatched the camera and exposed the roll. This was narrated in front of his wife and grown children much to embarrassment of his family and huge laughter in the auditorium of the whole batch who had gathered for reunion.
That was a great tribute to a man of less words (on camera) and what looks like simple great food. It looks like its someone's home you are in and are enjoying the food in the verandah that came straight from the home kitchen. A legend meeting whom and eating his food, I missed. Will try and find this place on my next visit to Goa and eat here. Btw, there are so many small legendary places whose owners are happy and truly content serving 50 or less people a day with great food. Not chasing money or fame. Truly Goan living life fullest in a 'Sussegaat' style. I know one 'house' which got famous and from small little bakda went straight to a swanky place. Mothers recipe made them famous and the partner's plan to make it grand turned out to a recipe for disaster as far as the authenticity is concerned. I never went again to that place - a tourist trap now. Kadak man was a good inclusion - love his antics, which I am sure is genuine inspiration because I know some Goan Catholics (pronounced more like 'Kato-licks') and met with their lovely moms, who sound similar when they spoke. Goa is a mesmerising place, amidst the ritz and glamour of the youngsters and wannabes wanting to be cool are these authentic simple soulful people. Those who don't pretend to be anything else except who they truly are and give a damn about others opinion - just like the two of you. Shows like thee cut through the maze of show called Goa and make us deep dive in the real Goan ocean of some lovely people and great food. Hope to join in on a table with the two of you soon and in a small place such as a Ramesh's in a quaint village like aa Bhatti or something. No fancy shit, good honest food and some good quantity of booze.
The video had so many emotions and the ending tribute was such an unexpected shock. May his soul rest in peace and his food live long enough so that most people get to taste the magic that he creates( which I learnt from this video as I am a vegetarian so have never tasted no-veg ever)
Dear Fokers!, WOW!, You guys know how to string all human cords, emotional, funny and damn delicious at the same time. Great Show , was distracted by Wales playing Italy 😀, never mind the result, all still good for queen and country, but missed your show so apologies. Keep it coming and one day I hope , I can join you boys wherever you are … From a fellow foodie , Fan and well wisher ….. All the Best!
Nice people are taken away too soon. May his soul Rest In Peace. You guys are really humorous and absolutely entertaining. Love your show. Simply love your Lingo. ❤️❤️
Been watching this channel from almost two months now , there are two most unique things on this channel one is most unique way of presentation which is very authentic and new in this category of content and secondly this channel is growing very slow which shows the organic approach of channel maker too.
As the events were unfolding, I was hoping that one day I'll visit this place and have a hearty Feast especially of Fish but that opportunity is no longer there. Feeling a bit heart broken that such a great chef who does not wants fame and money, just wants few people and share with them the food that he cooks with his Wife. It this place still running or closed ?
Amazing! Nothing more beautiful than seeing passionate chefs and foodies enjoying together! May God bless talented Ramesh uncle! And Kadakman was next level with his acting skills!
