When you equip Gerudo Mask as adult Link (normally impossible) it causes a glitch effect where certain actors are highlighted in yellow, especially when they're further away from the camera.
@@ToastReaper just a glitch. There's no model for it as adult Link, so it runs some nonsense as a graphics program, which happens to not crash but change the fog settings to apply a yellow tint based on distance.
@@renakunisaki Cool. Makes sense given how prone OOT's code is to reaching out to random values to decide things when it's broken out of intended directions
Does the community know about the glitch? If they do, it depends on the severity of the glitch, the type, and the intent of the runner. The community would probably try to come to a decision, but if you’re running glitchless, it’s unlikely you’d be unaware of the major glitches.
@@ClassicBentobox What is considered a glitch or not? Like Link's backflip with a bomb that makes him goes fast, is it considered a glitch? Because it's not really a game feature. So is the glitchless run just like a casual OoT run (faster of course)?
@@lesgrosgainz HES'ing, and all forms of superslide, are indeed considered glitches when it comes to a glitchless run. However, I need to make the argument that Superslides, Bomb hovering, ISG (infinite sword glitch), and crouch stabbing are more like exploits than they are glitches. Exploits are like Mario 64 Backwards Long Jump, or Melee wavedash. Technically speaking, the engine is operating as it should, so it's not really a glitch. But for the health of the speedrun categories, as well as trying to appeal to the largest audience possible, it's easier to just say glitchless because more people understand what that means. And yes, it's mostly a normal run done quickly. However, that doesn't mean there's no tricks. I haven't kept up with the category in a long time, but back in the day, glitchless speedrunners would use a bomb as Young Link to damage boost to a high platform in Jabus Belly. This isn't considered a glitch because you aren't exploiting the engine, you're doing something that is possible to notice is possible in a casual run. Of course, there's neverending arguments about what true glitchless is, but for the sake of simplicity, it is intended to be a more traditional run. Which is really important for games where any% gets screwed by glitches and basically turns into doing one really hard trick and then winning the game. (See: Super Mario World)
@@ClassicBentobox Thanks for the great answer bro. I remember doing OoT in like 20-24 hours (and that wasnt full skulltulas). How fast are speedrunner doing it in normal run?
LesGros Gainz So current Glitchless record (any%, unrestricted) Is 3 hours and 40 mins by dannyb21892 Current any% record, which allows use of glitches, is 7 minutes and 34 seconds. Also held by dannyb21892 (boy that name just rolls off the tongue lol) But that really shows you how big a difference these tricks make. In fact, they make such a big difference that the record for an 100% completion run with glitches is only *5 minutes* off the any% glitchless record. It’s a fun game to get into, but the learning curve is definitely daunting, and although the top players will always be the top players, glitchless is a fantastic way to try and run a game without the high stakes pressure of using every exploit possible. If I ever run the game, I would probably try to do that first.
He has mentioned he would like to do multilayer randos with no logic and max settings but there is a very small pool of people that can actually do that with him, and most of them probably don't want to
