It looks really good on the 4Runner, but that whole elbow piece is kinda suspect. I like the little built in extensions that the other brands use on their snorkel body tubes that poke through the fender vs the flush fit here. It almost looks like the fender is used as “gasket” if you will in addition to the RTV sealant. Seems like the weak link in the whole system is that flanged plastic elbow piece. How has everything held up so far?
@@BirdDogOffRoadAdventures can i ask why you sold it and what you did with the holes in the fender for your next snorkel? wondering because this seems like a project that once you go all in, you need a new fender if you want to get rid of it. thanks!
@@xrptrdpro4056 why I sold the snorkel or the 4Runner itself. I loved this snorkel and only sold it as I was putting the 4Runner back to stock prior to trading for a Bronco. If you search eBay, you can buy a replacement fender already painted for a couple hundred bucks.
Looks great! I’m not sure if you just didn’t show it in the video, but just snug fitting plastic won’t keep water out. Needs silicon couplers and hose clamps or some type of sealant to piece together like pvc pipes, but that wouldn’t allow for easy disassembly in the future.
Hello, Sweet Rig Bird Dog Overland. I would like to know if there is a list of the upgrades done to your 4Runner. Always looking for cool parts to add to my 5th Gen 4Runner. Keep up the great videos - cheers
Hi, nice vid. im considering on purchasing one for my 5th gen. Any issues with water getting in the intake on top of your roof? looks like its so open for rain water to go in. Thanks in advance.
None so far. The bottom edge is about 1/4" thick, so water should not flow off the roof into the mouth of the system. I left my drain hole in the stock airbox to be safe in the interim.
I have a link of my build on my ‘About page’ on here. The wheels are SCS Ray10s 17x8.5 with -10 offset. Tires are 285/75r17s (34” tall) BFG KM3s. 3” lift front and rear from Dobinsons MRA suspension kit.
@@BirdDogOffRoadAdventures thank you. My box showed up all mangled, no instructions, and I wrote customer service for instructions but no reply. Your vid is good enough though.
I just installed the long version on my Tacoma. The template is garbage. Difficult access to the bolts. Looks great though
I totally agree.
How do you like this thing long term?
I loved it for as long as I had it. Best looking 4Runner snorkel IMO.
Nice video! Is this snorkel water sealed for water crossings?
Yes, the silicon bead should accomplish that.
That things looks better than any snorkle I have seen...Love your set up!
Awesome video Brother, just seen these on GovX and I’m loving the design.
Great video...what was the opening music track?

It’s been wonderful. No regrets whatsoever.
Great video!! I really appreciate the way you did this. Please keep them coming. All best!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. Let me know if you have any questions
Does the passenger door open without hitting it…at all? Looks like the spacing is tight there. Overall it looks amazing.
Nope, this only covers the A Pillar frame, not any parts of the Door itself.
very nice car man and effectively even if the price is more than this over the look is f**** nice another level great job enjoy....
Thanks! It was one of my favorite mods on the 4Runner
Looks Awesome! Going to order one for my 4 Runner
Mine is for sale if you are near Chicago.

At 14:18 in the video it shows me adding the silicone bead. It actually came off with little effort when I removed it before selling the 4Runner.

What kind of wheels and tires? Also what size lift?

@@BirdDogOffRoadAdventures awesome I’ll check it out. It’s beautiful
Think it would be possible to somehow adapt to fit a 3rd gen? This think looks sick!
I doubt it, but you could check with the manufacturer to see if they can do a one-off version for you
What size hole saw did you use?
Per the instructions, I used a 3 5/8” hole saw.

Is there a specific hole saw you recommend. Something in particular to cutting through a fender? Thank you.

Looks great!
Holy fucking silicone sealant your valves and springs love you 🤡 with one simple trick he keeps the mechanic away tf are you thinking dude
Do you think it would block a prinsu roof rack?
Unfortunately, this version is not compatible with full length racks. They have a shorter version that will work with full length racks though.
