Hi Kathy, it’s lovely to hear from you, I’ll always remember your gift for 10 super techniques which was a turning point for my channel. I’m loving having the option of having the archival paper for prints I think will be good.
Hi Dorothy, I love your name…it was my nanas name and is my daughter’s middle name. Thank you, I do love my very expensive posh paper. I’ve nearly used 1/5 of it!!! But it’s worth it for layered gel plate prints.
Hi Kirsten, what an awesome experiment! I love the way you tease out new potential of the gel plate, touching it ever so softly, as if you were soothing a baby. No wonder, it reveales such an interesting result full of texture and subtle colour. Love to watch your experimental journey 🤩, XO Britta
Hi Britta 🥰, I love this description!! I really liked this piece, I think it shows a bit of progress. The shading is definitely a keeper. I think it gives a bit of polish to the picture xxx❤️
Fran, I’m sorry I haven’t replied yet but I knew you wouldn’t mind. I’m going through all my papers and mass making stuff. All because I bought a bit of proper posh paper. It’s helped me establish a bit of a line between the practice work and the work for exhibitions. It’s been very blurred until now.
Have you ever watched the art whisperer, he does full pictures on the gel plate. I learned a lot from him. But I do want to be the only one 😂 I was watching you earlier, I liked the floral fabric you made (the one you showed with red flowers). 🌺 🥰
@@quirkyqueens yes, I know him (through you😀) but I think your style is still unique (yep… you ARE the only one)! Thanks, I liked my little flower fabric as well, we are quite happy with ourselves and so we should be!😀💖🍀
Hi Kirsten! The gradtions of soft colours is lovely. Your very first black mark that you partially pulled off at the beginning is perhaps my favourite bit. A bit of story: last year was my beginner's foray into paints. (I've primarily been a fibre artist all my life) and to learn colour theory and find "my palette" I would set myself challenges of using only two or three colours for a few weeks. My fave combo was ultramarine and burnt sienna; I adore the earthy greyed out pinks and purples they make. Thanks for reminding me of that. I hope you're well! I'm chugging along just fine.
I've just watched Lisbeth Degns latest video. She has chosen 3 colours she doesn't usually use. You might find it interesting, she has a link to a book
Me too, I think paper quality and paint type are important factors when pulling a dried print. Mine either don’t pick up enough of the dried under image or the paper tears away and sticks to the gel plate. I have tried between 2 and 10 minutes but still with minimal results. Any advice would be appreciated. Love your experimental attitude.👍
This is amazing. I like the way you have done something so different and showed the whole process instead of speeding the film up. What make of gel plate do you use?
Very interesting techniques to create a soft yet complex print Kirsten. Tfs
Thanks Yolande, I really like the shading, I think it makes the shapes a bit more 3D.
I love the soft colors and subtle quality. Very interesting techniques!
I’m definitely going to do more with this shading technique. I think it looks more abstract, less flat.
Great to see you experiment, I think the beauty of the gel plate is the not quite knowing what the end result will be.😀❤️
Thanks kari, especially when you’ve stained the plate yellow with alcohol inks, so you can’t peek underneath anymore 😖😂❤️
Fantastic creation Kirsten! 😊
Hi M, thank you!!! I’m glad you like it!!! 😁
This was so much fun to watch, and you have a very great work. Love the colors and elements. Wonderful!!

Brilliant use of your posh paper. Lovely results!

This is a brilliant video, Kirsten. I really enjoyed it and I learnt something new! Thank you.

Love this! It turned out great!
Thanks Tricia, I feel the shading made it a bit more of a mature picture, which I liked.
You are the only one i know that uses the gelplate that way, really experimental and with a beautiful result!💖🍀

Great experiment. I’m inspired to try something similar on my larger plate. Thanks!
You are welcome as always Clyde. I’m very jealous of your larger plate!!!
@@quirkyqueens Don’t be. I’m still at the train wreck stage. 😜

Hi Kristen, new sub I stumbled across your channel looking at gelli print videos. TFS 🤙
Hi tutu, thank you. I’ve seen you on a live, either pm artist studio or Kari Gibson. My moneys on pm but I can’t be certain 🤔😂
PM artist. ❤😊

Hi Teresa, gel press. I have two, 5x7 and 8x10.
One day I’d like to buy or make a big one. It will happen!! 😂
You're so cute : I'm so posh with my special paper.
Hi Corinna, good paper is so expensive but it’s worth it for a final picture. I was a bit excited as it was the first time I’d used it 😱😂🥳
bonjour ...
que faites vous de vos réalisations ?
Salut Marie-Dominique, je les encadre. J'ai une impression vidéo sur gel sur un art encadré. je dois encore créer une boutique en ligne.
