I heard Crumb's Black Angels when I was a sophomore in school-a piano major at the time- and it made me decide to go into music composition. I ended up doing a twenty page analysis of it for my teachers required four-page analysis assignment. It seems as if it is from another world...

@@Paul49Giloi Everyone’s different. “Black Angels” was written by Crumb about the Vietnam War, and the “electric insects” he refers to in the score are attack helicopters (the screeching sounds of the violins in the beginning).
Amazing! Gotta love Crumb. I wanna smack those coughers on the back of the head though. Is it that hard to wait till a loud section to cough? It seems they specifically wait for the absolute most silent of places. Any way, props to this quartet for pulling of this ridiculous piece.
Beautiful. RIP George Crumb.

Is it somewhere to read?😊
Do you by any chance still have it and would be willing to share it?

I LOVE that your glasses are filled with wine rather than just water! LOL
Literally gives me a fucking panic attack
I'd like to get this but I simply can't. I guess I'm not sophisticated enough. Is this a case of "The Emperor's New Clothes"?
@@Paul49Giloi maybe try while reading the score, if that's possible?
Sent me into psychosis🥲

Best performance of this piece. Hard work pays off.
My guy on the cello gets a ripping amount of overtones out of bowing the gong. So awesome. Wonderful performance

amazing music! thanks for uploading this!!
Why is this piece so weirdly beautiful dark and mysterious creepy but greeny
It’s about the Vietnam War, so…
Excellent, exciting, electric elegant experience!
It’s George Crumb, the composer, not Robert (R.) Crumb, the cartoonist.
Slaps hard
Not gonna lie, this actually slaps 🔥🔥🔥🔥

They were coughing during the loud parts, too. But you couldn’t hear them. 😆
and they travel around the world looking for the quietest sections!
Coughing isn’t always under concious control
mystérieux , fascinant , captivant , comme la découverte d un monde inconnu , nouveau ,
Brilliant
Vale George Crumb (6/2/22)
The cadenza is wicked
R.I.P. Robert Crumb.

Stunning!
I would love to hear the sarabande at the end.. but I didnt.
It's not meant to be played at the end. It's an optional alternative to No. 6
Surely this is the music of Greek tragedy.
Great music...
¡Suena muy vrgas!

Why
I know music. This is amazing.
It's quite the opposite actually
your favorite song is probably darude-sandstorm
What a load of old codswallop,
Good intention and great idea... horrible composition and elaboration of the theme.
This sucks
Please elaborate.
